The location can’t be beat. The vibe is incredible. Two Gen X and two young adult sons stayed in a family room with two twin sized beds on either side of a full size. It was very clean and perfect for our group. Quite a large room! We were there during the Irish “heat wave” of 2025, and while we appreciated the fan in the room, it proved to be quite ineffective. We were very happy to have brought our own travel sized fans AND I could not have survived the direct sun in the morning without my eye mask. It is absolutely necessary, because our gorgeous room was directly above the sign at the front of the hotel. Incredible!! Despite its front and center location, it was surprisingly quiet. The live music on the first floor did not reach our third floor room, but we could hear the live music from across the way, which added to the aura. Luckily for all of us older people, all of the music shuts down at 11:00pm, and it’s nice and quiet. I would 100% recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again.

No fan to suck out the humidity in the bathroom, so prop the door. A bit too warm during the heat wave and I needed an eye mask, but I came prepared!! No biggie.

We got a family room on the top floor. The room itself was spacious for 4, the beds were comfy and the bathroom modern. We did not hear the music from the bar below at all, however we did hear the music coming from accross the street. Then again, there is live music everywhere in the central part of the town,and they do stop strictly until 11, so we had good sleeps. We stayed in 4 hotels during our visit to Ireland, this one was the best in money-value, same room standard than the more expensive ones.

It was not a problem for us, but there is no lift, so you must carry your luggage upstairs.

This hotel is a wonderful place to stay and it’s in an excellent location. The staff offered excellent customer service with easy check-in. We enjoyed the restaurant on the second floor. The lamb chops on mash with gravy was super delicious. The national park is a couple of minutes away, and you are steps away from all of the shops and restaurants in Killarney. We were driving a rental car and parked in the large parking lot that was steps from the hotel. We would definitely stay there again as it is so centrally located.

It is a bit dated, but they were installing new carpet when we were there. Cigarette smoke was in the halls and room due to the pub downstairs as people stand outside and smoke, which comes in and gets trapped. I am allergic so this is the only complaint I have.

Location was great, downtown. Room had been recently renovated, with a very nice bathroom, new flooring and fresh paint. Although a small room, very clean. Getting to the room, with two flights of steps was OK but the carpet could use a change as it is frayed in several locations, and gives a pretty poor first impression. Room was relatively quiet given that you were above a restaurant on the second floor and a bar with music on the first floor, did not hear the band at all throughout the the night.

Entrance to the room could be spruced up, the chairs next to the restaurant the cleaning supplies, the frayed carpet, the dirty paint, it’s a little seedy until you get to the room, which is nice.

Breakfast was lovely, beds comfy. Could have done with an extra towel. Bedrooms (we booked 2) were newly decorated and gorgeous. No lift - it is an older property so probably not possible to have one. Centrally located and a 24 hour car park close by. Really lovely stay and this is the second time we have stayed.

Only I could have done with an additional towel. I am sure I could have asked for one but didn’t. Very noisy when the pubs around the property closed but that died down eventually and could happen in any town.

We stayed in a family room which had recently been upgraded. Room was huge and the bed was so comfortable. The hotel ia in a great location. Walk out the door and you are in the heart of Killarney. Beirne was a lovely woman and looked after everything for us. Also got to meet the Queen of the castle who at 89 is sharp as a tack and a lovely woman to talk to. Breakfast was beautiful. Would definitely go back.

I have nothing bad to say, really enjoyed my 3 nights here.

We chose the Failte because of its central location for a one night stay on our way up to Dublin. We were really pleasantly surprised by the beautifully refurbished room - the bed was a great size, and very comfy and the shower was the best we've had on our trip! For what we needed it absolutely delivered.

Check-in is a bit confusing - you are told to go upstairs, but there was noone there so the chef had to run down to grab someone. Not a deal breaker but something that could be refined.

The location was excellent! Not a far walk from the train station and close by lots of food, shops, and bars. The rooms looked nothing like the photos online. To our surprise, they had been freshly remodeled! The rooms and the bathrooms were beautiful, plus the water pressure was AMAZING.

We slept 4 people to a room, but only received 2 keys per room. One other thing is the water pressure might have been too good. If you turn the bathroom faucet on all the way, the water sprays out of the sink! However, if those are our only complaints, it must be a pretty awesome place to stay!

The hotel is also a restaurant and bar on the ground and first floor. It is next door to a carpark (parking lot), and centrally located in the happening part of town. Restaurants, bars, gift shops, ice cream shops, and used and new bookstores all footsteps away. The room was beyond what we expected. The shower and bathroom was beautiful. We were fortunate to have the top floor and street view which was great. There is no elevator (FYI). The room keys are old school keys which was super neat. LIve music at night Also. right along the ring of Kerry , we passed by it on our drive around and ended back at it.

A lovely room and Breakfast was a proper Irish breakfast :-) Be aware location is in the centre of town and above a bar. This sort of location has both advantages and some distractions depending on your reasons for travel. But was a lovely place to stay.

There can be some noise from outside on occasions but that is one of the risks of staying in the centre of town near other pubs etc. Access to the room was vis stairs with no lifts, again could be a concern depending on your amount of luggage etc
