Amazing location in front of the lake and views to the mountains. The walk from the station is very nice as you walk by the lake and it takes around 10-15minutes. I was impressed by the breakfast as it was very complete and had options for lactose intolerance people and excellent coffee machine available with vegan milk too. It was one of the highlights of the hostel.

Only one men’s toilet in the ground floor. Bunk beds were a bit noisy and also walls were very thin so you could hear people on the corridors etc. It’s a youth hostel but I was not expecting to see so many kids there. Like lots of families with children.

Great hostel in beautiful location with very great staff, especially Sarah, who was welcoming, kind, and extremely friendly. Very nice hostel all around, with delicious breakfast included, and a nice outside area to enjoy magnificent views.

Overall great value and pleasant stay, but my room had 14 beds all on the floor so it kind of felt like a summer camp, especially when people would noisily come back in the room late at night. Also very family friendly, but this meant that there were many younger kids running around which at times felt hectic. Minor complaints from an otherwise wonderful stay.

The staff tried to help me in the best possible way! Sara at the reception and the chef in the main kitchen also helped me with some fruits and a sandwich for my breakfast the previous night itself as I had to checkout early morning. It was a saviour! And the location is of course very beautiful. Its about 15 mins walk from the station but there is also a bus stop nearby. There is a nice common lounge with puzzles and books and a great green space outdoors by the lake. You don’t actually need to go anywhere while staying here to enjoy the view or to swim in the lake. In general it was clean.

The beds are too close by, I was fortunate that the bed by my side was vacant, otherwise I wouldn’t have slept as nicely. The train track passed just outside my dorm window but the train doesnt run during the night so I wasn’t disturbed at all. The kitchen facility is bare minimum with just some cutlery, microwave and a kettle. Few mugs would be nice although they could be shared from the main dining area upstairs.

Big Sinks, As Central as it gets, Comfortable beds, MiniMarket within the Hostel and quite cheap, Fruits available 24hours (personal preference), Employees putting superhuman effort to actually make sure that everything runs smoothly every single day, great decoration, while central, its still away enough from the noisy road and it is literally on top of the sea located, a brilliant system with lockers for our personal belongings, powerplugs for charging phones literally everywhere, even inside the bathroom/toilets. The best of all, the price includes breakfast which is a game-changer for the competition. Theres just not enough space, i could be writing for hours. Recommended !

I dont like that theres just one building. It could expand or get another location nearby, it would be as much as (fully) booked.

Everything!Toilets and shower area was clean and comfortable and spacious also the rooms.The buffet breakfast was also really good(it's fresh and typical breakfast).And the best part was the view at the backyard, it's stunning! Definitely will comeback here.

No locker I think and the WiFi was very slow or almost nothing in our room(female room).We didn't manage to used it at all from our room which is the receptionist already told us before hand.we need to go downstairs to access the wifi

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Brienz Youth Hostel with three of my friends, and I must say that our experience was nothing short of excellent. Their helpfulness and genuine interest in ensuring our stay was comfortable truly made a difference. The hostel itself exceeded our expectations in every way. The rooms were clean, and well-maintained, providing us with a comfortable place to rest after a long day of exploring the beautiful surroundings. The beds were comfortable, the common areas were also impressive and cozy offering a great space to relax, socialize, and meet other travelers. One of the highlights of our stay was the breathtaking view from the hostel's terrace. Overlooking the stunning Lake Brienz and surrounded by picturesque mountains, it provided the perfect backdrop for enjoying our morning coffee or simply soaking in the tranquility of the area. Great location by the lake with nice garden, facilities are clean and spacious. Staff super helpful.

If you are not in a big group you might want to reconsider staying in a 16-bed dorm because the beds are very close to each other. I was there when there were only a few of us in the room so it was fine but if the room was full it might be a bit strange sleeping next to a stranger.

Beautiful place, beautiful people. The hostel was quite busy while I was there and hosts all types of people from solo travellers to large school groups, but I enjoyed the diversity and community. It's close to the train station, it's perfectly clean, the breakfast was amazing and the staff are wonderful people.

It was minor but the shared kitchenette is very basic. Just a microwave, kettle and fridge - but better than nothing.

Perfect location, staff were very accommodating, the rooms and bathrooms were maintained very well and the included breakfast was amazing! The view from our balcony/window was beautiful!

The showers for me and my friends were annoying, had hold down the button in order for water to stay on also while holding the shower head. The water always switch from hot to cold.
