The location is exceptional. The hotel has a lovely garden with sunbeds, direct access to the lake where you can swim or use a paddleboard (available at the hotel), and the view from the garden is fantastic. You can see the whole Bay and the St. Giovanni Island is so close. Other islands are within reach (rented boat or "public transportation ferry" from village (10 min walk maximum). There are premium rooms have the lake view / we had "street view" and were a bit afraid that it would be noisy / was not at all. We were lucky with the weather and were outside on the sunbeds / however, there is indoor swimming pool as well.

Bedroom decor a little dark and dated and more comfortable seating would have been nice. Scrambled egg and bacon were not good and breakfast repetitive. More variety of fruit and not having to pay another €10 for anything extra would have been nice as the cost of our holiday for one week was high. Young boys playing noisily daily (staff children?)at the end of the afternoon spoilt the peace and quiet and generally messing about in the sauna. Our bedroom wasn’t made up one day by mistake, rectified later on request

The location directly at the lake is amazing! Also the new facilities like the gym and pool area are a very nice touch, all while being in this beautiful historic building!

The rooms still have this older Italian flair. So while everything is clean etc. I believe they could update the furniture in the rooms at this point. Finally the coffee machine at breakfast could be a actual espresso machine.

We are very pleased with our stay at this hotel! The room was very spacious with a good view from the window, although not on the lake. Incredibly nice staff to help with everything - especially the hotel manager Maria Angela - an amazing woman who took time for each guest, creating an atmosphere of comfort and exclusivity of the place, as well as a sense of value for each of the guests. The hotel itself is a pearl of architecture and neoclassical style right on the lake and its own beach. Despite the fact that it is an old historical building, the hotel is in very good condition and with all amenities, including swimming pool, sauna and spa. It has convenient location - close to the city center, but at the same time a little secluded - so not noisy and calm. Amazingly delicious restaurant with rich and varied breakfast with a lake view.

Friendly and helpful staff, general manager and marketing manager. Beautiful location on the lake and attractive gardens. Lovely terraces for meals and drinks.

Shower rather old-fashioned and feeble. No hand-shower. Stairs in room to get from sitting area to bedroom and bathroom.

Breakfast was a deception. Every dish on the buffet was empty as soon as it arrived and it took a long time to refill. Also extra charges for eggs, juices or anything were horrendous. The dinner at the hotels restaurant was good. The vegetarian options looked nice but were completely tasteless. Salad looked fancy but came without sauce.

We loved absolutely everything about the property and couldn’t fault it. The location was perfect - beautifully maintained grounds by the lake and a short stroll into Pallanza. The indoor pool was amazing - so relaxing and serene - and swimming in the lake was wonderful. The breakfast was fantastic with a huge amount of choice. Our room was just perfect for us. Having a cocktail on the terrace after coming back from dinner in Pallanza was lovely. If you want somewhere quiet and chilled, this is the perfect place. All the staff were lovely and went above and beyond - a special mention needs to go to Blendy (our name for him was Jack!) at the bar and Moussa at the pool.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. We parked our car at the hotel when we arrived and didn’t use it again until we left as the transport (buses, trains and ferries) were good. However we were also worried that we might not get a parking space again if we decided to drive somewhere in the car. One suggestion might be that for guests staying a long time, like we did, at 10 days+, there is an opportunity to reserve a space. However it wasn’t an issue for us and we understand that people tend to stay for a few nights only.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Our suite was spacious and well designed. The shower was a bit small. Breakfast was standard, and I hoped to find baked beans or roesties as an add on. But in general it was good.

Breakfast should be more variety.

The location and the facilities are excellent, especially the Junior suite sizes and balcony views. The lounge chairs in the front yard are comfortable, and there was plenty of space for everyone to have a certain level of social distancing privacy. The ability to swim in lake out front was nice. The walk to the main hub if Palanza, with many restaurants, shops, the lighted fountain and ferries also extremely convenient. Parking near hotel also free on street.

Although the Suites we’re very generous in size, the shower stall was small/tight. If we quibble, we would have liked a spa with steam room and hot tub too.
