Ground floor room. Absolutely stunning. Roomy and spotless. Lovely and quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast and good choices. Wonderful location in the heart of Stamford.

The location is excellent and the hotel has great indoor and outdoor spaces with lovely staff in all areas. The whole place, inside and out, was very well maintained and clean. The rooms are well equipped and the beds very comfortable. Rooms have a full range of facilities that are topped up daily. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Not enough useable storage space.

What a great find this hotel was. Excellent location, secure car park, friendly attentive staff throughout and great breakfast. Well appointed individual rooms with white fluffy towels and pillows that you could relax into. Everything was great, would recommend this hotel with confidence.

The room was really nice, very comfy and spacious, a quiet room was requested and could not fault that, although my husband banged his head several times on the door frame as it was very low and he isn't that tall, perhaps better signage to warn you would be good, the courtyard was especially nice full of flowers and plenty of places to sit, the breakfast was very nice and staff very pleasant, poached eggs were not runny but overall a good breakfast.

The hotel was under some building work with scaffolding up at the front of the hotel, the car park was full of construction workers vehicles although we managed to park the car, it would have been good if this was communicated to us. I booked a superior room in the main hotel but we were put in a room in the cottage opposite, having said that the room was lovely and happy to stay.

The staff were very attentive, great attitudes, accommodating. The food was enjoyable, tasty and for veggies a pleasant range of options. The rooms (we changed after the first night) were clean.

The room (31) in the 'Town House' was a health and safety hazard. It was accessed via a steep, narrow, winding staircase with a low ceiling into a basement room with little natural light and no view. The bathroom was down another steep flight of steps, dangerous in the dark with no hand rails. At £183.50 per night, grossly overpriced for such discomfort when compared to the second room (14) after we asked for the change. We wouldn't have stayed had we known the quality of the first room in advance ! The car park was congested by construction work vehicles therefore space was not guaranteed.

Lovely, comfortable room with a beautiful bathroom. Spacious and nicely decorated with good toiletries available for use in the shower. Breakfast was great, served promptly, and there was a good variety of options to choose from. Nice central location with parking available. Staff were all very efficient and helpful.

The room was a bit chilly when we arrived however there was a nice electric fire which soon warmed everything up. The hairdryer provided is a very tiny and I wished I had taken my own with me. Wardrobe area is adequate however there is no chest of drawers to put any clothes away - if staying more than one night I would find this inconvenient.

The quality of design and attractiveness was exceptional. The location was very near to the main shopping area, without the noise associated with a centre location. Breakfast was very good, served by lovely staff. The dinner offer was very good and very filling.

The bed that we slept on in Room 6 was not the most comfortable, as the springs were felt through the sheets. The shower was a very modern design, but without my husband helping me, I would not have known how to operate it. The hotel did not have any information about the room in the normal booklet. When we ordered coffee we wanted a simple scone to go with it, however you could not purchase a scone without the clotted cream and jam ! So 2 coffees and 2 scones cost £21.50!! The staff just said " that's the pricing policy, which can't be adjusted to your requirements!!"

This is another stay for me at this hotel having first stayed here over thirty years ago. The place is probably at it's best I have ever known and seems to be prospering in a town which also seems to be on the up. Of course we will be back.

Parking is always a bit of a problem here but we did manage to squeeze into the car park. Building work is currently limiting some of the parking area but when this is completed there will be a few more spaces but another nine rooms to hire out so whether the parking gets better or not remains to be seen. There is a car park only a few minutes up the road and I recommend you download and use the appropriate app to make paying for and managing your time spent parked easy.

Cheery, friendly greeting on arrival and staff throughout the hotel always said hello and were attentive. Made us feel like we were welcome and it was much appreciated. The cosy double room was a bit small but we only stayed one night so wasn't an issue, otherwise decor was tasteful and the room was clean. Breakfast was amazing. The choice was excellent and the table service was a joy - so many hotels just have self service breakfast. Food quality was great and staff so friendly and engaging. Lovely outside tables and chairs in courtyard with a profusion of flowers and plants and olive trees. So nice to sit out there and the service from the bar was quick and excellent. Location just superb, could walk to everything in the town. Really, just faultless.

There was four of us, we loved everything. Nothing we didn't like. We'll be back!
