THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND WELL KEPT AND THE ENTERTAINMENT WAS GOOD ON THE 2 NIGHTS WE STAYED

THE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD BUT WE GOT THERE ABOUT 8.30 AND THE BACON EGGS MUSHROOMS AND SAUSAGES WERE BEARLY WARM THE BEANS AND TOMATOES AND THE SCRAMMBLED EGG WERE OK ALSO DOGS SITTING ON THE SEATS IN THE LOUNGE IN THE EVENINGS

The hotel was clean, spacious bedroom, staff were friendly, good location, adeqiate parking, dont expect cuisine for your evening meal it is nice but basic. Breakfast was good plenty of food. Evening entertainment was good. Bar prices were good and a good selection.

We were on the third floor in a corner room which felt like miles to find. If you take your dog with you don't expect to be sat with other people you sit in the bar area one of you will nèed to stay with the dog and get their food then the other person can go for theirs.

Place was big & comfortable vibe Staff were kind when we asked for certain things Free room upgrade was spectacular. I would visit again.

Some decor needs updating, and carpets fitted poorly. Beds were uncomfortable and only 2 pillows for 2 people. Needed more on a kingsize bed. Kingsize bed was 2 singles pushed together & mattress depths uneven to feel like a kingsize.

Location fantastic

We stay at the prince of wales a lot we love the location staff are friendly. The breakfast is okay, but lunch and diner menu is awful. we've made numerous attempts to dine looking at the menu, giving it a go, but it's dry, cold, awful, really needs addressing lots of customers, complain about it when sitting in the lounge you here it a lot I'm sure if this was looked at and better menu put in place your ratings would go up. Morrisons do a better menu and the food is hot and really nice enjoyabl. Also we've had really bad rooms and nasty smells and we've asked to move

The room was really nice. Bathroom very modern, nice fixtures and decor, clean and spacious. Impressed with the amount if clothes storage . Room was comfortable and spacious.

The shower cream/hair wash dispenser was empty unfortunately I didn't realise it was empty! Used the small soap bar but it wasn't very lathery, as we were only staying for one night and the description advised that washing facilities were included. The bed was very hard and, unfortunately for my husband and self we both have arthritis plus we are 75-77. I informed the cleaner re soap dispenser being empty his reply was oh not sure if she understood. On checking out I politely advised that the soap dispenser was empty and that I was only telling her so she was aware and could pass it onto cleaners, I may well not have bothered because it was evident she didn't care

Evening meal was lovely. As we don't eat breakfast, the staff were happy to swap.

Arrived Saturday afternoon and we were welcomed by the receptionist who was helpful and polite. The room was spacious and bright. It seems like the room had been updated, the bathroom most definitely had. Large bathroom and shower which was also bright. We attended a Charity soul event for the Sunday and the bar staff did us all proud. We had only booked room only for the weekend so we never had the breakfast. The beds were reasonably comfortable so I did sleep well after a few beers and dances. We will be staying here again as it is a good hotel.

The Wi-fi was not that good, my wife was frustrated with it as it kept dropping in and out. I did not use it myself.

The hotel being dog friendly! It's location was ideal.the room had been updated and was spacious clean and quiet.the prices in the bar were good value and the price of our stay was very good valuefor money. There was entertainment on every night although it was aimed at the older guests.easy access to coffee tea sugar and milk at the reception to keep us topped up.bar open everyday from 3pm.option off ordering breakfast and evening meal and afternoon tea.it did have a cosy homely feel to it overall happy with this hotel.

Very squeaky floorboards.no room service for our stay so stinky bins . We couldn't connect to the WiFi even the reception couldn't for the whole of our stay.needs easier access at the main entrance hard work juggling heavy luggage and a dog through the older heavy revolving doors.

I have stayed at this hotel many times prior to it's refurbishment and liked it but it felt dated, if not a little jaded even. However I am very impressed by the modernisation indeed. Our room was bright, fresh and immaculate.could not fault the bedroom or the bathroom. All positive and comfortable bed thrown in🙂. Staff were welcoming and helpful. More than competitively priced for the standards given. Definitely will return. 👍

Only snag that I encountered was that I paid for 3 days parking at the hotel but had to park,and pay again, on street meters on Saturday afternoon due to an organized event being held at the hotel. Those attending, competitors as well as spectators, filled the car park completely. This was probably unavoidable but still annoying as my partner has mobility problems which is why I paid for hotel parking!
