I recently stayed at Tanes Hotel and had a pleasant experience overall. The room was clean, the environment was quiet, and the location worked well for my needs. It’s a good, no-fuss place to stay if you’re looking for something straightforward and reliable. The staff were polite and professional, and I appreciated the smooth check-in and check-out process. While the hotel is fairly simple in terms of amenities, it delivered on comfort and cleanliness, which are the most important things for me during a stay. It’s a solid option for solo travellers or anyone passing through Cardiff looking for a convenient and peaceful place to rest. I’d be happy to stay again if I return to the area.

The value for money, for what I paid the room exceeded expectation. It was lovely, spacious and well equipped. Everything was clean and tidy, and well presented.

Such small things but the shower wasn’t especially powerful, which could well be just how it is and I still had a lovely morning shower regardless in a spacious shower cubical. Only other thing was all the bulbs in all the lights were cold white, just didn’t feel very ‘cosy’ to settle to rest in. Can not stress how small fry these things are though, overall I’m overjoyed with the space and stay.

The room appeared to be newly refurbished. Almost brand new. Very clean n modern colours for walls and drapes and Manchester. Nice prints on wall. Nice and bright room with good lighting Great the hotel had parking spots for guests even though was difficult to get in and out.

Although the room n features were great, noticed that the flooring edges especially in bathroom not completed. Did not think lowly of our stay though. Shower water drained very slowly. The area around the hotel after dark was questionable, but we managed to get around without incidence.

Friendly host and amenities were adequate. Nice to have own basin in room since the bathroom and toilet is shared / in the hallway. Basic but cosy.

I stayed for 1 night and got bitten by bedbugs several times. Woke up due to the constant itching. The bed is a little springy which I'm not quite use to. I think the rooms needs a little more than pat down clean after each visitor. The net curtains had mould so appears the room is a little unkept. I have to say it's a little further from city centre than I first thought but to be fair that is reflected in the (budget) price.

Overall the experience was pleasant. A very comfortable bed, good Wi-Fi, plenty of towels. Some things could have made the experience just a little better, the sink not having a plug makes it inconvenient to shave, but not impossible. A hair-dryer might also be a good addition, so the suggestion would be to bring your own. Apart from those two things it's a simple, no-frills, get your head down hotel. Which is all I needed.

The room was lovely. It was clean and comfortable as well as nicely decorated. Nice thick curtains which were important as on a main road. Room was a bit hot as windows don't open much but no doubt this is for security reasons. Hosts were available if needed but unobtrusive. Car park was available and a bus stop right outside if needed. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. Take earplugs though if traffic noise will bother you.

Too hot for us at night and for some reason the radiators were on.

The property overall and the room was spotless and tastefully decorated. Host was friendly and parking was secure.

Neighborhood was dodgy. Enormous variation from house to house- some vacant and derelict, some occupied and unkempt, some lovely homes. seems like crime is an issue, so an unsecured car park would be a concern. Street is quite noisy.

Very friendly staff, comfortable bed, well located for access to Roath area. Decent value for money.

Hotel is on a main road (Newport Road), so you can hear traffic in the distance through the windows. You can also hear movement (e.g. doors opening, plugging in appliances etc.) in adjacent rooms. Nothing a couple of ear buds wouldn't solve, however.

The staff was lovely and allowed us to check in a little bit early, the room and communal areas were VERY clean. Close to the city centre around a 20 minute walk. The hotel was very easy to find and there is street parking on the first junction before the hotel. (The photo was taken when we was leaving, hence why is looks messy with our stuff everywhere)

The random small step at the top of the stairs wasn’t noticeable until it was too late and I tripped up.

Friendly, available staff. Car park. Very clean, comfy bed, nice decor.

I had to fix the door handle (screws were coming out) when I arrived. The duvet was lovely and thick for the winter, but with the weather we've been having I was way too hot, even with the radiator turned off. I couldn't work out how to turn the lights round the mirror off...! TV didn't work (not tuned to any channels).
