Lovely friendly staff. Clean large room. One of the only options available in the area.

Very expensive considering how 'dated' it is. Rooms have been painted and given new soft furnishings etc in an attempt to update them but....they charge a similar amount to hotels in the city that include a pool, gym and restaurant. Also......have stayed there twice now and each time had small (but annoying) things wrong with the room that indicate a lack of care when rooms are being serviced (such as refillable soap and bathsalts containers being empty and no spare roll of toilet paper being provided).

This is one of the most friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff is extremely nice! We stayed in two connected rooms. Very good cooked breakfast delivered to the room. The rooms are big and the bathrooms are big. There is kitchen equipment available in the room. The beach is on the other side of the road (probably 50 meters walk). The restaurant is in the town, a few minutes nice walk. The internet WiFi connection is super fast with a good coverage. The hotel was well located for us as we wanted to visit Shakspear Park. It is just about one hour drive from Auckland. Have I told that the staff is extremely friendly, nice and just wonderful? After checkout we were offered towels to enjoy beach longer. We gave the towels back to the hotel in the afternoon long after checkout. Thank you, that helped us a lot.

It is hard to find any downsides of the hotel. But if we really try to hard something that could be: - we were located on the upper floor and there is no elevator, - the check-in is officialy till 18:00 (6pm) only, what can be somehow problematic for some tourists (but in such case the staff can help and wait longer, but just need to be informed).

Wonderful lodge with lovely hosts. Very clean and well equipped Motel close to beach. We had a warm welcoming and live the place.

The only reason not giving 10/10 was the construction in room next door what waked us with drilling and hammering. Understandable that works have to be carried out to maintain this wonderful place but an Information in advance would have been appreciated. Besides that it was a wonderful place I can recommend

Excellent in all respects, from the warm welcome and ready supply of local information, to being personally shown to the room, the room itself being spacious, well equipped and furnished with everything spotlessly clean, and the offer to help with luggage. This was the last night of 42 nights touring the length and breadth of NZ, and without doubt this was the best motel of the lot. It cost a touch more than the average, but not by much (and elsewhere we had on a couple of occasions paid a good deal more for considerably less) - but was more than worth the extra $50 or so. Thoroughly recommended.

Absolutely nothing, hence 10/10 (which I’d rarely give, as to earn this, everything has to be pretty much perfect).

Nice comfortable lodgings with a great spa tub and kitchennete. Manly village closeby with excellent options for food and groceries. Nearby beaches, and nice bird Sanctuary. We found it perfect for a lazy vacation with time on beach, walks and hike and drove out for a couple of nice day tours. Staff was friendly.

Nothing that struck as not to be liked.

Fantastic place. Loved the little touches like a handwritten welcome note and stash of books and magazines available to read while there. The room was larger than most and exceptionally clean. Shower had great pressure and the location straight across from the beach was lovely. Looking forward to staying again when the owners are there so we can try the gourmet breakfast they offer as we've heard it's amazing!

Nothing....it was fantastic!

The breakfast was delicious, on time and a lovely additional extra to order. Sandy and Glen were very welcoming, after hours check in was easy! We loved the fans to create a breeze in the lounge and bedroom. The spa bath was lovely! Instruction booklet with detail on designated smoking area, where to get coffee and food - that's very helpful.

There wasn't anything we DIDNT like, but thought salt & pepper shaker for our breakfast would have been great, and a toilet scrubber so guests can keep the facility clean and tidy.

It was nice and warm when we arrived and albeit late the owners made contact to check on us and texted details of key availability. We are definitely going there again. Thank you to the cleaning staff also who were really nice and helpful. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The spa bath was exceptional after a long day at our conference and the bath salts icing on the cake. Thank you 😊 soooo much.

I didn't like that we had to come home lol 😆. No complaints at all.

It had every amenity down to the tiniest detail. Exceptionally well maintained and clean. Sandy and Glen were very welcoming and helpful. The location was perfect with views of the sea from the property. We would definitely recommend our friends and colleagues to stay there on their travels. We wished we could have stayed longer.

It was according to my expectations, without annoying surprises. I have got exactly what was written and that is huge plus nowadays. Yes, the spa bath was really cool, and location - next to the sea (ocean) - was also awesome.

Nothing worth to be mentioned, I was hoping for a better view (I have got accommodation on ground-floor) with less trees and more sea, but it is OK since I was on a business trip and I had to work a lot.
