Ginevra on the Concierge desk was extremely thoughtful and helpful. All Hotel staff we encountered were very polite and courteous and very professional especially the bar staff. The hotel provided us with a few surprises that was really appreciated and demonstrated what a luxury hotel should be like. A bottle of bubbly with strawberries on arrival for our special occasion and a bouquet of flowers for Mother’s Day.Can’t thank them enough.

We had dinner in cafe Saigon one night and the staff led by the Maitre D let the side down with very poor service. Mains were served before starters and the same happened with the mid course. The Maitre D didn’t realise he was dealing with discerning guests and thought he could get away with slapdash service.

This is a grand old luxury hotel that is a must visit in San Sebastián. The breakfast was sumptuous. Rooms are enormous and well appointed. King bed was a delight. Located centrally, the whole city is at your footsteps. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. When the two rooms we booked were not located adjacent to one another, the staff worked hard on our behalf to give us two adjacent rooms. This is a quality operation.

The quality of the food at the Saigon restaurant was only average. No coffee maker in room

Rooms were comfortable, centric location and breakfast was delicious.

The hotel and its grounds were very much above average, and the staff, in general were very helpful. The room was excellent.

Very disappointed with a hotel of this prestige , basically only offered a restaurant serving only Vietnamese food, which was extremely mediocre, a hotel of that stature should have more choices for their guests, also we were almost turned away, without a reservation, when we were hotel guests and there was no room, they made space for us and when we entered, it was totally empty, until people starred to arrive later. The worse thing was there was no alternative in the most beautiful hotel we have stayed in!!! Very disappointing!!!

The room was very luxurious with walk in bathroom, shower and tub. Room had a foyer which added to the luxury. Beautiful view from window of the river and ocean. The hotel is within walking distance to just about everything desirable in San Sebastian. The museum was 2 blocks away. Just above the museum is a beautiful park with extensive walking trails. Also a beautiful walking promenade to La Concha Beach, etc. Bring walking shoes! You really do not need cab service there if you are capable. Recommend you book any desirable restaurants in advance of your arrival. The concierge was very helpful, but advance booking is required during high season especially for any Michelin rated restaurants. The concierge gave excellent advice and is able to get you transportation if you visit neighboring villages. I highly recommend going to Getaria for wine tour and a visit to the Balenciaga Museum. The breakfast at the hotel is extensive and excellent. I highly recommend you include that in the room cost. The Maria Christina Hotel is "the place to stay in San Sebastian".

Gorgeous, historic property. The staff was very friendly, and helpful, and thoughtful with wine upon our arrival for our wedding anniversary. Concierge, even though helpful, fell a little short. Location was perfect. The room was very beautiful and comfortable.

As a gay couple, celebrating their wedding anniversary. We received a nice card to “Mr & Mrs” this was after much correspondence with the property prior to our arrival. I know this sounds trivial, as it has occurred at multiple properties. The property is gorgeous. But, no pool, no sauna. Also, housekeeping was very tight with their bathroom products. More English options on the television would have been nice as well.

The room and amenities were excellent. The staff were always extremely friendly and helpful. The bar area was very quaint. The breakfast buffet was very extensive.

Unfortunately our experience at the Cafe Saigon was not very good. Admittedly the quality & taste of the food was good. The restaurant was only about 20% occupied and it took the team an excessively long time to take our orders. Unfortunately the food took just as long to be served. Lastly, the server completely forgot about my order for an expresso.

The room was small - I think probably the least good of this type of room which was a disappointment. There is no spa or pool (I should have checked but assumed as 5 star there would be). They hyped up the breakfast which in reality was a big disappointment bit buffet and a la carte. WHen we went to the bar there was noone there to serve us and getting a drink proved a challenge. When we did get it service and drinks lovely

We loved the size of the rooms and the bed and towel linens. Shampoo was great too! Maid service was very reliable but when the sunlight hit our tv it was covered in dust and the room has serious mold to the point our children are congested and have sinus headaches. The rooms we had were not direct sunlight rooms so they suffered from humidity.

The breakfast should be included in the room rate. We go to our rooms through Amex and we did not have it and it is just too much 160E a day for just breakfast. Maybe an a la charge option?
