Great. Breakfast was prepared for me as I don't eat beef or pork that was on the menu.

I was called around 10 pm by the restaurant to pay for my room service dinner. According to the caller, I didn't have "credit" with the hotel booking. I had no problem to pay and a waiter appeared with a card payment machine. I tapped for payment, it did not allow it. I had to insert the card. No problem. A few days later, I find out that someone is fraudulently using my card to make payments. I am left wondering if my card was not cloned. My view is that if any payment needs to be made, it must be made through the front desk or eft.

Perfectly situated close to Sandton City and several smaller malls, this hotel is within easy reach of any shopping or banking/business requirements. The hotel shuttle, expertly manned by the ever-polite and always-accommodating Mavuso, is available for any short, 5km trips which was SO useful. The rooms were spacious, well appointed and spotlessly cleaned and maintained. Having a small kitchenette in the room was very useful for morning coffees and evening light meals. The hotel itself is stylish and comfortable. The gardens and swimming pool are kept immaculate and a pleasure to relax in. Our breakfast buffet was a wonderful start to the morning. Nothing was too much trouble for the polite, efficient staff who never passed the table without a smile and a quick word. Thank you, Patience and Lucas for your lovely service. Well done to the chef for the most delicious omlettes and perfectly poached eggs. They were amazing, not to mention the stupendous chicken salad. Brilliant. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We only stayed for 7 days. We should have booked for longer!

The location is fine, the staff very attentive and arranged for the early check in as requested. The bar staff was also on point and the way they greeted every person in the hotel was a nice touch. They did show some care. Also, noticed whom im assuming as the manager helping out during crunch hours in breakfast, this was a big plus. Being able to take a small walk to the Mushroom farm park and the Marc were huge pluses.

Breakfast could have more choices, the mugs for the coffee are small and the omelettes do take time to come out. I imagine it would be way worst if the breakfast are was full. WE always had late breakfasts so the area was relatively empty. The aircon was not as powerfull. At the lowest setting it didn't blow cold enough, in hot days it would be very bad.

Breakfast was good on 2 days of our 3 day stay. On the last day (Monday) the buffet supplies were limited with no orange juice available. We used to regularly stay in this hotel when travelling on business. We hadn’t used it for 7-8 years and thought that the rooms had not been renovated or updated during this time. Consequently the furnishings were a little tired and the bathroom quite dated. Access to the shower could only be gained by stepping around or over the toilet. This was poor. The level of lighting in the room was unacceptable. We had to use the lights on our phones to access the safe!

The suite was perfect for our family stay and had everything we needed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout. Breakfast was good.

We ate at the restaurant the first night and had a great experience, with amazing food. A few nights later it had been taken over by southern sun directly and was very different. The food was awful and the service was shambolic. It was the first night of service for the team, however it was very poor. We waited over an hour for our meals and did not receive our sides until 25 minutes after the steaks. By that point all our plates has been cleared. The food was certainly not worth the wait either, it was very poor quality. There was no discount given for the terrible food and poor experience, even after speaking to the manager on more than one occasion.

We recently stayed at Southern Sun on Katherine Street in a two-bedroom apartment, and overall, it was a positive experience. The apartment was clean, spacious enough for a family with two children, and offered convenient parking right in front of the apartment. The staff were friendly, and the service was excellent. The breakfast was good, and the location in Sandton was great.

The apartment is a bit further from the main hotel, which may be a consideration for those who prefer being closer to the hotel facilities.

it was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish. Everything about this hotel exudes excellence, and I cannot recommend it enough to fellow travelers seeking comfort, quality, and attention to detail.

The pool could have been cleaner, as it didn’t quite meet the high standards set by the rest of the hotel. Additionally, the restaurant lacked a Halal-friendly section, which would have been a thoughtful addition for guests with dietary requirements.

What I loved most is that the property is super clean and well maintained. Excellent breakfast, amazing coffee, very clean rooms, nice pool (but too cold). Small but very nice gym, everything functional. I think it was the concierge, he was more than amazing trying to accommodate some things to our needs. Location and parking secure but I missed that parking was not free, it was 20R/night

It was weird to have my license scanned so many times, but security guards were still so nice and gentle

The hotel has old world charm and the room was well appointed.

Our main problem was that they forgot our breakfast when we left. We specifically ordered packages as we were going on a long drive. Had we known we could have made other arrangements. But they confirmed and then did not deliver. Communication via booking. com was also very slow. We never got that airport pick-up sorted (though that one was on us, it was rather short notice). Still they asked for info we already provided and that waaay after the fact... In general, there was nothing wrong with any staff or anything else but there was also no heart in it.

It's beautiful and comfortable all around, the breakfast was delicious and they had a shuttle to the mall and back, it's clean and safe, the resturant on site is great and does room service too.

One of the cleaning lady left our room with no bed sheets and upended the whole day, we went to the mall and came back at around 15:00 pm and our room was still like that and we waited for some time for her to come fix it and also one of the breakfast ladies was a bit unwelcoming and the part of the bill for tips coming at the end of a supposed buffet breakfast that is paid for already, is a little bit uncomfortable especially when you encounter a bad service. The staff members seems to not work that much as a team and is not nice when you hear them complaining loudly about the other team member's neglected Duties infront of us like we can't hear them.
