The property/home is exceptional. Straight out of the 1700’s and faithfully restored by the owners, two interior designers whose home you will be staying in. The breakfast was extremely good in the original dining room. The original paintings are just too beautiful!!

Our stay here was too short, just two nights. Be aware that it feels like a time capsule where the furnishings are absolutely beautiful. Due to the age of the original property there is no lift and the staff will take your baggage to and from your room. If you prefer minimal stairs, mention it when booking. We are in our 70’s and loved it!!

What a fantastic historic gem, but also in a really great location for exploring Ghent . A truly beautiful yet comfortable place to stay and relax with such welcoming and helpful hosts. The interior is a feast to the eyes and so stylishly curated with great attention to detail in all the rooms and spaces. A real pleasure to wonder round and explore, including the wonderful gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

Very well located in a quiet area but still within five minutes walk to the town. This is an exceptional property, grand yet homely. The house is full of interest and the owners very friendly, welcoming and interesting. They take a real pride in the place and are eager for you to understand its heritage and enjoy it. The room was big, comfortable and warm ( we visited in December). There was a good selection for breakfast which is served in a very grand room overlooking the courtyard garden. Secure parking is available, which is one less thing to worry about. This was a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

The decor is beyond compare and does proper justice to a stunning grand town house. The welcome was lovely and warm, not precious at all, but it’s all about the most beautifully decorated property we’ve ever stayed in.

The bathroom was a little cramped relative to the palatial bedroom and the shower a little weak. Breakfast is served with great care in a beautiful dining room, but it could, perhaps should, offer more choice and higher quality at the high price.

What an incredible place! Marc and Jan have lovingly restored this former home to a wealthy count and countess from the 1700s. It’s clear that these interior design have spent the past 20 years making their home perfect. It’s an unforgettable experience to stay here. The breakfast alone is an experience not to be missed.

This is the best designed hotel we had stayed in, the host put their heats to the hotel, every single corner is well thought and designed. The room, the bed, the bath are all beautiful and very comfortable. The garden is extremely beautiful, especially the house is not in the central place where have many restaurants or bars, which gave us a really peaceful time sitting in the garden and deep sleep for rest. Just 5-10 min talk,then will get restaurants and coffee shops.

Beautifully appointed private house . Outstanding luxury and attention to detail . The decor , style and aesthetic is unparalleled . Here are two people who have transported a house into a ‘dream’ . Magical garden . It’s all like stepping into a storybook . Lilly coffee machine in room . Really good quality wines in mini bar and price reasonable I felt . It is important to realise that you are sharing the experience ( and luxury ) of a private house / home - this is not a routine hotel and expectations must customise to that

I Would have liked option to chill out during the day , post check out - but this is what I mean by managing expectations which are different . This stay was a beautiful journey and glimpse into something very fine - and it’s a privilege to have that experience also .

Beautiful interior and exterior, there is something to be seen everywhere you look but it’s not too much. Interior decoration both complements and contrast with the original design and the garden which was impressive in winter would be lovely in summer to sit in. The room was very comfortable, and the en suite uses the space cleverly. We were in the middle of Ghent within an easy 10 minute walk.

Extremely elegant, refined and culturally rich settings, beautifully preserved by our hosts. Passionnate with art, they introduced us to the history of this mansion. It was a highlight of our Trip to Gand. The breakfast is excellent, the rooms, silent, beautiful and extremely comfortable. Most definitely one of the best hotels i’ve stayed in so far.

This hotel is a masterpiece. We got so impressed with maintenance and decoration. The owners can explain detailed each piece in the hotel. The breakfast is an amazing experience served in a beautiful room. If the weather is good you can enjoy some peace and quiet at their internal garden. Don’t miss the opportunity to stay at this historical property.
