I wanted a hotel near North Shore Hospital and this was a 5 minute walk so perfect. The mattress in this room was not quite a comfy as the room I had last time, but the pillows were better! The kitchenette had all I needed to cook meals for myself. A short drive took me to Milford Beach which was lovely, especially at sunrise. Very popular with dog walkers!

I'd have liked a hook on the wall so I could hang a dress. The wardrobe space was wide but short. Hooks on the back of the bathroom door were too low.

The location was great. The size of the apartment was good as it was for myself, my husband and our 12 year old boy, we weren't too cramped. It was very clean, and well-equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the shower pressure was excellent, all the things that matter to us when staying away!

The skinny size of the parking spaces!! I don't think anyone has super-slim cars so being able to park next to other cars, and to be able to get out of your car was very difficult!

Appreciated the staff efforts to acomodate our needs for our stay ahead of time. Rooms were very clean, comfortable, private and the spa bath was a great bonus. We enjoyed our lovely stay at city of sails hotel 😊

Comfy beds. Quiet location. Shopping area not too far away. 2 supermarkets and food shops. Nice little balcony. Spa bath. Good parking. Friendly staff greeting

Having to pay the $200 bond despite having already paid for my room in full prior to my arrival. However bond was returned promptly before the end of the weekend.

Close to Eventfinda Stadium (as at 2024) at a reasonable price, approximately 20 mins walk or 5 mins drive away. PakNSave is on the way to the stadium. Across the road is Smales Farm - bus terminal, shops and market 2nd Sunday of every month. Dairy for quick convenience on the same road as the motel. The bed was so comfortable, and the spa bath was wonderful. This also has a corner platform higher in bath, not only handy for showering but also to get in and out of spa Property owners are very hospitable, professional, and great to deal with.

All rooms accessible only via stairs. Posed a small problem for us, but not a major hassle. Could hear neighbours squeaky flooring, not loud enough to disrupt sleep. Perhaps the key shouldn't have the name of the motel and room number. If you lose the key, this could pose a problem.

Booked as a last minute for my family who were visiting someone at North Shore Hospital and needed something close by and good value. City of Sails hit the mark Easy to organise checking in, even with a super late arrival, room was a decent size and super close to the hospital

The only thing that was noticed was the size of the bed. My brother who was up is 1.95m tall and his feet hung off the end of the bed, so not designed for super tall people to be able to lie flat

They need to put the $200 Security deposit under the category "The fine print" on booking.com. All other accomodations throughout NZ put security deposit under the category, so that people can see whether the hotel charges a security deposit, and then plan ahead of time financially. Also it helps the people booking to know whether they want to book a motel which requires you to pay a security deposit or a motel which doesnt. I have booked a lot of motels on expedia and booking.com that do not ask for security deposits and they are very good motels.

Beds were all made up nice and very comforgable

Was told we couldnt make any noise because of people down stairs yet it was ok for them to smoke outside and all the smoke come into our room . Also has fire alarm go off 5 min after check in kids haf just jumped into spa bath and we had to waot outside in rain but lovely staff did get them blankets

Heaps of space - it felt like an apartment, not a motel! The beds were very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. A range of channels on the TV.

Being questioned over a missing cushion when they should've checked their laundry pile first. Some fixtures were very lose like the kitchen tap and toilet paper holder, plus wall mounted lights would flicker like a strobe light.

Unfortunately we had ants in the kitchen (appears maybe from the sugar sachets so we asked to have that removed) Some noisy neighbours but luckily that was only for the first night
