Amazing stay for a birthday, felt welcomed from the start. We were allowed to leave our bags before the room was ready, Basel city card was prepared prior to arrival, the bags were delivered up into the room for when we checked in. There was a kitchen section on each level with good facilities like kettle, coffee, tea and a fruit basket. Everything felt detailed and we were well looked after. Very organised, we were pleased. Wish we could stay longer!

The bed and pillow was too soft for my liking, woke up with a tad stiff neck. There did not seem to have air conditioning in the room, we opened the window for circulation but not a big issue in winter.

The hotel is very clean and welcoming, and the staff were extremely nice — definitely one of the highlights of my stay. Everyone was kind and helpful, which made a great impression. Very good location.

The mattress was very soft and didn’t offer much support, which made it a bit hard to sleep comfortably. There was no mini bar in the room, which would’ve been a nice touch. The bathroom could be better designed — the shower tends to leak water onto the floor, and the towel on the floor was soaked after the first use. Also, the toiletries provided were quite basic, just shower gel, hand gel, and shampoo — a few extra amenities would really elevate the experience

Lovely modern design hotel in an excellent location in Basel, quiet but handy for both the old town and the train station. 2 minutes walk from a tram stop, which is very useful as you can use the Basel card that the hotel give you for free public transport within the city as well as discounts in museums. The hotel is a 2 mins walk from the Kunstmuseum which is a must-see. We were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a design premium room on the 5th floor. There was also a bottle of complimentary chilled champagne waiting in the room for us. The room was spacious with a massive bathroom, including a bath and a fabulous walk-in shower with l'Occitane toiletries, tv, seating area and a separate toilet. Outside the room in the corridor was a shared refreshments station with free fruit, tea & kettle, coffee maker and still or sparkling water from a chilled tap. There were only a few other rooms on our floor and we didn't see or hear any-one else using the drinks during our stay, so it wasn't an issue that it was not in our room. The buffet breakfast was included in our room rate. I'm not usually a big fan of hotel buffets, but this one was truly excellent quality and very good value, we hardly needed to eat lunch during our stay - which is useful in expensive Switzerland! As well as the usual bread, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, boiled eggs, & sausages, there was the option to make your own waffles and use an automated scrambled egg maker (very fun gadget!). There were also more local Swiss options such as cheeses and cold meats. The breakfast is held in the fashionable bar/restaurant area, which in the daytime seems to be popular for business meetings and in the evening was always busy with well-heeled locals for drinks. We really enjoyed our visit to Basel and would definitely stay at Nomad again. Thank you to all the staff who made us feel so welcome.

The room did get quite warm as it is all concrete, but there was a small window we could open to get fresh air and cool down which was a pleasant surprise, UK hotels would never have an actual window on the 5th floor. The bath/shower is behind a thick curtain in the room, which is a bit odd but we got used to it. The toilet is separate and behind a proper door, so that wasn't an issue. The pillow was quite flat and we would have liked an extra pillow each, but the bed was otherwise comfortable.

My stay at Nomad Design & Lifestyle Hotel in Basel was absolutely perfect! We came because of the Eurovision, and had great time. The staff were extremely friendly, professional, and always ready to help – from check-in to check-out, everything went smoothly and pleasantly. The service was outstanding, and the whole team made it clear they truly care about their guests. The rooms were modern, exceptionally clean, and very comfortable, with thoughtful design details that made the stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was fantastic; varied, fresh, and delicious, with something for everyone. The breakfast area has a stylish yet cozy atmosphere that made mornings feel special and had modern appliances for guests to use. The location is great, with excellent access to public transportation, making it easy to reach any part of the city. It is easy to go to the airport, St.Jakobshalle and city centre. A great bonus is the option for online check-out, which takes less than two minutes – super convenient and efficient and you can do it 0-24. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stylish, clean, and comfortable place to stay in Basel, with top-notch service and a great location.

We booked specifically for our stay at the Eurovision week. The hotel is very central, close to all amenities and the room was very comfortable. It's worth including the breakfast in your stay, it is definitely one of the highlights of the hotel :) All in all, we would definitely return.

The only one remark we have is the window which have a small middle bit that can be opened. I would say it is understandable given that you are very high up and it is floor to ceiling windows so it might make this dangerous to have windows which can be fully opened but it made the room slightly tricky to air out. It might be a personal thing, some people are probably less bothered by this.

Front desk reception (Mika) super helpful and each time we met throughout the visit friendly. Beds are softer and usually I like harder mattress, but I found the bed very comfortable. Very nice that bathroom and toilet was separate rooms. Breakfast was very nice with great selection of cheeses, fruits, and drinks. The central coffee bar on each floor with small fruit and also both still and sparkling water was very useful.

Wish the doors separating the bedroom, shower, and toilet were more closed. As an early riser noise from the shower is heard easier in the bedroom.

Lovely hotel. Staff very attentive! Liked the free mini bar but was not replenished. Our suite had a lot of room and was very swanky. Had dressing had dressing gowns and slippers. TV channels had lots of selection.

Paid a fee. Was told then by hotel that they had misquoted and tried to charge more. Had to complain to Booking to keep the rate. Bathroom had a glass wall so if staying with friends this could be awkward. The coffee machine overfill a cup it you press large cup. Beds were a bit uncomfortable.

The bedroom design has wonderful homely features, including a spacious seated area, comfy pillows, a green plant, books to read and soft rugs. Free coffee and water stations on all floors. A well equipped designer fitness room and sauna. Lots of choice for breakfast. Friendly staff.

I used the sauna at around 5pm and a frequent loud thumping noise was heard from above. It was not possible to relax. I am guessing it could have been the heavy entrance door. When I used the sauna a second time around 8pm, the noise was less frequent yet still audible.

This hotel really was exceptional. It was modern and very well maintained. The room was fabulous. There didn't appear to be air conditioning, but the suite was spacious with Dyson fans which made it a very comfortable environment. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. A real 'can do' attitude as we had some issues with the parking but they solved it with no fuss. The hotel was convenient for the old town, but just out of the way so it was relatively quiet with easy access from the motorway. It was very convenient having the parking on-site.

The underground parking was quite tight for our relatively long and wide car.

The hotel itself was very nice and in a very nice location in center of Basel . Very good access to the tram system most of the museums and the old town pretty trendy place nice food and breakfast good atmosphere nice people. I’m assuming a safe location. The room is were basic but comfortable.

We noticed a lot of handprints and smudge marks on the headboard of the bed and on the windowsill and the floors of the apartment felt a little bit sticky, But I see they pay attention to cleaning a lot so it is definitely a place I would stay again. It is nice. Next time, I’ll just ask her say something if I have a concern, I’m sure they would have no problem helping you. The staff are very, very generous and helpful.
