The hotel was one of the best in terms of historic building, location, views, sophisticated behaviour of the hotel staff, excellent breakfast and dinner restaurant. All in all I with my family had an unforgettable experience and one of these days want to come back and visit again. I strongly recommend anyone visiting Interlaken area to stop by at least for a day and if possible longer.

Taxi availability to Interlaken Rail station after hours is not adequate. I suggest the Hotel should have its own car drop off service 24/7.

Nice castle like hotel.

We made a reservation as forest view. But,no view at all… Only receptionist are nice. Other staff are very arrogant, especially the restaurant staff. I understand they are busy but we seemed to be completely ignored. Food is very expensive for the quality.

Our waterfall room with balcony was perfect. The breakfast was amazing and there were many options from which to choose. The food was very good for lunch and dinner and the grounds are beautiful. After a problem checking in and a gruff staff member another staff member went above and beyond to be kind and helpful.

When we checked in, our reservation was not printed out and the staff member was very upset and gruff. All other staff members were kind. I wish the funicular would run a bit earlier so that we could have ridden it before we checked out. Also, the restaurant got very crowded with tourists during lunch and hotel guest did not have a priority or another area to eat. We did not know about the crowds our first day there and could not get lunch the day we checked in even though we were staying there. It would be helpful if the restaurant were open longer to accommodate hotel guests. We had to eat lunch elsewhere on our first day there.

Location is outstanding. Amazing views of the enchanting lake Brienz and the Giessbach Falls and surroundings. Sleep experience is excellent. The Hotel architecture and interior decoration is of such fine artistic taste and luxury, it is a gem. Quite classical and historic as if one is living the high life in the 19th century. Cuisine too was of a high standard with great variety and quality. Excellent restaurant staff attitude and courtesy.

We felt like royalty. The breakfast spread was excellent and filled with choices for everyone. The view of the waterfall from our room felt like a dream. We were lulled to sleep. Bathroom was one of the cleanest we've seen. We also took a complimentary hotel shuttle to/from the train station to make it easy to travel with our bags. It's easy to take the funicular to the water taxi to get to interlaken ost and it's a great area to stay if you wish to hike around the waterfall area.

A bit inconvenient to get drinking water as it's on the top floor of the hotel in the lobby. The hotel shuttle was quite busy at times and there wasn't a great system to ensure people could reserve a space in advance. The funicular only runs limited hours, so if you plan to rely on that, double-check the schedule. Lastly, if you value convenience over beauty, this might not be the most efficient location for your trip.

The location was ammmazing!! The views from the hotel were stunning.

The pool was a bit of a disappointment as there were lizards swimming in it so kids couldn’t dare to swim. Needs to be kept clean so can be used or atleast isn’t freaky.

The property is as unique of a property as I’ve ever stayed at. The location, architecture, and unique style was so perfect for my wife & I to really enjoy a romantic trip through Switzerland. We had the most incredible experience walking the property and going behind the waterfall! The breakfast was delicious as well!

The shower was not the best. I would’ve liked to had a shower big enough for two people.

The view of Lake Brienz and the waterfalls are stunning. The staff were extremely nice and welcoming. Dinner was decent ( we really like the venison) as was breakfast- quite the spread. Our room was normal sized, clean and comfortable. Nice modern bathroom.

There was no iron available to use!! We were traveling for 23 days in suitcases and stayed here for 1 night. My dresses were very wrinkled and they had no iron to borrow and said the laundry service could iron something with 24 hours notice. I find that absolutely ridiculous! It does not cost very much to have one available for guests. So I was forced to wear jeans and a sweater to dinner. That didn't make me very comfortable or happy. I can't be the only guest that has complained about this issue, although the person at the desk made me feel as though I was.

Our stay at this hotel was epic. A Grand Hotel by every meaning of the word. Majestic views, unique room (yes unique because it didn’t have your run of the mill amenities) and we felt we were transported to not too distant past.

Nothing to mention really. We were expecting the best. I would have mentioned the old style and smelly cabinet but it actually felt authentic.
