Perfectly located. So close to the centre but down a quiet peaceful street. Everything was immaculately clean. True Irish hospitality. Greta is an absolutely incredible host. Attentive, accommodating, kind and funny. She goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. The breakfast was delicious and she made sure to cater to any requests with pleasure. The entire breakfast experience was efficient and speedy so that you have ample time to set off for your day. Greta is the kind of human being you are sad to leave behind. A heart of gold who deserves the very best in life. So glad we chose to stay here. She even gifted me my favourite chocolates because it was my 40th birthday. And as I’m sure you’ve read from all of the other reviews, the sweet gesture of her homemade scones everyday with butter and jam was gratefully received. We don’t have a bad word to say about our stay here and highly recommend it to everyone. You will be made to feel at home. And Greta will make sure you are well fed each morning, ready for your adventures. Thank you so much to all the staff.

Breakfast was excellent and freshly made, the owners were very welcoming and friendly. The room was cozy and comfortable, especially the small additional sofa. Outlets conveniently located near the bed. The shared guest fridge downstairs was very convenient. Also excellent location, 5 min walk into town and less then 10 min to the train station, yet still on a very quite residential street with no traffic except for the occasional driving school car using the steeper part of the street for their training.
The shower head was of the fixed wall-mounted kind only, which we found to be a major inconvenience. I realise this might be a personal preference and others might be totally fine with it, but for us it was a bit of a deal breaker, especially had we stayed longer than the two nights. Also the drains of sink and toilet appeared to be slightly clogged somewhere, so in general the plumbing seems in need of renovation... Breakfast was from 8 to 9:30, we would have preferred a slightly later time, but again that's more of a personal thing.

Everything about this establishment is top notch. Greta, the owner, makes you feel like one of the family and nothing is too much trouble for her. The breakfast choices were plentiful and my wife, who is an expert on such things, rates Greta's home made scones as some of the best she's ever tasted. The room was the ideal size for a couple and was cleaned every day. The location of the property is on a quiet estate yet only a ten minute walk from the Town centre with it's numerous attractions including pubs, shops, restaurants and a delightful park.
Nothing.

Algret House is a lovely Bed & Breakfast in Killarney. A 5-10 minute stroll from the centre of town which is full of Irish delights. From being met and welcomed by our host, the effervescent and ever so friendly Greta, we felt most comfortable and very much at home. Easy parking for a car is a bonus. The room space is reasonable but more importantly it is clean and tidy with a comfortable bed for sleeping. The ensuite is of reasonable size with all facilities working well. Coffee, tea and biscuits are available in the room while toiletries are also supplied. After a day out, our room was serviced including fresh towels, with minimum fuss. Breakfast was delicious including home made scones and a light or heavier meal as desired. Fruit for a light snack later, is also available. Overall a well run and inviting B&B accommodation.
Leaving.

Very clean and comfortable stay. Greta greeted us as we arrived and made sure we were looked after. Algret house is in a very clean neighborhood that is a short walk to town. We were able to park our rental car in the parking lot for our visit to Killarney. Breakfast was provided both days and gave us a great start to the day with fruit, cereals, juice, coffee, our choice of a delicious hot dish, and homemade scones. You will start your day feeling full and having consumed a home cooked meal. A nice charming stay to add to your visit to Ireland.

Greta made us feel welcome from the start. Our room was spotless, as was our bathroom and the rest of the accommodation. Our room had all we needed including tea and coffee. We could park on the premises and it was only a short walk to shops and restaurants. Greta recommended Hannigans pub/restaurant and this was our best meal of our trip. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. This is one of those stays that you remember for all the right reasons and Greta was responsible for that.
Nothing not to like.

Greta made us so welcome and couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was comfortable and clean for the 3 nights we stayed. A short walk takes you to the centre of town. Greta kept us fed for the days’ activities in Killarney with excellent breakfasts. And I can confirm the scones are outstanding! Thanks for your and your teams’ hospitality Greta. Next time we are in Killarney you’ll be our first check for availability! Thanks again. Paul & Davie!
Nothing. Everything was great.

Clean and cozy bed and breakfast right outside of Killarney center; maybe a five minute walk. Parking is right in the driveway in front also. Breakfast is great and hostess is just so lovely, funny and warm! She really makes the place! I’ve stayed here before and honestly, had an even better room this time. It’s not a super fancy place but it’s not supposed to be. It feels like you’re staying with family which is perfect depending on what you’re in the mood for. We like to experience different types of accommodations when we travel and all and all, this is a great BnB with a great location, delicious breakfast and charming hostess.
It’s a room in a house so if you are wanting or needing a lot of privacy this may not be the best choice for you. You get the feeling maybe people could hear you in the halls or other room’s THOUGH we did not hear anyone so I could be wrong.

We stayed at Algret House for one night for St. Patrick‘s Day. Our stay was absolutely delightful! The host, Greta, was very kind and helpful in all regards. The room was perfect, clean, and tidy and it had everything you would need. The breakfast was amazing and plenty! Everything was freshly prepared and tasty. The homemade scones were lovely. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back!
The mattress was on the softer side. A harder one would have been more comfortable, but this is a personal preference.

Just had the most wonderful stay at Algret House. It even exceeded my expectations, which were promising from the reviews already. Greta really is the loveliest and most welcoming person you could wish to meet. Honestly, I'm considering going back just to see her and Alfie, who I should mention is much the same and does an amazing breakfast, which, in my opinion, surpasses a high-end hotel . All fresh and cooked to perfection with the best ingredients. The B&B is near to town but on a really quiet road. It is very comfortable and spotlessly clean, again better than most hotels and easily better than anything else for price. I think Greta's nature and the lovely atmosphere rubbed off on all guests, too, as everyone was happy smiling calm and polite at breakfast. Absolutely nothing to fault at this five-star (in my opinion) B&B
