Location was fantastic. , dispite been given a heads up about outside noise ,it actually didn't effect us and what noise they was , was just the normal external nosie you exspect .Room was spotless and warm , The bed was super comfortable, Shops/cafes and attractions all with in walking distance Offered discounts in sister pubs for food and drink The room was very spacious and plenty of windows , The bathroom is also big , just needed a little maintenance All in all , it's a very nice little place

The stairs are very steep up to the rooms , although this cant be helps , it maybe something people need to concider when booking ,The room / unsuite could do with a little maintenance, eg the shower tray was missing sealant, the shower head needs de-scalling Table lamp shade wobbly , the chair saw a little unsteady

The location was really central and historical, it is close to the river and right above a few nice pubs and close to the Dungeon (recommended). The room was very quiet at night and the bed was really comfortable and big; the bathroom was big and the shower was great! A smart tv available too. The staff was super nice and kind; the Hotel offers a 25% discount on the breakfast at their facilitites: food is great and so is the coffee.

The only window present was small and looking on the pigeons' net and it would not stay open on its own. Steep stairs to get up to the room at the second floor, but nothing too bad.

Because of the old building, the stairs and hall wall look rather run down , but the rooms are lovely furnished, modern en-suite . Tea and coffee making facilities. Bed is comfy, clean and crisp linens. Food next door is Amazing , proper home cooked food, a real English breakfast. The staff are lovely and polite, also had the pleasure to meet the owners who took time to make sure everything was as we needed it. Located next to the river was lovely on a warm night to sit and have a drink after our theatre visit which was only 200m up the rd.

Lack of parking , but that can't be helped

It was ok ish overall, probably much better to go on the summer time. Well located, close to the shops and attractions

It was really cold in the room , no extra heater and the radiators were barely warm. The shower pressure was very low and hard to set up the temperature. We have paid extra to get the room with the view over the river but the bed headboard is really tall and is covering the window and unless you’re standing up on the bed , you can’t see the river… Also old wardrobe, seemed flimsy to open so we didn’t use it.

Everything was clean and spacious, big comfy bed, gorgeous room. Close to everything. Staff were very friendly and helpful, food and drinks were very nice. 24 hour access where you are free to come and go when you please. Great value, great place lovely atmosphere. Will be back in the future. Can drop bags off prior to checking in, which was very helpful, kept in a safe place till checking in so very handy if you don’t want to carry drag them around everywhere.

Room was very nice, and the bathroom in the room was great, not having to go out of your room to go to the bathroom was brilliant. Plenty of storage if you’re staying a while

We asked for a river view and the headboard of the bed was blocking it, although there wasn’t really anywhere else for the bed to go. Stairs were steep but it’s an old building so that was expected

Location was spot on and the view of the river and bridge from my room was worth it. Attention to detail, even got some towel art placed on the bed very elegant. Last one, the shower gel - branded name and makes you not want to finish showering lol. Room 8 I think on the corner side window and main river window. I will definitely stay again.

It was Just a little noisy late evening but it was to be expected as it mentioned on previous reviews. But definitely DID NOT spoil the overall stay

The room was very basic, we had to ask for a bedside lamp and the television never worked although they got someone in to repair it.

I picked it out of desperation because my first choices were fully booked, and I wasn't expecting much because the price was surprisingly low for the location and the season. Happily, it exceeded my expectations in all areas, and it will be my first choice in future.

There was a lot of noise from nearby bars in the late afternoon (to be fair, the reviews had prepared me for this). But as I was out all evening, I didn't care, and by the time I was back in the late evening it was quieter than I would ever expect from a city location. So no problem at all if you're just looking for a bed for the night, but you might think twice if you're looking for a quiet evening in.

The stairs and entrance way could do with freshening and checking in was tricky due to how busy the pub was. We had to wait at the bar while people got served - a dedicated check in area would be preferable. Was noisy outside with people drinking by the riverside but we were warned about this. Once in the room with the fan on (it was boiling hot) we couldn’t hear anything from outside
