The room was lovely and adequate for us but it was very small and we heard lots of people complaining about the size. If I am really going to be picky if the bed had been rotated round to face either the window or the harbour view it would have led to perfectation rather than laying in bed looking at the overhang of the next door balcony. Having said that, the view was outstanding; this is not a complaint, just an observation! Breakfast was very nice and the room from the bar area is nothing short of superb! The huge lump of granite in the reception area seems to cause a lot of comment, let's just say but wasn't a problem to us!

We had a bijou room with a great sea view. The balcony would have been used more in warmer weather. The staff were mostly excellent (the person on reception was a little brusque on our arrival). The cooked breakfast options were good and well presented. The dinner menu was more limited but good. The location was excellent - an easy walk to the town, attractions and restaurants.

The bathroom could have had more hooks or ways to hang towels. There was nowhere to put cases (cabin size!). The steps from the car park to the hotel was awkward when carrying a case (this needs to be assessed for health and safety and other options to help guests considered). It was cheaper to pay the daily car park charges oneself rather than take up the hotel offer and this should be reviewed. The dinner menu should have more vegetarian options e.g. we had a cheese souffle as a starter elsewhere.

The location is superb, the staff are very helpful and the refurbished rooms and establishment are lovely

Let me preface this by saying that our stay was a couple of days before the official re-opening. The windows of our room were dirty on the outside, I leant out of the window and cleaned them myself as best I could with tissue paper. The ocean view was impeded by scaffolding which was disappointing. Breakfast on Sunday morning was chaotic with one hard working lady totally overwhelmed by taking people to their table, taking orders, waiting and trying to keep self service supplies replenished. There was staff around but no one seemed to help her. If I knew her name I would single her out for praise.

The hotel was stunning and the views top notch. Beautiful beach right next door and staff very attentive. We were celebrating an anniversary and the staff made sure we had a wonderful dining table right by the window and surprised us with a Prosecco and card!!!! Sweetest gesture to make our experience even better. Dinner was delicious, I must recommend the mussels. Thank you to the entire team for making it so special. Would highly recommend Pedn Olva and would love to return to see the finishing touches for the terrace. 💕

They were still finishing off work when we stayed. Only just opened. Staff were a little stressed at times as were new. It would be nice to have a lounge area for residents only as the bar , restaurant areas were very crowded with outside guests. There was a downstairs staircase that was blocked off that may be for that purpose when fully opened.?

Great hotel on the rocks and great views. Great location to walk to the beaches and around St Ives. The hotel itself is quite outdated - but I understand that they are planning a major renovation soon. My room was lovely and spacious and had lovely views of the sea. The bed was very comfortable. The hot breakfast options were good. The fruit in the cold selection would run out quite quickly (but I did turn up around 9.30am - so perhaps earlier customers had better selection). The day menu is ok - there are better places to have lighter meals. The staff are all really helpful and friendly. I emailed a couple of times before my stay to check on parking etc, and they were very responsive.

Cleanliness - the place was quite dusty in areas.

Hotel was a little tired looking but we heard it is due to close soon for a refurb. Also being charged £15 a day to secure parking in a car park which only cost £6.30 per day so spent £17.40 more than we needed to. This may be good value in high season to be able to book a space but not in January. We should have been advised that there may be spaces available in low season, turns out there were lots of spaces available.

Wonderful view from my room of rocks, sea and St Ives harbour. I had a single but it was cosy and quite big enough for me. Good to be able to adjust the temperature on the radiator. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Very pleasant bar/lounge area and dining room overlooking the beach and it didn't feel awkward to be eating on my own. Generous breakfasts and I must mention a superb risotto for dinner. Just a flight of stone steps down from St Ives station (very small) and a short walk to the hotel. On the quieter side of the harbour but just a few minutes' walk into the centre of the town.

Me and my wife travelled down from Kent after works upon arrival in the early hours of the morning we was welcomed in with a smooth transition we was also offered a drink at the bar even though it was closed so we took a seat had a drink and kick started our short break, the staff and the level of service is the best we have come across and I don't say this lightly I believed this level of service, didn't exist any more great work great staff great service excellent location stunning views.

From our stay nothing..... if anything room size could have been bigger but would just be picking had a wonderful time

The view from the room as well as the restaurant is amazing! I could look at it all day. The room was clean and the decor looked new, a comfortable bed—a very nice bathroom and shower. Great facilities, more than the basic. A delicious breakfast and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is in a beautiful location right on the beach. Highly recommended.
