I absolutely loved the breakfast—healthy, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. The staff were all incredibly kind, polite, respectful, and helpful. Yesterday, since I had to check out early and wouldn’t have time for breakfast, they even prepared my meal the night before so I could take it with me and enjoy it on the train. That thoughtful gesture meant a lot. Every member of the team—from the cleaners to the food servers and front desk and facility manager—was consistently friendly and accommodating. They replaced my towels daily, and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel’s location is fantastic: just steps away from the train station, with a stunning lake view in front and breathtaking mountains in the back. If I ever return to Switzerland, I’ll definitely choose to stay there again.

For the price the room was good especially having the lake view ,balcony and breakfast. The staff were all very friendly also.

I booked a non-en suite room knowing I’d be sharing a bathroom, but the setup was unusual and not made clear when booking. My room had a locked connecting door to a bathroom that I couldn’t use, yet it was shared by the room next door. This meant I could hear everything through the thin door (with a gap underneath) whenever it was used, which was very loud and uncomfortable. On top of that, I still had to use the shared bathroom out in the corridor. Overall, it felt like a strange and poorly explained arrangement.

We stayed one night at Seehotel Bären and were truly touched by the exceptional hospitality—especially from the lovely receptionist, Coni. Even before we arrived, she kindly offered to pick us up from the train station and handled the arrangements so smoothly. When we reached Brienz, the driver was already waiting, and everything was coordinated perfectly via the booking app. Coni is not only professional, but also incredibly warm, friendly, and great with children—our little girl adored her! The hotel has a beautiful lake view and a cozy in-house restaurant. Breakfast exceeded our expectations: a generous spread with cheeses, breads, juices, different types of milk, and even fun surprises like Korean cup noodles! A thoughtful touch that made our morning feel extra special. Although we only stayed for one night, we felt it was very good value for money, especially if you’re looking for a place that’s cost-conscious without sacrificing comfort and kindness. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Brienz!

Breakfast was nice, really good on Saturday. The view to the lake from our bedroom was superb and by night is very quiet. We even could sleep with the balcony door open to get some fresh air!

The bathroom is very small, old and has a leak in the shower (leak= constant flow). It is noticeable that this hotel has seen better times and it needs an urgent renewal as some facilities look old and untidy. And they can use more staff: our room wasn't cleaned one day and really late on other. It's a shame, because the location es very good and it would be a really nice place with a good investment.

The staff were really kind and helpful—many thanks to the lady at reception for agreeing to store our water in the refrigerator. Check-in and check-out were easy. Everything was clean, and the location was great. The parking is at the bottom of the hotel, and the view is simply stunning, whether facing the lake or the mountains. The breakfast was also good, and there’s an elevator. We were very happy with our stay.

There is no mini fridge or fan in the rooms. The rooms and equipment are a bit old-fashioned.

The staff were friendly approachable and professional at all times. We stayed for 4 nights amazing views, private bathroom and breakfast included. The food was really good and worth your money! Large selection for vegetarians. I also used the shared toilets downstairs by the bar they were clean too. I felt safe in the hotel and I felt welcomed. The staff gave us good recommendations in terms of hikes and activities to do.

There is nothing that we didn't like! Everything was great and we have no complaints. If I really had to say something "bad" is that our room was next to a smokers room and one night I entered our bathroom which shared air ventilation with theirs I assume and it was filled with smoke. As a none smoker I didn't like that but we just opened our window and it went away quickly. But it's not the end of the world and I wouldn't complain about it, I think it's great to have an option to book a smokers room to avoid having to cross contaminated all rooms by different guests smoking in there. I would definitely come back here and I will be recommending this place to friends family and even colleagues.

Warm welcome. Excellent location. Loved the seaview surrounded by mountains from my balcony. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast- cereals, variety of rolls, cheese, meat, jams, fruit. Great cappuccinos. Staff (especially Julian) went out of their way to ensure had excellent stay. Even organised/arranged free taxi to take me to and from nearby station (Brienz)- only 12 minutes walk but I had several bags with me. Thankyou to you all. I hope to return one day.

Great location, right on the lake front and very close to all shops and amenities. The buffet breakfast was exceptional. A very good selection of food to choose from, and also well catered for dairy and gluten free guests. The receptionist was also very friendly and helpful.

A hook on the back of the door of my room would have been useful to hang up my bath towel, as I had a room without a bathroom.

The room offers a nice view of the lake, but the best views are actually from the terrace, where you can enjoy an aperitif or dinner. The staff is friendly and deserves to be acknowledged.

It’s not easy to find an available hotel parking spot. The town is busy with tourists during the day, but it quiets down nicely in the evening. The hotel itself feels quite old for the room prices and would really benefit from some renovation.

GERLINDE! Gerlinde is MAGIC! Was accommodating and explained to me that I booked a room without the bathroom. And that was fine. We both had a birthday the day afterI checked in. The morning of my birthday there was a table with birthday celebration decorations waiting for me at the delicious buffet breakfast. Best breakfast of my entire week vacation in Switzerland.

Honestly it was a perfect stay. Maybe the dinner staff was too thin and service was slow. But the people that were woking were great. They just needed help.
