Check-in process was pretty much smooth sailing - despite the weather, the receptionist had us all cleared & good to go in minutes. Room - impeccable, as usual; beds were well dressed, cozy & very comfortable. Amenities - can't fault them, after a long day's travel the shower was much appreciated [as were the complimentary APOTHEKE bath & beauty products, so good].

Not being able to stay more than a night - will make note for next time, we absolutely enjoyed our experience with the team & will definitely stay again. Also, the complimentary brownies we received on arrival - delicious! We insist on a tray of brownies next time please & thank you 😁

Overall had a good experience. 5 min walk to the beach, 8 min walk to a supermarket, 7 min walk to the bus stop that takes you to CBD. After that it’s like 15 min bus drive. I also walked to Devonport - 5 km so it’s manageable. A good location if you want to visit other northern beaches of Auckland. Very comfy bed. Pool was there indeed but it seems that I was the only one who used it during these 5 days that I stayed there as it looked cold but I was fine with it anyways. My room was not overlooking the main road so it was quiet and I also haven’t heard the neighbours. Great full blackout curtains. Big windows which I enjoyed. Solid WiFi speed and good air-con. I haven’t had a washing machine or a bath tub, so nothing to say about that. A toaster and a microwave was a great bonus - usually hotel don’t have them! A game changer having these things really. Friendly staff and good communication.

I checked out before 6 am and walked along the main road and saw that the empty rooms had the light switched on! Not a very green approach :) Another thing that I’d mention is no access to a balcony. I had a door leading there but it was locked.

The room was very spacious and all facilities worked. The rooms were clean and the hotel is positioned next to a main road along the Narrow Neck peninsula. Located near the beach and not far away from Takapuna village which has a range of cafes and restaurants. Also not too far from Devonport, which has a ferry to Auckland, although the main road to Devonport is often very busy

It would be nice if there were at least basic breakfast facilities. Also the hotel is a little noisy, being positioned right on the main road

The receptionist was very helpful, ready & willing to help set us up with everything we needed on arrival. The check-in process was smooth, very quick & efficient - the complementary homemade brownie was a sweet touch. The room was spacious, the decor tasteful - and the shower! The bathroom area alone was very impressive, definitely a highlight. The beds were another highlight of our stay, so comfy - definitely the best night's sleep we've had in a while, it was so good. Out of 10 we'd give the hotel a 10/10, we will absolutely come back again soon - thank you for having us, was truly a pleasure.

What we didn't like? That we only booked in for one night - if we had more time then we would've definitely stayed a few more nights, we enjoyed our stay so much. When we book again, we would like more brownies please - compliments to the chef, they were delicious & we'd happily pay extra just for a whole tray of those brownies alone. Thank you again for having us, all due credit to you & your staff for creating such a wonderful experience.

I loved the open shower, and there was plenty of vanity space for storing my toiletries. The tiny kitchennette was a pleasant feature. I liked the tinted windows, and the room was spacious.

The windows needed a good washing. The bed sheets were always crumpled up, because a top sheet which was too small for the bed was used as a bottom sheet, instead of a proper fitted bottom sheet. The bed was actually two beds laid side by side, so there was a hard ridge in the middle; not comfy.

Location for traveling was great - easy walk to beach - bed was comfortable and was able to sleep well had blackout curtains - staff were happy and helpful

The entrance from car park to unit after hours was by a stone staircase from car park for less mobile/older clients this could be off putting - car parking was small area to manoeuvre in having a rental vehicle just made us a little nervous when parking

Exceptional service. They upgraded our room unexpectedly and free of charge. Gave us a late checkout, offered to let us use the facilities after we checked out due to being unable to use the sauna at the time we were hoping to. Just really felt like they valued our custom. Beds are SOOOO comfortable, large rooms, close to Takapuna beach for sunrise walks in the mornings.

Blinds in bathroom needed some TLC.

Loved the pool swim I had although cold this time of year. Our adult boys used the gym and were very happy with the equipment. All the staff are lovely, reception as well as cleaners. Our family stayed in different rooms all very clean and comfortable with nice styling. So close to Takapuna beach, we walked on the beach every day with a coffee from winsome Cafe. This is a really well run hotel and totally suited our needs. We will definitely be back to stay. Already missing it!

While it is clear this is an older property The rooms in this property seem to be completely renovated. Our room was clean, comfortable in wonderful shape and nicely outfitted. I had no interest in the pool but it looked clean in passing. Our room had a modest kitchenette with kettle, microwave, small fridge, and plates, cups, utensils, coffee, tea, creamer, etc.. there was also a large wardrobe and some storage drawers in the bathroom. Bed had a thick foam mattress topper.

Travelers should keep in mind that there are no elevators in this multi floor facility so ask ahead about ground floor availability if you have mobility issues. The bed was comfortable though too soft for my liking. My wife wasn’t troubled by it though and actually slept better than usual.

Location is great, short walk to takapuna beach & also the supermarket. Nice clean comfortable rooms. Bathrooms recently renovated. Staff lovely. Good off street parking

All was great, the pool doesn’t seem to be heated. Gym was locked, couldn’t find the sauna but I’m sure someone would help & show you if you asked. It is close to the road but road noise didn’t worry us
