The location was very good for walking into the historic centre, and for getting a bus, and for finding local places to eat. It was great to have a kettle in the room. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All areas of the hotel seemed clean and bright. The bed was very large and comfortable.

More coat hooks, coat hangers, and towel hooks would have been useful. There was no mirror in the room - just in the bathroom. It would have been better to have power sockets near each side of the bed. Although there was a kettle in the room there was no milk, and most people who make tea and/or coffee probably use milk as well. The toilet flush had an intermittent fault.

We stayed here as it was the most convenient from the airport. The hotel was really well located for the train station.... If you're planning to journey along that coast? Just a short walk. Also well located to explore the town. We had little time available for this but next time will stay a few extra nights to explore the town before moving on along the coast.. there is a bus available to return to the airport just outside the station. It was all easy and convenient. The rooms were comfortable and there are minimarkets and restaurants close by.. Great hotel

Old building with thick walls and a high ceiling. Our room was right near the dining area, but we did not hear a thing due to the wall's thickness. Spacious room and the bathroom. It was hot outside, so the room was being cooled by AC and a fan. We were able to leave our luggage after check-out, which was very convenient. Also, the hotel is located near the train station, which was really good since we arrived during a rainstorm and were able to reach the hotel quickly without umbrellas.

Location excellent, 3 minute walk from main Principe Railway Station where the Airport Bus stops. Convenient if using train service to visit Portofino and nearby beaches. Kelly on reception was exceptional from moment of arrival. Although located on a busy city centre street, the windows are double if not triple glazed and you are able to get comfortable sleep. Air Conditioning is provided. We had problem one evening with ours and reception arranged Maintenance to come and resolve in less than 20 minutes. All public areas have a wonderful, fresh, clean smell. For the size of hotel, a good choice at breakfast. We had two early starts and reception arranged breakfast items in our room the previous evening.

Room decor rather bland and we had just two hangers provided on the hanging rail. The shower room has a cubicle which some people might have trouble getting out off,as shower door is narrow. However, when built these rooms would not have needed bathroom space so it is the price for staying in a building of historic character rather than a modern chain. There is no lift but the Hotel does make this clear on their website.

Ideal location for a stopover on my way to and from Viareggio- I could see the station from my window! Lovely friendly reception staff who remembered me and my details when I stayed again on my way back. Quite a quirky layout in an old building- you go through a lobby with a piano on the way to breakfast in a pretty room with a frescoed ceiling. Would stay again on future rail trips to Italy.

During my first stay I couldn't get the air-con to work. I'm sure the staff would have been helpful if I'd asked, but it wasn't that hot and I just opened the window. On the way back in a different room it worked fine.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Just a few steps from the train station. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly, they told us where we could go and also informed us of where to find good restaurants. The breakfast at the hotel was good. They also treated us with great kindness and respect. The day we left the city was a few hours after check-out at the hotel, and they very kindly kept our bags until the time we left the city. Thank you girls.! In general everything in this hotel was excellent!

We loved this hotel, great location. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and pillows. Great shower and a small fridge. On our first night there was a problem with the room as there was some building work opposite going on. Staff moved us to a different room which was lovely. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. There is a stunning sitting room for guests to relax in with books and sofas. Breakfast was really great, lots of choices and value for money. Staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Lots of places to eat on Via Balbi with welcoming faces, again value for money restaurants, unpretentious and friendly. We were 5 minutes walk from the railway station which reaches many parts of Italy. Recommended.

The best thing about this hotel was the location. I cannot stress enough how close it was to everything, the train station was two minutes away, the old port only five and the main piazza and unesco sites were a 10-15 minute walk. All the staff were very friendly and the hotel was lovely and clean. Perfect for what we needed and fantastic value.

The room was smaller than I’d expected. But still a good size for what we needed, however more storage space would have been nice.

The Hotel was in a very good location - close to the train station, not far from the port, close to good restaurants and within walking distance of some of the major attractions. The staff were all friendly, helpful and caring - I arrived early and felt very unwell and they allowed me to wait upstairs till my room was ready, they tried to get it ready faster for me and checked that I did not need additional medical help. The room was cosy and had everything I needed. The waiting room upstairs and breakfast room were beautifully decorated.

The carpet was a bit stained and needed replacing. My airconditioner did not work well so the room was a little stuffy and opening the window made it too noisy. It would have been nice to have a wholewheat bread option with breakfast and the espresso from the machine in the breakfast room was never hot.

Everything was perfect from the receptionist Kerry, who gave is great tips what to visit in Genoa to friendly staff at the breakfast. The room was clean and well equipped. Tv, fridge, AC everything that we would possibly need. The breakfast was delicious

I guess the room needs some touch ups. However, I assume the price would be more expensive. You get already good value for what you pay :)
