This is a fantastic guesthouse. It’s located a stones throw from the railway station, Grand Place and the whole centre of Brussels and all its attractions easy flat walking. Very easy to find, easy access with key code and great check in and out - you can leave your bags if you arrive early too. The room was lovely, a great en-suite with toiletries kettle tea etc provided too. Our window faced an office block but wasn’t a problem as there were blinds for night - interesting to watch staff on treadmills & bicycles whilst working! The breakfast was fantastic and as we don’t eat a lot so we didn’t do it the justice it deserved. Lovely welcoming, friendly feel and Sophie was a pleasure. There’s a great little “traditional” bar just across the road too We would stay here again anytime - just delightful

The stairs are a little tight so could be a problem for some maybe but a lovely quirk of the building too

I really enjoyed my stay at Happy Guesthouse and felt right at home straight away during my first trip to Brussels - Sophie and her staff were very welcoming and attentive and the service they provided was excellent. The room was exactly as described and as seen in the photos and was perfect for my three night stay - the location was perfect, just a few minutes walk from Grand Place, Brussels Central station, supermarkets etc. and only a 5 minute or so taxi ride from Brussels Midi station. I really enjoyed the breakfast and Sophie organised take-out breakfast at my request when I had to leave early, this included fresh croissants and freshly squeezed orange juice which were delicious. Thank you to Sophie and her team for a great stay!!

We arrived early and were welcomed to have our room early as it was ready. We were even able to have some of the mornings breakfast. We were given a map and recommendations of places to visit and eat specifically for our dietary requirements. Every recommendation exceeded our expectation. Sophie is a great host and Sophie was amazing at explaining everything and was accommodating of all of our needs throughout our stay. We checked out later than expected, and that was also accommodated with no hesitation. We would absolutely stay again on our next visit.

There was nothing that I did not like.

Close to everything; Grand Place, train station, restaurants everywhere and of course the CHOCOLATE. The bed was super comfortable. Plenty of outlets for all our electronics.The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Sophie and staff were always cheerful and helpful. There was nothing I didn't like. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

The room is clean and tidy. All amenities for a short stay. Windows open for fresh air. Towells and toiletries all provided and good quality. Bed very large and comfortable.

Nothing for me, but if you have reduced mobility the stairs in the property will be difficult, very steep!

The breakfast was excellent and suited my individual taste.

The stairs were a problem for anyone with knee, age related or mobility issues, and unfortunately I couldn't see any indication of this in the advertising material on booking.com. The road noise was a massive problem also, which took several nights for me to adjust to, therefore my 7 night stay was devoid of much sleep. Other than that, it was a clean, delightful property suitable for the 20 - 30's age group, who were not very tall. Unfortunately, too uncomfortable for tall men, and people who have problems with stairs. The host, Sophie was a delightful and helpful person. I met Matilde also, who was lovely.

Overall excellent value for money for a night in central Brussels. Great location close to train station and key land marks. Communication ahead of check in from host was excellent. Clean modern room and facilities exactly as pictured, liked the minimalist design and wood, it’s a clever use of space.

Loved the location and especially the homemade breakfast. The owner is really friendly and the rooms are clean. The heater in our room (3rd floor) was working which was relevant for us as it was a bit cold outside. It was a perfect stay. :)

There is nothing that I can think of, it was a pleasant stay. Just would like to make some small mentions. Take in consideration that there are 4 floors without an elevator with a narrow staircase. And you might want to bring your own shower gel, it was not replaced during our stay.

The location is amazing, but... Keep in mind the old picturesque houses are very very small. The biggest challenge is "dragging" your suitcase to the room. Very narrow stairs (if coming with a big suitcase, you might want to consider leaving the luggage in the lobby :) might give you an experience of a lifetime. The room on the 4th floor has a small balcony, but what you can really see are the rooftops of the neighboring houses. The good news is when you reach the room, the beds are comfy and if you're renovating your tiny bathroom, you can find plenty of nice ideas here. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and they make eggs, if you ask them to and the stuff is super nice.

Location was perfect for my needs, arriving and departing by train and wanted ease of seeing major attractions. Liked that I was supporting a small historic owner guesthouse. Safe and relatively quiet for an urban street.

Confusing directions about how to gain entry. I wrote several emails a couple of days ahead begging for the entry code promised 48 hours in advance, no response. Finally at 11PM the day before I was leaving for the property and all internet access behind, the code and other directions arrived. Created lots of extra pressure as no onsite staff. But all worked out OK. Boy, the stairs are a killer if you have 2 suitcases as I did. If you cannot do stars and lift heavy objects don't stay there. The rooms are tiny even for one person, cute but I never paid more for less space. Thought a bit expensive for the stairs and space and the stress of entry, but sweet well meaning owner there for breakfast. A close call if you like to support such places, as I do.
