Stayed in a 4 bunk room as a family. Pretty basic, but clean and comfortable. Very nice to also have a private balcony you can sit on, with beautiful view of the lake! Also good to have a fridge in communal area so we could have cereal for breakfast and make sandwiches for lunch. The outdoor restaurant over the road (run by Lake Lodge) is lovely (closed on Wednesdays). Front desk staff very helpful with suggestions for hiking - did a beautiful, easy lakeside walk from the hostel (1.5 hours). The boat across the lake is free with the public transport pass you will get for free from the hostel.

Obviously value for money is relative - everywhere in Switzerland is expensive! The shared showers were a bit pokey and hard to get dressed in, but it's doable.

Lake Lodge is located at a stunning spot. It provided good hospitality. The lady at the reception was lovely and helpful. Overall, a pleasant stay. I would definitely come back and recommend it to others.

- It would be good to have a full length mirror inside of the room if possible - Says the kitchen is fully equipped but only a microwave to heat food. There's no hob for communal use and that would have made life so much easy! - This is not about the Lodge per say but people can be a bit noisy and unthoughtful of the time like keeping the washing machine/dryer on outside of the recommended hours, banging doors & shifting room furniture late at night. The Lodge does provide ear buds but for those who aren't comfortable with using it can be a bit challenging!

Firstly great location. Right by the lake - Brienz. The route from interlaken to the hostel is gorgeous. And reaching there automatically brings a smile to you face. We were 10 of us in 2 rooms of 6 and 4 each. Clean and tidy rooms with lake view. Considering how expensive the accommodations are everywhere, this felt like a great deal. Staff was nice and co-operative.

Reception staff is available only till 11am. After that straight from 4pm-8pm. This is odd as we can't check in nor drop off our luggage in that time. There should be more food items available in the hostel.

The location is GORGEOUS! Beyond my wildest dreams to be here by that beautiful lake and mountains. The property has super friendly staff and a restaurant across the road (which is closed on Wednesdays). I left my wallet in the sheets (oops) and was already back in the town trying to catch the train, and the reception gave the wallet to the next bus. So I met the driver. Thank you so so much this saved our day 🥹

Shading a bathroom with 10 people was not fun. But I thought of it like I was at summer camp. The building is old and creepy and wooden, but again it just felt like a cabin at summer camp.

Lake Lodge Hostel was perfect for our stay in Iseltwald! The view from the balcony was absolutely stunning, and we loved having access to a clean shared bathroom and shower — everything was easy and comfortable. The laundry room and fully equipped kitchen were also really convenient and appreciated.

There were just a couple of small downsides: the floors were quite noisy, and you could hear people walking upstairs. There was also a strange smell downstairs near the kitchen. But honestly, despite those points, everything else was so great that we truly enjoyed our stay!

-view from the room was excellent, always looking forward to the morning. room was spacious, had a tap inside so u can do some light washing up in the morning. -shared toilet was clean, but have to either shower early or later to have a steady flow of hot water. -the washing machine and dryer were godsent. -counter staff was very helpful with travel advice. -common area was good for meals! bring your own heating pots as they only have a kettle and microwave to heat up food. -many places to walk to and explore around iseltwalt

not a complaint, but if you want the convenience to and fro the other major attraction(Grindelwald/Lauterbrunnen), you have to catch the right bus timing.

The staff is the best single adavantage of this hostel, you can get advice or just have a nice chat. Location is perfect: very pleasant little village on the lake shore, in the evening very quiet. Perfect base for exploration of the Alps. Adjacent bar is also very nice. Parking has sufficient capacity, no problem with that.

Ok, it's a hostel, you meet with various people here, equipment is appropriate. Kitchen is basicaly a microwave (no stove), fridge (no freezer) and sink. Floors are kind of noisy. If you don't have a car, the location may seem a bit isolated.

Host was amazing! Couldnt ask for a perfect host, very kind and helpful, and goes above and beyond! Amazing customer service! Location was 10/10 with its own restobar in front of the lake its a young travellers dream!

Not for families with kids. Dated hostel with no fans and uncomfortable beds and pillows. Summer time was tough couldnt sleep due to the heat and there was no fans on the room. This is a cheap and easy fix for the mgt.

We had an amazing time in this hotel in the quaint village of Iseltwald, so relaxing there, the location is not far from Interlaken and attractions in Bernese Oberland, and views are stunning. Staffs are friendly and accomodating, although this is kind of a hostel, it is clean and properly maintained. Recommended to anyone who wants to have a relaxing stay and wander around the Swiss Alps. Brilliant location for staying with friends. We had a car and found it brilliant. Definitely glad we stayed there instead of interlaken. A stone throw from the lake. Swimming every morning at 8am.

There is no AC and this is the only thing that it was missing. Everything else was perfect for a group of lads sharing a 6 bed room. Even a fan would make this place perfect. We did know it had no AC so its not a complaint but just a comment.
