The view from the balcony overlooking Lake Brienz is absolutely breathtaking. I genuinely don’t think there’s a place on Earth that could match it, or even come close. It left me speechless. Words fall short, and my vocabulary isn’t enough to give it justice. With that view, the cleanliness and design of the room made it feel like a dream. Every piece of furniture was exactly where it should be; more than comfortable, perfectly placed, and spotless. I still can’t believe I had the privilege of spending four nights there. The bus stop is immediately in front of the hotel, which made everything super convenient. The hotel also has two excellent restaurants and is located right in the middle of all the places I wanted to visit. The staff went above and beyond, warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. The kayak school was right next door, and the breakfast… the cheeses alone deserve a whole review of their own. The whole experience cannot be described in a short review. When I return to Switzerland and Interlaken, I will absolutely stay here again. Every second I spent in that room, with that view and atmosphere, felt surreal; like a dream, with a balcony in heaven. Everything was beyond perfect.

The location facing the length lake Brienz was amazing. The view of the lake was surrounded by only mountains. Unlike other lake front properties, one doesn't look across the lake to the opposite shore, but instead the view along the long axis of the lake is unspoiled by anything. It is located in a suburb of Interlaken called Bonigen. The jetty for the lake cruises is just a few steps away and the Bonigen See bus stop is across the road, which makes it very easy to go into town center with the free bus pass. The hosts made us feel welcome and helped us with anything we needed. We had booked a garden room but we're upgraded to a lake view room with a balcony where one could sit and watch the lake all day long.

1. The vegetarian options in the menu were limited and we only had a few choices which we could try. 2. The bathtub was a little high walled which might make climbing in or out be a challenge for some people.

What didn’t I like?? When I say this is one of the absolute best experiences I’ve had at a hotel I still fall short of explaining it correctly. I work for a travel company and have stayed at hotels all over the world and the service here was the absolute best I’ve encountered. The views of the lake are spectacular, the food was great, the location is perfect- you will not be disappointed!! 1000 stars would be the review!

It’s not that I didn’t like it- but be prepared it is a historic hotel and although I loved the charm and atmosphere- some US travelers may feel the bathrooms should be updated- but again because everything at this hotel was absolutely spectacular you shouldn’t let this deter you!

The view from the room, from the balcony and window, was awesome. The hotel sits bang on the shore of Lake Brienz, so the mountains and Lake make for a fascinating vista. The room was very comfortable. Bönigen is a lovely suburb itself and great for taking short walks around - it's just a half-hour walk to Wilderswill from where we took a train to Lauterbrunnen. It's also a short bus ride to Interlaken, with the bus stop being right next to the hotel. The local taxis were quick to respond to calls when we needed them during our trips in and out of Interlaken OST, as it was raining both times and we had a bit of luggage. The Italian food in the in-house restaurant is amazing.

The staff was very nice, the view from our room was breathtaking taking! The location is right across beautiful Lake Brienz, in a quiet little town. There is a bus stop very close to the hotel - which is a short ride to Interlaken for main train connections & travel conveniences. The boat dock is just a short walk away - the lake ride was beautiful!!

We were upgraded to a large room with an enormous bath tub - a plus for many people but we mostly like to take showers but - we did adjust to extra luxury

The location was beautiful and right next to the lake. Breakfast was very nicely handled and organized. The staff at the hotel were friendly while the staff at the pizza place seemed like they didn’t like tourists

It was a bit from downtown Interlaken so had to rely on the bus to get to the restaurant and shops area.

We wish we could give more than 5 stars as we enjoyed our stay so much! In our humble opinion the hotel has the best location and the most stunning view of the lake. The hotel has such a beautiful charm and it feels like home. It reminds of a summerhouse where you come every year with your family and make great memories. Our room was beautiful and everything was as we wished and more. Very clean! You can open many windows and make the room nice and cool. The bathroom is just a beautiful choice of colors and shapes. Breakfast was excellent and we ate to our hearts desire in the restaurant at the hotel and the pizzeria! In the evenings we enjoyed playing chess or games in the playroom. Last but most important one the owner and the staff are just wonderful and kind people and made our stay warm and complete. Everything was perfect!

We were fortunate to be upgraded to a room facing the lake (instead of the garden). Magnificent! Front desk staff and manager were friendly and helpful. The restaurant is excellent and the servers professional. (Jennifer was also hysterically funny.) The bus to Interlaken was right out front as well as the boat ride around the lake. Comfortable beds that are able to be raised at the head for reading. Deep, deep bathtub!

NO AIR CONDITIONING. I was stunned that for 300+ euros a night there was just a small, portable fan in the room. I asked for a second and they brought a larger one. But, it was still HOT in the room unless we were sitting in front of the fan. I can’t recommend this hotel in hot weather. A shame, because otherwise, it’s a stellar experience.

It is the best location ever. We liked it so much that each time we visit Switzerland we shall try to stay at this hotel. Service was top class and the team did everything and more to make your visit worth remembering. We loved it. You might want to spend a whole day at the hotel doing nothing, just gazing at the lake from the balcony, enjoy pristine swiss beauty. Boat port just across the street. Bus & boat connnectivity to many places you may want to visit from Interlaken. Waterfalls, lovely villages all accessible quickly. Plus river by your side for leisurely activities or just strolling. Yet you're cut off from the hustle and bustle of Interlaken. Fantastic choice for a couple or family. Fabulous Italian restaurant in house (weekends only)!

Stefan's hospitality and the overall experience at the hotel were exceptional. A great host, combined with a convenient location, excellent customer service, and friendly hotel staff, undoubtedly made our trip memorable and enjoyable. It's evident that Stefan's efforts to ensure our comfort and satisfaction went beyond expectations when he took the initiative to mail our forgotten iPad to our next destination. We are looking forward to staying with them again, given the positive experience we had. Cheers to Stefan and the hotel team for creating a remarkable guest experience!
