We always wanted to stay in a Swiss chalet with exceptional views to experience pure Swissness and avoid city hotels. During our four-night stay with family, we were mesmerised by the Hotel’s remarkable location overlooking Lake Brienz and nestled amidst picturesque hills, offering unparalleled vistas of Switzerland’s natural beauty. Brienz Railway station is 10 minutes which is very well connected to Interlaken ost with direct 20 min ride. Brienz is a very small town and you have very limited food options. Fortunately we got few frozen and ready to eat items which has helped us. There is COOP local super market near Brienz railway station. Our accommodation resembled a charming Swiss-style chalet apartment, complete with a kitchenette. Our experience was truly delightful, thanks to the accommodating staff who were always on hand to assist us whenever needed. Hotel provides free shuttle for arrival and departure to Brienz Station. Please inform them well in advance to avoid in convenience as the hotel is located on the hill.

The only drawback is the uphill climb to the hotel each time you venture out for sightseeing excursions. Returning from Brienz Station to the hotel can be cumbersome. Providing a shuttle service daily every 30 minutes or upon guest request for all the guests staying in the hotel would greatly alleviate this inconvenience.

We had a family room with balcony and hot tub. It was fantastic for our family of four (small kids) and dog. The view could not have been better and the space was roomy, comfortable and clean. The hotel facilities are spread out and include everything you could want - from a playground, to grounds to walk around with the dog and a lovely pool. The restaurant and breakfast had everything we could need to start and end our day. And, the staff were so welcoming. The hotel is fantastically located in Brienz, just a short 15-30 minute drive to two family friendly ski sites and walking distance from the Brienz train station. We will be more than happy to go back in the summer to try out the historic mountain train.

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children (<10yrs) enjoyed our 2 night stay in the Classic Family Room. The location is breathtaking. Perched on the mountain above the train station to the left. We had two very large suitcases that we had to roll up the hill. This was a little challenging and hot as this was in the summer (August). Though wheeling our way down to the train station was easy. There is even a little short cut after you leave the hotel premises onto the street - a concrete path that spits out to the train track crossing (follow the bear picture). Also a 10 min walk to the free Wildpark Brienz. Breakfast was included and had a number of options - cooked and cold breakfast, yoghurts, muesli, breads and pastries. It was quite warm in August so the kids really enjoyed the pool. The restaurant for lunch and dinner has an extensive list that cater Swiss and Asian delicacies. The food was very nice but coming from Oz, we couldn’t eat here every day. There is also a little playground outside the breakfast area that the kids used after breaky.

It was a bit warm in the room on the second level. However, there is a fan which helped. The couch is very small and could only fit two adults. TV could go for an upgrade. On the plus, we could still connect our Chromecast to the TV to use our Netflix and other streaming apps. Other places we’ve been to has the TV is locked where you can’t switch to other ‘source’ like HDMI and therefore can’t use Chromecast.

I made the decision to change from Interlaken to Brienz and it was the best decision I made. The breakfast was exceptional for European standards. The restaurant had the tastiest food at decent costs. The views were stunning. My room was stunning and huge. And my bed was so comfy. The hot water was consistently hot, which was a good thing because I woke up to some frosty summer mornings. And I could see a waterfall from my room. It's not far to get to popular sites from here. Or you can rent out a hot tub boat at Lake Brienz. The card given at reception helped me get discounts where the Swiss half pass could not eg. Aare Gorge/Aareschlucht. They also had a hot tub on site. They did give me the option to help with luggage down to the train station but I only had a day bag. The hotel was an uphill walk of ten minutes from Brienz Station and it might be a struggle with suitcases.

Location was excellent but it is on top of the mountain and you have to have enough stamina to walk down and up during your stay. Good scenery and greenery all over.. breakfast was exceptionally good,. Coffee and tea arrangement at room

It was too hot here during the day in June 25 and there was just one small standing fan which was not enough for the couple. Secondly no elevator and it was difficult for us to climb stairs to the 3rd floor and also hard to bring up and down the luggage without an elevator. Thirdly no intercom was available at room for each and every query you have to go yo the reception without an elevator, fourthly when you open the windows for ventilation the flies came inside the room and was annoying,

The hotel has a great view of the Brienzersee. Breakfast was nice. People in the reception and restaurant were very friendly.

The shower/bathroom could be better. It is not suitable for a hotel like this. Instead of the glass door, it was just covered with a curtain.

From the moment we arrived, the warm and attentive welcome set the tone for a perfect stay. Our spacious, spotlessly clean room offered breathtaking views of Lake Brienz and the surrounding Alps. Each morning’s breakfast buffet was generous and beautifully presented, featuring fresh local cheeses, breads, and fruit. The lakeside location is unbeatable for relaxing strolls, and the friendly staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home.

Honestly, very little. There was a brief hallway disturbance one night, but the reception team handled it immediately and courteously, so it didn’t affect our overall enjoyment.

It’s all about the view, of course which is spectacular Most of the staff was terrific and very helpful The food was fine Nothing to write home about but fine We had a nice size room with balcony overlooking the lake and there was a refrigerator and coffee and tea maker

Despite the beautiful setting, this is a three star hotel, and the food and other amenities reflect that One woman at the front desk was borderline rude Having said that we still totally enjoyed our stay There was a huge bathtub in the room Which I enjoyed, but my husband found it difficult to shower from kneeling position

We absolutely loved our Alpen bedroom with the beautiful view to the lake and linden trees. Brienz is a beautiful small town with lots of gems around to see. The hotel all around is very picturesque and beautiful as you would except in this region. We enjoyed our stay very much

The breakfast was a bit disappointing, it was exactly the same every day, no variations.. On some mornings they ran out of eggs and croissants. Could use more local cheese and handmade jam... Just a suggestion. Another thing please don't do gardening maintenance early in the morning with noisy machinery. Overall 9/10
