The room (222) was recently modernised with a good shower room and a small seating area with chairs and a coffee table. Breakfast was very good (we are fans of Bircher Muesli) and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location close to the lakeside and less than 10 minutes walk from the railway station and boat departure points was very convenient. Luzern is an expensive city but this hotel offers good value for money compared to others we considered.

It is very hard to think of anything to criticise here - the sliding door to the bathroom was a bit reluctant to close, but nothing else is worthy of adverse comment!

Beautiful hotel! About a 15 minute walk from the train station right around the lake. Our room was large and we had a nice view of the courtyard. We also had a small kitchenette which was great. I think this used to be an apartment building that was converted. Breakfast was wonderful! Many different options and several “American” staples. Barista to make your favorite coffee! Staff were super friendly and we had a very warm welcome. We’d definitely stay again.

Just be aware there is no A/C. I understand this is normal in Europe, but if it’s hot or humid outside it can make for some sweaty nights. We were provided with a box fan, but it made little difference. Also, our room was a halfway between floors, so the was a small portion were we had to carry luggage up or down stairs. It was ok for us, but if you have limitations; call and make sure your room is fully accessible with the elevator.

Great location and staff. We stayed at multiple hotels of a similar rating/price during our time in Switzerland and this was by far the best and most welcoming staff. The room was cleaned well each day and they even went as far as to clean the floor which was appreciated. Location is perfect. Some have complained about the church bells but we found it to be a cool aspect to the location and it didn’t disturb us. Breakfast and coffee was good.

It was very hot but we’re pampered Americans who like AC.

Great hotel in the center of the alstadt. Bus stop both ways literally across the street and a short walk from the main train station. Rooms were very clean and nice and the breakfast was oustanding.

This is our most favorable hotel during this family trip to Switzerland, all family members love the 2-night stay, and enjoyed the restaurant dinner as well. Staff are kind and helpful, facilities are sufficient, atmosphere is superb, walking distance to city center, and driving distance to nearby mountains. Beautiful and comfortable hotel, strongly recommended to family trip. When checking out I forgot my jacket in the closet, the hotel contacts me quickly so I got it back in time. Thanks again for all the good memories of Luzern.

It is a very-very good variant to visit Lucerne, for a short or a long stay. Very good position, very good facilities, nice personal, good breakfast, perfect cleanliness. Very good restaurant, with a very nice garden and an ... more than interesting menu. So, in a nut shell formulation: best value for the price!...

Nothing important to mention here. Almost everything was just perfect. .. Maybe only the temperature inside the room, due to the high temperature outside and the fact the mobile AC unit was not the perfect way to fight with... But, wasn't so hard to manage!... So, ...big thanks and hugs to the staff. I would come back in this hotel, any single occasion I will have.

Fantastic Hotel right in the centre of Luzern. Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of character, and a great courtyard for breakfast.

Mattress wasn’t very comfortable.

This hotel was exceptionally friendly and the staff went out of their way to make us feel valued. You didn’t to ask for assistance because they anticipated your needs before you could ask. Kathrin was outstanding as she served breakfast and quickly knew what you might ask for. The reception staff also were efficient and attentive.

Being an old building, the floor levels were inconsistent. This would be a challenge with someone with mobility issues. Other than that, it is hard to find anything else that would have had a negative impact on our stay.

Customer service was brilliant and very accommodating. Even though I arrived earlier than planned, every effort was made to ensure my room was ready to check in to once I had arrived. Staff were also very helpful when my adaptor wasn't working to get me sorted with ones that did! The property is in a great location, very close to the water front, the train station and the old town for sightseeing on foot, by boat or by train. Everyone was very friendly and there was a good team vibe to the property. Breakfast was very good, as was the restaurant in the evening.

This is a great hotel! The staff are all really lovely and helpful, the room was spotlessly clean, the breakfast buffet was well laid out and had a variety of everything you might need, with eggs available to be freshly cooked to your liking. We had booked a table in their restaurant and it was one of the best meals we've had in a long time - perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, good sized portions - all served in a friendly, relaxed and non pretension manner! The restaurant is very popular with the locals which is always a good sign!
