As a female solo traveler, Hotel Centrale was a perfect accommodation. The hotel has everything that I need. It is close to many shops, cafes, and restaurants. There is also a nearby grocery store where you can buy toiletries, snacks, and other essentials whenever needed. Although the hotel is located in the center, it is never unruly or noisy. It is also within walking distance of the major attractions and sightseeing in Bologna. The breakfast was superb, with a lot of great selections of croissants, bread, pastries, jams, juices, coffee and tea, eggs, and bacon. Check-in was seamless and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. If I were to visit Bologna, I'd definitely stay with Hotel Centrale again.

Hotel breakfast was really excellent!. Lots of choices and the opening time was very good. Staff people were very kind in all, if something was missing, they were ready to help and react. Hotel is really well located close to everything in the city.

I found the room temperature a bit too warm. Especially in the night had to keep window open which worked fine. Also the pillow were bit too hard to me.

Nothing to fault. Excellent location, just a few minutes walk from main piazza, two towers, via indipendiaza, train station, Venice canal view point. Nice little bar across the street for a peaceful nightcap. In the centre of everything, but one street back from the main street so very peaceful and calm at night. Also so many excellent restaurants for all budgets and a big supermarket a few mins walk. This was the only hotel that we stayed at during our 2 week trip to offer breakfast. Scrambled eggs to die for! Hot bacon, cold meats, cheese, yogurt, fresh fruit and fresh fruit salad, lovely breads and preserves. More pastry varieties than I have ever seen! And, most important, 2 decent coffee machines. Family run, very friendly and helpful people. We could store our bags before check in and check out. They also called a taxi for us to go to the airport as it was raining very heavily today when we left. Free toiletries, shower cap, vanity set. Really good shower in bathroom. The biggest bed I have ever slept in. Brilliant WiFi. Would recommend to anyone spending time in this beautiful city.

Not a criticism of the hotel but just to advise people to inform yourselves of the city tax and you need to pay that at reception when you're checking out, so keep some cash! I had looked this up in advance.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Hotel Centrale during the first and last nights of our first-ever trip to Italy! Traveling as a party of three, we unanimously agreed that this was our favorite hotel experience of the entire week-long adventure. The staff truly elevated our stay. We interacted with two receptionists and a delightful woman who managed the breakfast area—all of whom were incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. For our 1st night, we stayed in a cozy studio apartment located away from the main property. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The master bed was exceptionally comfortable, while the pullout bed, though a bit squeaky, served its purpose for a good night's sleep. The studio included a kitchenette, which we didn’t use but appreciated having available. The bathroom was large and stocked with shampoo that left hair feeling soft (a small but noteworthy detail!). Returning for our final night, we stayed in a triple room in the main building. This exceeded all our expectations—the photos simply don’t do it justice! The room was surprisingly spacious, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully equipped with a table, kettle, mugs, tea, coffee, and cookies for a cozy touch. The renovated, modern bathroom was another highlight. We were pleased to find two pillows per person, as the other hotels we visited provided only one per guest. The breakfast was a delightful way to start the day. The spread included a variety of pastries, breads, cold cuts, cheeses, and fresh tomatoes, alongside some fruits. The hot options featured scrambled eggs and a type of salami. Yogurt, juices, coffee, and tea rounded out the selection. For those who prefer dining out, the hotel is surrounded by an abundance of charming cafés and restaurants. Overall, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Italy—it truly set a high standard for our trip. Thank you, Hotel Centrale, for making our trip memorable!

Our only minor challenge was with the doors and locks, but this was more of a cultural adjustment than an issue specific to the hotel. We occasionally pushed when we should have pulled (and vice versa), and locking doors required some trial and error. That said, these quirks underscored the sense of security provided by the hotel. + while the wifi was great in the triple room (main building), it was significantly weaker in the studio apartment (separate building).

A delightful stay! The check-in staff was friendly, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The location was convenient—close to both the center and the station, with plenty of delicious restaurants nearby. Breakfast offered a great selection of Italian pastries, making mornings extra enjoyable. Highly recommended for a comfortable and tasty stay!

The room could use a couple of small upgrades. Some coat hangers by the entrance would be super handy, and brighter lighting at the bathroom mirror would make it easier to use. Just little tweaks like these would make the stay even more comfortable!

The apartments are located in the building across the street from the hotel. The rooms have high ceilings, over three meters, but very warm in winter thanks to the large cast iron radiators that were permanently heated. It was quiet on the stairs, there was never any noise, I didn't see anyone through the window either, just overlapping roofs. Breakfast is served on the ground floor of the hotel and is varied, satisfying almost anyone: slices of ham and cheese, omelette, pies, various croissants, yogurts, clementines and bananas. Coffee machine with probably good coffee if you were judging by the people's faces, but I'm not a coffee drinker.

There were only Italian channels on the TV and no matter how beautiful the language seems, at some point you still want to hear some English.

It was a lovely and cozy hotel. The location was perfect, very close to pretty much everything, the old city, museums, train and bus stations. Breakfast was satisfactory. Only I personally expected some Mediterrenian touch such olives, different type of cheese, tomatoes and cucumber (typical Turkish breakfast style 😃). My friend was quite happy though with all those gustoso pastries and I was ok with scrambled eggs, fresh bread and fruit salad. The staff from the front desk and especially the room service were so kind and helpful. We loved our room so much. Especially the skylight. Bologna was so refreshing and soothing. I definitely would go there again and stay at Hotel Centrale.

Well, although I knew that there was a city tax, we have not told that when we arrived the hotel. I usually am used to pay the tax in advance, when I check in. So I was surprised when the front desk staff told us to pay it when we were checking out and my friend -who did not know about the city tax at all- was also surprised. We kept some cash for the taxi and did not want to use credit cards, but we had to.

the hotel is very central, you can walk everywhere in the old town. the staff was very friendly, breakfast was great with many different choices. we stayed in one of the apartments across the street - the room was big and clean, bed was ok, the heating was working well. we had to pay the city tax at the checkout - we would have prefered to be charged at the check-in.

the kitchen was unfortunately not very well equiped, and the bathroom could use a little update (or at least an extra shelve or hooks on the wall)

The location of this small hotel is AMAZING. Walking distance to literally everything you could need. Friendly staff, breakfast included (which wasnt spectacular but had all the basics you could want) was in a quite area so no issues of noise in the evenings. Plus a great family run restaurant 2 meters from the front door!

Bathrooms are quite small but that is to be expected in Italy, just made it difficuly for me personally as Im 6'1
