Iconic hotel in Alicante by the waterfront; rooms came with nice views - the view from room if the castle and if the marina were lovely. The top floor bar and viewing platform is great with stunning surrounding views. Worth a G&T and marvel at Alicante lit up at night. The aircon was a god send as the temperature was very hot. Great location and nice traditional Spanish hotel. Staff were brilliant
It’s an old hotel so it’s very dated. However whilst I liked the old original tiles and the old bede in the bathroom- not seen one in years!! The room is small and so is the bathroom. The bathroom was looking sad with years of water damage to the wood work like the door frame - I suppose it looks a bit tatty now. For a night or two that’s fine. But most of all the bed was hard and squeaky. Mattress was like concrete and the pillows were the worst . So slept badly. However, if you like a hard mattress then you’re fine.

We booked a premier room and we were on the 24th floor. We loved the view as our room had a balcony. The views were fascinating, difficult to describe in words. We slept very well as we were on a higher floor so there was no noise from outside though it was very busy outside the hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning was great. It was great coming to a cold room after such a hot day.The room was spacious exactly how it looked like online.Had a kettle and mini fridge.Very helpful. The location was brilliant, close to everything.Shops and bars all very close and a 10 min walk to the beach. I would advise to anyone booking this hotel,to always go for the higher floors as the premium rooms are on the higher floors from floors 20 - 25 in this way you won’t be disturbed by any noise from outside.
The only thing that I didn’t like was that though there were 26 floors, the hotel only had 2 lifts. We couldn’t like come in and out quick. There always was a wait till we got in the lift but it wasn’t a problem because the lifts were quite good. Mini fridge was annoying as it had a key lock and would get stuck every time when we opened the fridge door. We had to ask 3 times for toilet rolls and that service was very slow.

Booked 2x superior rooms for one night. Check in staff were great - fast, efficient and great English. Rooms were fine - had a view from one. Beds were firm but fine. Breakfast was excellent - great choice, freshness and well stocked and staff were helpful and friendly. Location is fantastic, right in the heart of Alicante across from the beach. Quiet at night when we were there. 12pm check out a huge bonus.
Fresh milk and a coffee/pod machine would be nice. Bathrooms were smalll with shower over bath, Funny/unclean smell persisted in the reception area. Pricey. If we were staying more than one night or during the summer we'd probably have chosen the sister hotel nearby that has pools etc. We were made to feel extremely unwelcome in the roof top bar - they weren't particularly busy, but the woman working there was dismissive and rude to the point of being hostile. We left and went elsewhere.

Location has to be the best in Alicante. So close to everything. It was clean, friendly reception staff, beautiful rooms, great food, comfy beds…
Nothing really. The staff in the restaurant could have been slightly friendlier but they were ok, not rude, just a bit distant and maybe just stressed. I can understand why though, it is a fairly small restaurant and they get a lot of people they have to find tables for. This said, it all ran smoothly. Obviously it would have been great if there was a pool or an open-air terrace on the roof for drinks but we knew this before booking and we were able to get this elsewhere. Overall nothing to complain about. A lovely hotel.

The staff and room. Once I’d paid to upgrade due to there mix up, we got a suite for €30 more on the 12 floor. Brilliant even though the bathroom was a little tired. It’s to be expected with all the footfall. Well stocked fridge with plenty of nibbles. Fantastic sea view. Great breakfast selection. Great check out time 12 noon 😃
Booked a balcony room given 3001 but the door to the big balcony was a window, so we would have had to climb out! Staff offered an upgrade for more money, which was good value but should have been give a room for free with a balcony. But they did not have one in our booking price. Lady at the reception was very helpful and sorted us a room.

The hotel receptionists were super and we received a warm welcome and were shown how to use the lift, not as easy as I thought. The premium room on 22nd floor has excellent views over the habour and the castle, a lovely sunrise. There was a balcony but it was too chilly to sit out on. The room was very spacious, huge bed, sofa and a TV which could swivel to watch in bed or on the sofa.Bathroom excellent size and towels only changed when you wanted them to, not all hotels follow their own policy on this. Breakfast was varied with cooked and fresh options. The hotel bar was small but had great views and again the staff were friendly and efficient. We ate in the Convistas restaurant for Christmas Day lunch, brilliant food, excellent serving staff. The location is fantastic, close to the old barrion , 5mins from the beach and very close to restaurants , bars and shops. Check out was smooth and reception organised a taxi
The breakfast area was small for the number of guests which meant that at peak times you had to queue to be shown to a table. The staff worked really hard to keep up with clearing the tables but there needed to be more of them. Although there was a good choice of breakfast options, many of the cooked items were only luke warm at best

Great location near to the port, town and beach. The view from our balcony was amazing, albeit we were on the 19th floor. Room was of a good size and breakfast was plentiful, with a good selection. I would definitely use again.
There is not a lot to dislike. This is a typical city hotel you would expect to go to around the world. It has 26 floors and the only negative could be during busy periods the two lifts are not sufficient to service the guests. On Sunday morning, a busy time, we had to walk down the 17 flights for breakfast. Not something that would put us off, but could be challenging for some.

We stayed at Hotel Gan Sol Alicante for one night and overall had a good experience. The dinner buffet offered a variety of options—not all to our taste, but we still found something to eat. The room was clean and comfortable; however, being located next to the elevator meant we heard some noise during the night. That said, since it was just a short stay, it wasn't a major issue. We had an early departure in the morning, and the staff was very thoughtful—they prepared some sandwiches, fruit, and sweets for us to take with us. We really appreciated that gesture.

View from the room was amazing. And the pillows were large. I liked that toothbrush and toothpaste was provided complimentary among other knicknacks. The breakfast had a lot of options, possible to go vegeterian. The dinner menu for dinner included in the stay changed every evening - between 3 choices for first, second course and desert is enough variety and allows for vegeterian option too.
The bed was quite hard. The ventilation or something in the bathroom/behind the wall made a lot of rumbling noise but it was something that could be tuned out.

The location is spectacular! 5 mins from the beach. Completely central. Could walk everywhere. The bus C6 dropped us to within 5 mins walking distance of the hotel. The reception staff were amazing! Really warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Completely set the tone for our vacation. The room (with view) had one of the best views of the ocean I've ever had when I've booked a room with a sea view. The room was well designed. Would happily stay here again :)
It was impossible to get a booking for dinner in the rooftop restaurant- it was the weekend so you need to book a day or two in advance.
