Look, this is a difficult review to write. Having read a number of other reviews I was actually dreading checking in to this hotel- but it was too late to change. The good news is - it was no where near as bad as I was expecting. Pros- the Fri t deal is friendly. The gym, while small, has a cross over cable machine and free weights, a treadmill, medicine balls etc. I upgraded to 2 queen beds for a small fee - it was well worth it room was sizeable for two adults. Despite many comments - the room was serviced daily and restocked with fresh coffee, soap, shampoo, conditioners and fresh towels. I personally found the location good- it’s a 1.5km walk into the town center- but if you’re at least half fit no problem. It’s also handy location to the Union station and the Apizza restaurants of little Italy. Cons- the breakfast is pretty rudimentary- yoghurts, make your own waffles, bagels, sausages, hamburger patties and some cups of fruit. The coffee is bottomless and good enough. Regarding the comments on rough elements- hey this is America in the 2020s. No homeless around the hotel but there are some obvious long term residents- I found them to be harmless, not threatening at all. Yes some of them smell of weed- but there is a cannabis distribution shop nearby- and many found throughout new Haven. Weird in my opinion people would comment on this. Fairly close by to longwharf, IKEA… the amazing Armada brewery which I walked to several times (2.5km)… little Italy. 1.5km to New Haven green I would absolutely stay here again

It is walking distance to train station, downtown and waterfront. Has amenities nearby and the staff are wonderful and hard working. The hotel was full and accommodated our requests. Sleeping was great, super beds, quiet. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. My kids loved making their own waffles.

Location was great. Directly across from the hotel is a strip of food trucks, Generally Spanish food. Easy to walk to and conveniently close to the downtown area where you have wider options.

The elevator was out of service for my entire stay. Although I was on a floor that was relatively close to the ground floor, I can only imagine the inconvenience for the other hotel occupants that may have been on the last floor.

The room was a good size Beds and pillows were comfortable Nice view of the warf

Close to University of New Haven. Friendly staff. Breakfast was actually pretty good.

A little pricey. Had to call twice for someone to repair our sink that wouldn’t drain and that backed up dirty water.

The staff at the front desk when I picked up my bag was a little rude I was trying to ask if they could hold my another bag while I go eat they didn’t understand me so I just grabbed both bags and left

I thought that the staff was excellent. They respected our concerns and aporeciated our suggestions . I felt that you were understaffef a bit..

THE fitted sheets did not fit the bed properly. They fit the pullout. I was under the impression that we were suppised to have 2 queen size beds: booking .com and La Quinta could communicate better. The hallways had a funny smell. The workout room..not really I understand that you are renovating. A couple of rollout workout yoga mats maybe some dumbbells and towels in workout room.Need more coffee..maybe keep out 30 or so minutes after breakfast.. Add anothwr fruit to apples..i suggest oranges

The Television did not work in the room. The front desk sent up someone to help us and he immediately went to another room and brought another TV for us to view.

Why your elevator wasn't working how it supposed to you have to call someone to get us up and call to get us down

Our room was on the top floor, and was very comfortable. Great shower. We had a wonderful breakfast, with waffles, sausage, orange juice, and coffee.

The noise from the outside traffic was horrendously loud.
