Breakfast was superb in both choice and quality. I loved the big bath and separate large walk-in shower. The toileteries were of a very high quality and replaced regularly. I used the spa once to swim and found it excellent. The free WiFi was good but I was unable to get it on my Kindle. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the night light was good. Overall the lighting was great, lots of light where I needed it.

I live in Cyprus so come from a warm climate. I found my room cooler than I like and was unable to adjust the thermostat. I often felt cold. Drawer space was limited. The Lobby Bar was very quiet and as solo traveller I would have liked the opportunity to meet other guests.

The experience was pure delight. The whole spectrum: from reservation to check-out, it was magnificent. Pleasant interaction, care, everything happening smoothly—flowers and luggage magically appear in the room. With complimentary brut. Perfect. Inside, everything is very stylish and fascinating to look at; the room on the seventh floor was wonderful. And the creative lighting—so playful. Oh yes, and the bathroom (for two) is quite cozy. A marvelous SPA and friendly staff. Everything is top-notch. Highly recommend!

Everything. The room was beautiful and spacious, the bed was large and very comfortable with excellent quality bed linen. The bathroom was large with both a shower and bath. The entire property was decorated beautifully and was immaculately clean. The staff were attentive, polite and helpful. The buttons in the room for the various light modes as well as the ‘do not disturb’ and ‘make up my room’ options were a really great modern touch in an otherwise art deco themed, grand hotel. The location was amazing. Most attractions, bar and restaurants are within 5 mins walk. The evening service was a lovely touch where the house keeping staff would come to your room at about 6-7pm to ready your room for the evening - essentially tidy up again and replace used towels etc, so you are getting your room made up twice a day so if you wanted to stay in the room all day (you might, considering how beautiful it is!), the bed and room will be tidied up again for the evening so no need to worry if you messed the bed up! They also put your slippers on a sheet of silk on the floor next to the bed for you to stand on before getting into the bed which is a lovely little touch. As well as this, they will top up your bed side water and leave you an inspirational quote on your bed side table. Another lovely simple touch that goes a long way. The spa was luxurious and the treatment I had (80 minute bespoke massage) was great with some different touches I hadn’t experience before which made it very memorable for my birthday! At breakfast they had alcoholic and non-alcoholic champagne. The hotel restaurant - Stage 22 is super modern and trendy and beautiful. The food is great and the cocktail selection is large and contains a number of non-alcoholic options which were great.

A couple of very small improvements - breakfast selection could be amended slightly daily to make it more interesting, otherwise the breakfast was amazing. The breakfast room itself was beautiful as is all of the hotel. The relaxation room in the spa could be slightly darker, larger and more relaxing. The restaurant - Stage 22 is slightly overpriced for the side of the main dishes but the starters were about right. For my birthday I received a small cake and some macrons, fruit and a card but I feel like it would have been nice to receive maybe one more gift. I appreciate that they may not have given me champagne had they been aware that I was pregnant but I would have still appreciated a bottle to take home to drink after my pregnancy.

First I have to mention the kindness and creativeness of the greeting/concierge staff. They made the stay special, especially for our child. Second, the pool and sauna area were great. The space is available for children between 10am and 4pm, and to all 9am-9pm, which is a good way of pleasing all clients. The pool was +31C, and there were three saunas, an ice tub and experience shower. All sparkling clean. Our room had views on the Opera House and the avenue, and yet it was well isolated. No noise at all from the corridors either. No noisy air conditioning. A nice writing desk, and good reading lights. In the common areas we really appreciated the beautiful and tasteful Christmas decorations, still on in the first days of January. At the buffet breakfast you could also choose dishes à la carte (eggs, waffles), free of charge. It is convenient, you can just sit and enjoy.

Everything was perfect.

The room was spacious, elegant and service was done twice a day. Comfy bed. Nice-looking minibar and high-end furniture. There was a feeling we were in a calm area despite the presence of other guests on the floor. Large halls, entrance and corridors. Ground floor was decorated for Christmas.

We stayed 4 days (3 nights) and every day there were 3 orher employees at the reception. During our stay only twice they said "Hello". It felt akward and cold receiving no smile, nor a greeting as we live and often travel abroad. Elsewhere basic politness is a must, not only in a 5-star hotel or any other Kempinski. The receptionnist doing our check-in could not give us information in a proper Latvian so we did it in English. We ordered dinner in our room, but it should be improved (for example, there was no chicken in the classic Club sandwich).

The staff was super welcoming from the very arrival at the hotel, sorting out luggage straight away and valeted our car to a near by parking garage. Staff acted fast, politely and all requests were promptly handled. The room was also nice and spacious. The SPA was nice and quiet, we enjoyed it a lot. All in all the quality of the staff (except in the rooftop bar/restaurant) is what set this place apart.

WiFi was the slowest I have experienced at any hotel in recent years, regardless of the level of hotel. Was practically unusable and ended up just using mobile hotspot instead. The rooftop bar was also a bit disappointing as there was no one welcoming us, so we just sat down at a table, waited 15 mins and no one came to bring menus, so we left.

Very happy with this hotel. Extremely good location, very clean and comfortable rooms. Professional staff. For parking, just use Google Maps and enter the little street that goes to the hotel’s entrance. A member of the staff will park the car for you, and it’s 40 euros per night. When you need it, they’ll get your car rather quickly, so don’t mind leaving it in their garage. Otherwise, you’ll have a hard time finding another spot to park yourself as it’s a busy neighbourhood. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We loved the bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub, and everything was spotless. We would have preferred firmer pillows and a hairdryer that wasn’t as finicky as ours. Apart from that, our room was perfect. Also, plenty of outlets to charge your electronics. We used the laundry service as we are travelling through the Baltic states and it worked great. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, with lots of different options and fresh products. Highly recommended! Would definitely stay here again!

The pillows were too soft

A room, sauna and gym were clean and well maintained.

Breakfast (and lunch/dinner) was the worst experience during the stay. I don't know why, however it was a problem to get a hot tea or coffee. A choice of food was mediocre. For example, the restaurant offered at most two sorts cheese, and the cheese sometimes was warm and not fresh. It looked, like a menu of the restaurant on the 8-th floor was not changed for months. From my point of view, both restaurants were highly overpriced and pretentious.

Awesome location

I didn’t add breakfast to our stay since we had a tour one am. Breakfast Would have been 50.00 for both of us per night if added during booking, since we didn’t, we ended up paying 80.00 for us both. Would have been nice to know how expensive breakfast was, I assure you it’s not worth 40.00 per person. Also, we went to their spa to relax, however, they were holding a water aerobics session with very loud music at 10:30am, VERY disappointed Small room, pay more for bigger one

I stayed for 24 nights at the Grand Kempinski Hotel Apartment. I loved the hotel’s perfect location (right between the Old Town and the Art Nouveau district), the warm welcome, attentive housekeeping, and the relaxing spa. I felt safe, comfortable, and truly at home. Now, as I leave, I already feel a deep sense of longing, and I look forward to returning.
