I had an amazing stay at The Poet Hotel in La Spezia! From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding. Isabel was particularly fantastic—so warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The entire team was lovely and made me feel welcome, ensuring a smooth and quick check-in, even earlier than expected, which was a great bonus. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, making it super convenient for exploring La Spezia and catching the train to Cinque Terre. The tea-making facilities in the reception area were a lovely touch, perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. My room was a great size, clean, and well-equipped with modern amenities, including Netflix on the TV, which was a nice perk. The bed was comfortable, and the overall ambiance of the hotel was stylish yet cozy. I would highly recommend The Poet Hotel for anyone visiting La Spezia—amazing staff, great facilities, and a perfect location!

Our stay was great and overall our experience was positive, I have nothing negative to say only a note to maybe consider having coffee / tea making facilities in the rooms. While there was readily available facilities in reception and the team couldn't be more helpful sometimes it can be inconvenient to leave the room in the night to make a cup of tea.

Breakfast options were good. Room spacious and well appointed. Nice to have a safe parking garage available (booked in advance).

Overall the staff were quite rude, rudest guest service I have experienced on a 4 week trip across Europe (mostly italy), didn’t matter if it was front desk, staff in kitchen or otherwise, they seemed very unhappy to be there. Always got what I needed but definitely wasn’t greeted with much enthusiasm for any request. General comment re. La Spezia, quiet ish town, we used as a base to commute to Cinque Terre which was perfectly ok. Felt Marginally unsafe with some questionable characters on most street corners appearing to scope out targets, definitely need to be alert.

The Poet is super convenient to the Train Station. Since we were constantly using the train to visit the 5 Terre, that was really nice! We were also close to shopping, restaurants, and bars. The neighborhood felt safe even at night and our balcony was nice! I also want to add that I was a bit nervous due to the reports of bed bugs, but we absolutely did not have any and checked incredibly thoroughly. If you’re on the fence, book it. We had a lot of fun!

I do wish they’d had a larger elevator, so we didn’t have to take turns moving our large luggage. Besides that, everything was great and we mostly used the gorgeous staircase

* Location: Very good, about 500m from La Spezia Central train station, making it a good basecamp for visiting Cinque Terre. Close to bus stops where you can take busses to Porto Venere or Lerici. Also, close to Via del Prione (pedestrianized shopping street) as well as the harbor. Multiple supermarkets within a few blocks radius. The hotel itself is on a less-frequented alleyway, thus nights were quiet. * Overall, good price-performance ratio, with trendy look, modern facilities and helpful, friendly staff.

* Bathroom: On the first day after checking-in, we stayed in the room for ~20 min then went out for dinner. Upon our return, we discovered a major water leak near the shower-booth, creating a huge puddle while we were away. Staff came, inspected, and could not find the reason. The hotel was fully-booked, so they couldn't offer another room. Thankfully, the leak didn't happen for the rest of our stay. We should note that the staff lady was friendly and tried what she could.

The room was large, spacious and very clean and modern. The extra large double bed were two smaller beds placed together almost to give a super king size. There were charging ports on the bedframe which were useful too. The breakfast had a great selection. It was a good base for our travels to Cinque Terre and close to walk to La Spezia Centrale station.

Nothing! The lift was a bit small but not a big issue.

Hotel is easy walk to the train station, close to farmers market, shopping and the water. Staff and vibe were amazing! Bed was one of the most comfortable beds we stayed in during our week around Italy!

We loved everything about the hotel. The staff went above and beyond to take care of us. They called cabs, provided glassware for wine we brought back, and booked a sunset cruise for us. We did not try the breakfast, but it looked great.

The Poet is a very welcoming, fresh and modern hotel situated not too far from the train station. We checked in early and left our bags with reception. The room was large, with a nice comfy bed and all the facilities one would require. Only a short walk down into the town centre, so a great location for exploring La Spezia (which is an absolute gem).

The fridge in the room was a little too noisy for our liking, but we still managed to get a good nights sleep.

I visited the Hotel Poet's on a business trip. The hotel staff were amazing. Their pre arrival communications on What's App to assist with parking arrangements and other enquiries was very responsive. The front desk team were so friendly and assisted with restaurant recommendations and local taxi transfers. They made me feel really welcome. I'll be staying again on my next trip.

What stands out above everything else at The Poet Hotel is the staff, especially the front desk staff (but also breakfast and cleaning staff). They were so friendly, patient, accommodating and concerned with our needs. Breakfast was outstanding, as were the facilities. The Poet Hotel is located within a short walk (15 min) from the La Spezia Train Station, and close to lots of great bars and restaurants.

The Poet hotel is in a great location. Close to the main strip, train and ferry for Cinque Terre. It is a bit different to other places we have stayed in Italy. Shops and restaurants open and close earlier. The room we stayed in was spacious and modern. We had a lovely terrace that we made good use of. The shower is the best one we've had this trip. Great shower head. The bed was very comfortable too.The breakfast was great. Lots of choice and great coffee. The staff were very friendly and helpful

The hotel supports Trafalgar so getting a table for breakfast can be difficult if you go down for opening. It is worth the wait
