We came for wedding and we felt very good in the hotel - everything was perfect: room, bathroom clean, TV and wifi working, breakfast, lunch, dinner, the restaurant, the bar and cocktails - superb. The pool - excellent. Close to the ocean to try - how is it to swim there. Helpful staff, great opportunity to have perfect massage treatment. Close to Colombo, helpful guy Banda (not from the hotel) took us for private shopping treat- have a good health, Banda! Wedding management did run well - on the beach we experienced marvellous Sri Lankan traditional wedding with 100+ guests. Everything was great and we're coming back - great value for money. It was a real Paradise!

In Sri Lanka one must go with the flow. The Hotel should keep up its positive and very good service on this level and work hard in order to maintain it.

The staff is extremely helpful and kind. The service is great, especially in the restaurant. The front desk is also great.

The hotel is old and can be renovated. I don't mean major changes but small repairs would make the place a lot better. The staff does their best to maintain everything clean but as a lot of things are worn out they seem dirty. Also zero sound isolation. You can hear everything from corridor in your room, even whispers. The pool area also needs renovation. It would be great if you manage to enlarge the pool as it is not allowed to swin in the ocean.

Staff were lovely and accommodating. Madu, in reception, was kind and attentive. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and fresh. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good sized swimming pool, which was clean and inviting. Large property with plenty of places to enjoy the sea breeze. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

No shops were close by, although it was easy to get a Tuk Tuk at the gate. There was no furniture on the balcony. However, staff did provide a chair once alerted to it. Beach is not suitable for swimming and a lot of rubbish on the sand. I doubt the fault of the hotel at all. However, it did take away from the beauty of it.

I was looking for a relaxing 4 days after India and Pegasus certainly lived up to that. I needed somewhere where everything was on hand which it was. The room was spacious and clean. I opted for the breakfast and evening meal option, I am glad I did as it’s was a real smorgasbord for the money paid and well worth it with soooo many options. I was a little reluctant to try out the fish restaurant on site initially for lunch as I know from past experiences they charge like a wounded bull ! How wrong was I , good value for money for what was on order and the service first class. A really nice experience was had and to top it off finding a marvellous taxi driver named Jude who was amazing and still calls me for a chat now, god bless him.

Everything was very good , even the small issue of no fridge in my room was rectified quickly with a replacement. The fish restaurant was a little short with some of the food on the menu which I wanted which was a shame but that’s low season I guess for you.

My stay at Pegasus Reef Resort was a truly wonderful experience. The location is absolutely scenic, offering beautiful beach views that create a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The room service and housekeeping were excellent — the staff were attentive, prompt, and ensured everything was perfect throughout the stay. The food at the resort was another highlight. Every meal was delicious. Overall, I highly recommend Pegasus Reef Resort for anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable getaway by the beach.

The food at the resort was delicious overall. However, one small critique is that the buffet menu felt quite repetitive, with only two or three dishes changing each day. A little more variety would have made the dining experience even better.

The food in their Fishery restaurant was excellent. Staff were friendly and very attentive. The hotel grounds were very interesting and it was nice to have access to a pool as well as to be near the sea. We tasted tea made from curry leaves for the first time, and it was delicious.

The hotel was lovely, however was going through some extensive renovations and was therefore very noisy. Unfortunately our rooms were in front of some of the main works, so the noise was disruptive. The staff were apologetic and gave a 25% discount on our dinner on the first night. They were anticipating the renovations would be completed within a month. Although the sea was beside the hotel, it is not recommended to swim in it

The resort obviously was in its heyday sometime in the mid '80s, but it has been well maintained, is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the buffet was perfect for our staycation. The room service menu was awesome and the food was quick and tasty for our lazy afternoon spent in the room. Our kids loved the pool, I liked how easy it was for me to keep and eye on them while they played. The restaurant staff was very accommodating of our poolside lounging as well. The food was actually really good and my kids ate everything they put on their plate--high praise from our picky first born. This is not the most luxurious or picturesque resort in Sri Lanka, but I'd recommend this resort for anyone wanting an affordable spot to escape the hustle and bustle of Colombo or take a rest not far from the airport before starting their trip around the country.

The beach wasn't as nice as the website made it look. It was clean and maintained fine, but the website makes it appear like a play in the surf would be possible, but it's not. I also wish there was a lifeguard at the pool.

Hotel staff were extremely helpful. The pool area and restaurant area are nice with a short walk to the beach. Room was cozy and spacious. It made a world of a difference since we came from a cramped room in Singapore which cost double this price. Breakfast had large selection of Sri Lankan items, if you like Sri Lankan food. Staff were attentive.

The surrounding location is not ideal. This hotel is the best building in the neighbourhood as it is close to a poor fishing community where roads are not properly maintained and also not clean with rubbish dumps close to the roads leading to the hotel. I guess this is not the responsibility of the hotel but an inefficient local council.

The location worked perfectly for me, allowing for easy family visits while maintaining my own place to stay. The food was great, at both the buffet and the Fishery restaurant. It is a nice quiet place for family as well as those looking for a quiet getaway and to work remotely.

The hotel could do more to make the beach more inviting and useful and perhaps might add to the appeal. A boardwalk from the outdoor area to the beach would be awesome. There were minor slips that are not worth mentioning given the overall service. However there are some hotels in Colombo that are comparable and less pricey.

Excellent large room (I'm referring to the connected family room towards the beach front). Clean and friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. They have a very large car park.

Pool is relatively small to such a large hotel.
