I booked a junior suite with sea view which is the type of one-bedroom suite. However, they upgraded for my family to a beach suite with a better space and a hot tube complimentarily. The breakfast is served at my suite. They offered snacks and wines every afternoon. There are a lot of choices for dining. Foods are quite delicious, especially the Ugly Butterflies restaurant. I love the heated swimming pool, sauna and steam room. The view is perfect. The staff is really helpful. The spa treatment is interesting.

All 5-star hotels and resorts we have stayed provides housekeeping services two times per day and staff to help us with luggages. We had to bring luggages by ourselves here. Finally, the hotel does not provide body lotion in bathroom as normal.

We stayed during the first week of easter holidays and managed to catch the hotel before the main rush over Easter and loved every minute of it. We were contacted the day before and upgraded (which helped) however all the rooms and the hotel are amazing. Very comfortable and very safe - we adored the location and almost private beach area was incredible. So picturesque and a lovely stay. The sauna and pool - although small, were beautiful. I imagine it may get crowded during peak season but even during the relatively poor weather we had, the outdoor sauna and pool were fabulous.

Some of the catering staff in one of the restaurants and at breakfast were not quite up to the levels of service we would expect from a hotel of this stature. At this level its reasonable to have expectations of staff and the vast majority of them (reception and spa especially!) were great - however in one of the restaurants and at breakfast we found ourselves (and other tables) having to go out of our way to get any attention! Maybe it was just off peak but its the only negative on what was otherwise an amazing experience and we're bound to come again!

The hotel and estate was exceptional. The staff has been extremly helpful and they manage smoothly the conversation via an WhatsUp group. This has worked brilliantly. On the premises, they are always very happy to help and very polite. The restaurants are great, really nice food and a lot is locally sourced and good quality. The Beach is fenomenal and the hotel shop has nice sand toys. You can rent a sun chair for a small fee. We stayed at an appartment on the property and it was very cosy and very well equipped. We had a lovely welcome array of snack (cake, bread, butter, ham, cheese, smoked salmon, water, juice, milk) and the there is everything you need - washing machine & dishwasher detergent and all the things you might need in the kitchen.

Our apartment was on the estate and up the hill - quite a walk! But nothing we could do as we picked it :) There's excellent taxi services. Next time we will try a beach property or the main hotel with Seaview- too beautiful to miss!

The pods were beautiful, a real treat. Finer details made it excellent this included marshmallows for roasting, spa pool, sauna, a beautiful space, and freshly baked goods.

We were not told about the location of the pods when booking. The pods were located 10-15 minute drive away from the resort. We were required to drive to use the facilities at the main resort – this included the pool overlooking the beach, sauna, restaurants and spa. I found the advertising misleading. I was also required to provide a £50 deposit and was told this would show up back in my account after 10 days, however, it took three weeks.

Lovely beach Service in the beach restaurant, and food lovely Breakfast and service at breakfast excellent. Reception staff excellent.

Spaces for parking tight No lift and I have problems walking etc The cistern in the bathroom kept getting stuck Had to ask for service/ things several times in the afternoon at breakfast room in the afternoon. In the end , after 20 minutes I went to the beach restaurant. Rooms given… one overlooking roof and had noise from generator ( or something like that…..other one no real view and overlooked by people on their balcony.

The Cabin is not on the hotel site but that for us was a good thing. others may disagree. It was spacious and cosy and Carbis bay had gone a long way to ensure our stay was really nice and gave us all sort of creature comforts not afforded in the main hotel rooms. For myself and my wife we very much enjoyed it with excellent access to the bus and train into St Ives. I would give it 11/10 had it not been for the bed so its gets 9, and I really wanted to give it full marks.

The only thing that was an issue was the bed and it's important top get a good night's sleep. Either the bed or the mattress, not sure which, angled us into the middle of the bed, and not a bit, a lot. it was like sleeping on a mountainside. if that got fixed it would be ideal! The shower was very slow too.

- Location is phenomenal with the view, beach and short walk to St Ives - Facilities such as the gym, pool, jacuzzi and sauna were great; never too busy that we couldn’t use - Staff were friendly - Even though it was a breakfast menu, staff accommodated changes so that was perfect OUTSIDE THE HOTEL: - Scones at the Ugly Butterfly were to die for - Great that the beach had a time slot for dogs - Some good little spots to eat around this location

- We were being really lazy the first night so ordered room service, found this to be expensive - Spa treatments felt overpriced - Some of the staff didn’t take our requests correctly at breakfast, made one morning an absolute nightmare - Room was smaller than I expected and picture misleading as it implies there will be a tub in the room - Way too hot inside the hotel as you walk up the stairs/corridor, like a sauna… - the hill by the hotel is a killer!

From the moment we checked in, all the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, in particular the lovely lady on reception who helped us find a space to park and then changed my room booking as I had booked a studio away from the main hotel (this wasn't clear on booking.com). We were there to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and everyone made him feel very special.

Having eaten in the Ugly Butterfly on Saturday night, the breakfast on Sunday in the Orangery was not as special as I would have expected, however this was only a minor comment (my scrambled egg was colder than I would've liked with my smoked salmon). My boyfriend enjoyed his fried breakfast and it is a lovely space.

Great location, staff really helpful and food fantastic. Outdoor pool was great and parking no issues

We felt for the money the room was a bit tired. Skirting boards were marked and scuffed, wallpaper rip. Shower cubicle was a bit mouldy and few stains on carpet. Bed was a bit hard. But we asked for mattress topper and it was put straight on and it was great. For the 5* it was slightly a let down.

Location, location and location

When we arrived we where told that the apartment was not at the hotel premises and in St Ives. When we challenged this we where told that the bookings through booking.com are done by another management company. We where very upset as we felt deceived and did not want to stay at St Ives. The hotel management then found an apartment for us not sea facing as booked.
