We were running late to check in & reception stayed open to accommodate this, so after a long trip we were very grateful. The room was clean, comfortable & quiet. Beautiful staff, easy booking system. Awesome sleep :)

The room was very basic, with not many kitchen utensils, a microwave & some crockery to heat our kai up late would have been great :). Also, the view wasn't nearly as good as the room we stayed in here a few months ago. I understand that being positioned differently within the building affects this, but our last room costs the same, maybe even a little cheaper, which doesn't make a lot of sense. Overall, the room was great but overpriced for what it was, being easily $60 - $70 more expensive than several other rooms in Whangarei, with no real advantage point.

The view from our room was lovely. The pool was very inviting and spa pool was large but maybe a little too hot. Nice to have a bath in our room.

The spa pool was on ground floor and I went to reception to ask for another towel and directions to the big pool. I told her that my grandson wanted to swim in the big pool but we thought it would be too cold. She should have offered me the key for the spa pool. I didn't know it was locked until he'd been in the freezing large pool and we had to trapes all the way back up to reception to get the key. I need a hip replacement and there were many stairs.

We liked the fact that there was a on-site restaurant so we did not have to go out for our meals. The selection and variety of meals was another key point we liked along with the friendliness of the staff. The staff were very approachable and willing to go that extra mile to accommodate our requests. The room was spacious with a nice view towards the harbour

We felt the Comfort Flames Hotel is somewhat out-dated, tired and in need of a significant make-over. Despite this, we could not find any other reasons to dislike this hotel

Comfort Hotel Flame was positioned in an excellent area. Great well appointed restaurant. Shops for all your needs within walking distance. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Swimming pool and gym if you were inclined. Room had a lovely Outlook was very well appointed also. They were having some work done on the outside of the building but that was nothing. I will definitely choose this hotel again when visiting Whangarei.

We had a spacious room with a nice view. The room and furniture are a bit tired but clean, windows can be opened and a door leads to a small balcony. Nice to have a coffee. It is good value for money. Breakfast wasn't available, dinner was nice. The bed was comfortable. Location is quiet. A small supermarket is walking distance.

Location is not handy without a car. The center is a bit far.

Our room was huge and clean, the bed was very comfortable and the ensuite was a good size. We had a view of the harbour and you can access Netflix etc by logging onto your account on the tv. The staff were awesome, friendly, helpful and professional, breakfast was delicious and well priced.

Every now and then the wifi would cut out, but it was of no concern to us. There really wasn’t anything we disliked about the property.

The Comfort Hotel Flames was a wonderful experience. The room was clean, the staff were exceptionally friendly and eager to fulfill every request, and the view from the balcony was absolutely enchanting. I highly recommend staying here. The surrounding area offers plenty to see and discover, making it a perfect choice for any traveler.

I always request Room 5. As I have a prosthetic leg I use a wheel chair for the bathroom. I like the shower as it is made for my condition. The food and the menu were excellent.

Room 5 is in a difficult location for a person in a wheelchair or a prosthetic. Too many steps up and two difficult doors to get through from outside. In a wheelchair, it is difficult to get to/from the access doors to the car park.

Really warm welcome. All staff were friendly. We were really comfortable in our room, with everything to hand. The pool looked so enticing; would have loved an afternoon dip if the sun was still shining. Great views from our room.

We couldn't get Netflix to work, but we didn't ask for help, we just found something else to watch.

Location very easy to find easy check in and check out staff were very good not to much on us but giving us that good customer service, beautiful view on the beach side, very clean, all over really good place for whangarei

only downside was the pool looks very nice and with the leds but wish it was deeper but obviously can’t change that so it was fine :)
