THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND WELL KEPT AND THE ENTERTAINMENT WAS GOOD ON THE 2 NIGHTS WE STAYED

THE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD BUT WE GOT THERE ABOUT 8.30 AND THE BACON EGGS MUSHROOMS AND SAUSAGES WERE BEARLY WARM THE BEANS AND TOMATOES AND THE SCRAMMBLED EGG WERE OK ALSO DOGS SITTING ON THE SEATS IN THE LOUNGE IN THE EVENINGS

Location fantastic

We stay at the prince of wales a lot we love the location staff are friendly. The breakfast is okay, but lunch and diner menu is awful. we've made numerous attempts to dine looking at the menu, giving it a go, but it's dry, cold, awful, really needs addressing lots of customers, complain about it when sitting in the lounge you here it a lot I'm sure if this was looked at and better menu put in place your ratings would go up. Morrisons do a better menu and the food is hot and really nice enjoyabl. Also we've had really bad rooms and nasty smells and we've asked to move

The room was really nice. Bathroom very modern, nice fixtures and decor, clean and spacious. Impressed with the amount if clothes storage . Room was comfortable and spacious.

The shower cream/hair wash dispenser was empty unfortunately I didn't realise it was empty! Used the small soap bar but it wasn't very lathery, as we were only staying for one night and the description advised that washing facilities were included. The bed was very hard and, unfortunately for my husband and self we both have arthritis plus we are 75-77. I informed the cleaner re soap dispenser being empty his reply was oh not sure if she understood. On checking out I politely advised that the soap dispenser was empty and that I was only telling her so she was aware and could pass it onto cleaners, I may well not have bothered because it was evident she didn't care

The location was excellent The staff were lovely and helpful The food was well cooked and appetising The evening entertainment was good The room was clean and comfortable He drink was reasonably priced The hotel had a good buzzy atmosphere The building is old and elegant

The room was not serviced once in 4 days We had to go to reception for new toilet rolls and clean towels The food was good but slightly repetitive The breakfast ends too early at 9.30, it should go on till 10 am

We like to visit Southport and the £42 room was too good to miss. Bed breakfast and dinner for total of £87 a bargain. Room was spacious comfortable and had everything we needed.

Small elevator which was often to full making me carry luggage up/ down stairs. I am 66 and can still manage but others may not. Room furniture is a little on cheap side. For price we paid not an issue for us . Was too hot would have liked a fan . In dining room noticed a lot of people with mobility issues struggling down steps .Pillow was too bulky opted for a cushion.

Lovely large executive twin room. Even though the room was directly above the entrance, we were not disturbed at all by people outside. Soundproofing seems very good because we were not disturbed by people in the next room, even though there was an adjoining door to the room, that had been disabled. The breakfast was basic but plentiful.You could also ask for gluton free sausages and gluten-free toast. The soups in the evening meal were all very nice.

The evening meal buffet options were limited to 3 each night. The options included, for example, turkey, ham, fish cakes, chicken curry, fish goujons, usually roast potatoes, sometimes new potatoes. Apart from cabbage one night, the vegetables, including the potatoes, appeared to be from the freezer.

1st room way to small with case and wheelchair very dark plus in the bottom of hotel. Next room very good larger,plus armchairs to relax after walking around and my hubby to relax as he is my carer and push my wheelchair. We have ..really enjoyed past stays at prince of Wales.All staff are polite and helpful,we also enjoy the food cook to perfection, tastefully and choices of what we enjoy. Will be back later in coming months Thank you .

Please read the above comment's. Would have liked to stay longer maybe next time with a good deal.But the bedding to small,no choice of pillows TV to small for size of room ,even when awsy I still likes to watch the programs we like and better choice to watch. by the way tv needs checking as the heads are cut off so no point trying to watch my programs or anyone else in that room.

The hotel is extremely under rated with stunning architecture and history, the staff could tell I have a keen interest as they happily took time out to show me the ball room and explain the history of the hotel. Staff was absolutely fantastic, room was higher than expectations for what we paid and great location. Also no bother about leaving at 2 in the morning to get food! After checking out we could leave our bags in the locked store room all day as we was only leaving later that night with no problems at all. All this for £45! I would definitely stay again!

Absolutely nothing.

Loved it till the Sunday night I am disabled where I have to go round the side to go up the ramp to get into the building it was about 10:45 11ish and my good friends with me got up the ramp to go into the building they were locked looked around for bell No bell so one of my friends turn around and went I will go around the front and ask them to open it for you so me and my other friend was waiting up the ramp my as my friend went down the stairs he felt and cut is ring finger on the left in fact he took the top of it off it was bleeding something rotten then my other friend run down to him and they they went to round to the front the bellboy or whatever you call them came and opened the door for me and never even said to my friends what have you done anything like that never even put it in the accident book so then I went down to my room as he'd opened the doors for me and my card wouldn't work for me so then I had to go back up in the lift as I was on the ground floor and ask for another key as the assistant set to me I can let you in or give you another key I said well if you let me in that big better because I've got another card in my room to hand in the morning to say that I've left the room so when I got in my room everything was great then till the next morning when I went to ham my cards in and there was a lovely receptionist on cannot remember a name sorry but she was absolutely lovely to about what happened the night before and she put it in the accident book and she couldn't apologize even more she even said they've been waiting six months to have a bell put around the side with the ramper so that was my story but I still go back to the Prince of Wales.

Very clean, staff happy and chatty, food amazing and very good value for money. The building is beautiful, we had a sneaky peek at the ballroom .... wow .... what a wedding venue it would be. We absolutely will be coming back, particularly for the beef 😋

The door at the bottom of the stairs into the bedroom floor on the lower level (-1) needs a silicone pad to soften the door banging into the casing, as it really did vibrate into our room. Also the bar man, though polite, when collecting glasses, really should give the tables a quick wipe. The bar was quiet, he was collecting a glass or two and straightening chairs but the tables were full of sticky glass marks. Other than those 2 tiny things, our stay really was fab.
