The property is set in the most wonderful of locations! Opening the wooden doors in the morning to such a perfect view is something money has trouble buying these days!! On check in, Joseph (I think that’s his name) was great, telling us everything we needed to know. Breakfast was continental, and although not everybody’s taste, was refreshingly nice (Even though I’m British I found it just great). I noticed a few reviews of Iseltwald mention it’s great for one night as there isn’t much to do, but we stayed 5 nights and found it was an ideal place as the buses and boats run often, and you always get a seat. I would definitely stay here again, the only problem is that there is so many places to visit in Switzerland. My Wife rated this getaway as her best, and we’ve traveled quite a bit! We started to feel like visiting family house. It’s our 2nd time staying in this beautiful hotel. First it was just me and my wife couple of months ago and we fell in love with the view, kindness of the staff and the cleanliness. That’s why this time we booked again 3 nights for us and for our parents and this time again without any surprises it exceeded our expectation. To start with, staffs are just amazing, so attentive, helpful and kind. On top of it, View of the rooms and location of the hotel is just unbeatable. Breakfast with many varieties are just perfect add-on.We had dinner 2 nights in the restaurant and each of us tried different meals in each night and all of the selections on the menu were just exceptional. We loved it all. Hat to the chef 🧑‍🍳 So, overall we enjoyed a lot and definitely we’ll come back again. Thank you so much again Châlet du Lac family !

Amazing. The staff was very kind to us. The breakfast was delicious and quite complete. The restaurant has good options for lunch and dinner. The room was comfortable and clean, and the location is one of the best in Switzerland. If you have a reservation in Iseltwald, you can request the Interlaken Guest Card, which allows you to take the bus for free and gives you discounts on activities like boat tickets, for example.

Just be aware that Iseltwald has only a few restaurant options, including the hotel's restaurant, and one grocery store. No drug store. After 7 PM, the road to Interlaken is closed and there are no bus services. You just need to plan yourself and be prepare.

Felt like a "discovery", quiet, tucked away from the world. Food very good. My room was a renovated attic room. Quaint, but not for anyone taller than 170cm. Also lots of stairs, no lift, a little tricky with a suitcase, esoecially if older, which I am.

Main desk personnel was well trained, but lacked warmth, may be due to a nationality where smiles and hospitality were not usual. That person also served us dinner, very correctly. Possibly an out of season circumstance led to a multi-role position. Room nice, but not for a long stay, unless one spent lots of time on the lake.

This was one of our best stays in Switzerland and the location is unmatched. It's right on the bank of Lake Brienz and you get the pristine blue lake views right from your room (we had the lake view room with a balcony). Iseltwald is exceptionally quaint and beautiful and the hotel is a nice, authentic Swiss chalet with very beautiful rooms and authentic wooden furniture with a wonderful balcony. The main Iseltwald bus station is a 5 min walk (350m) away and so is the boat station (for boats to Interlaken and Brienz. The hotel has a limited, but very nice spread for breakfast with cereal, milk, fruits, bread, cheese, croissants, tea, coffee, juices, yoghurt (no hot dishes). Their coffees are exceptional! The rooms comes with a kettle and they provide fruits for you. Very clean. There is a restaurant in the front of the hotel that can get noisy when busy (it's shut on Monday and Tuesday). There are multiple kayaking, paddling options in a 5 min walk, on the promenade of the lake. Lovely area and a big local shop is next to the main bus stop

The prime location in the lake front with parking is obviously a massive bonus. Hotel staff are very friendly and attentive. Restaurant food very good. Room was spacious with amazing balcony to view the lake.

Not much However... Asked on 2 occasions for an extra pillows never got them yet, pillows are giant marshmallows with no support, I think house swapped pillows but no extra.l ones. Sadly not very good for a registered visually impaired person !! My wife had problems on the stairs as the lighting is dim and stair covering is the same colour and could not see the edges due to lighting, there needs to be a contrasting colour on the stairs, even a black edge. A really nice hotel in a superb location, but could do with an disability accessibility update.

Lack of air-conditioning. In this day and age you'd expect hotels (especially when they are expensive) to have an air-conditioning unit in each room (not necessarily central air-conditioning) that blows both hot and cold to be used accordingly depending on the season. It may be Switzerland but Summers here are as hot as the beaches! The night spent was very uncomfortable because of the heat even with the windows open. But this was the the case in all the hotels we stayed at across Switzerland...the only negative experience.

Very lovely hotel with marvelous view on the lake and castle, Terrasse where you can relax with some nice food or drinks, cozy and clean rooms. Easy accessible parking space where we always found a free parking. 10min walk to the dock where your can take a ferry or enjoy full of nature Trecking tracks. Pet friendly, our dog could stay with us everywhere which is amazing! But what is extraordinary is the hotel staff - an outstanding team of great people, always happy and helpful. That brings amazing spirit!

Overall great experience. Let me start with the location and the view from the room - the hotel is located just by the lake with a magnificent view. Waking up a morning with this beautiful view from window&balcony makes you feel waking up in a heaven. The rooms are very cleaned and specious/big enough to provide very comfortable stay. The staffs are very nice and kind - we stayed during my wife's birthday and all of the staffs were so nice coming and celebrating her. Breakfast offers great variety and very tasty. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and it was simply super. We had Autumn Special Meal with Deer Meat and specialties of Autumn vegetables. Overall was a great experience and we'll come back again in the summer to enjoy the lake

The view is absolutely stunning from the balcony rooms facing the lake. Completely worth every penny. Most beautiful hotel view I’ve ever seen. The breakfast is excellent. The restaurant on sight is also delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Great location to walk around Iseltwald. Close proximity to many places we planned to visit. Parking on site was plentiful and easy.
