breakfast was exceptional!! we loved our stay at the alpenresort - booked somewhat on a whim because we were looking for something in engelberg and had good reviews but didn't do too much research, and it exceeded expectations! the property was lovely and though it was a bit out of the town the bus ride was easy and the valley was so pretty with a lovely trail to walk or run on + it was closer to fuhrenalp which I highly recommend. We traveled with kids (age 2 and 4) and they loved the kinderzwimmer and the pool - super kid friendly! Also thanks to the lovely front desk who were so nice and helped us dry our shoes after we got caught in the rain

only downside was not being closer to other restaurants, but this was not a big issue for us

Breakfast and dinner onsite were good, the spa and sauna areas were very good. The room was comfortable.

On the second day we just wanted to take the cable car to the top of Titlis but not ski. The cheapest option for us would have been to get a ticket via the SBB app with our half-price cards (CHF 48). We told the staff we didn't want to ski, but instead of giving us the right advice, the staff sold us a ca. CHF 80 ski lift pass, which we didn't need and cost a lot more. When we asked what the price difference would be with or without skiing, the questions was avoided, probably because the realised that they had made a mistake in booking us the lift pass and didn't want to own up to it - possibly because the couldn't undo the booking which they had made in error? But I was disappointed in what I saw as poor service.

The room was spacious enough for 2 adults and one kid with an extra bed, and it was very clean. We initially were unsure about the hotel and the camping ground being together because of the noise, but everyone respected the quiet hours and after 9-ish, it was silent. The playground and pool made it special for the kids for sure. Breakfast was good with plenty of fresh fruit selection, which was a bonus for us. Though, there was no warm options, but that was not a problem for us. Breads were very fresh.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, well appointed rooms. The hotel has an in-house pizzeria and across the street is their higher up restaurant. The pizzeria serves good food. The breakfast is good and well supplies. During the night it was very quiet, as they have taken a lot of precaution to prevent noise from carrying through the hotel. The place has a nice swimming pool and other spa facilities.

Don't expect a sunny place, as it is in the shade of the mountain. The rooms look out on the campground, which is laid out like a tight-packed mobile home park. Nothing that the pizzeria could have done much about, but some guests had a barking dog with them that just kept on barking during the meal. The breakfast was good, but the breakfast lady runs it like a military operation. Don't put anything in the wrong place.

Great place for parents to relax with kids under 12 yrs old. Comfortable spacious room with a balcony and view. They even included a surprise gift for the kids. Complete breakfast with a kids playroom around the corner. Amazing wellness area and swimming area with kids pool, slide and other things for kids to get excited about! The restaurant was gourmet and there was also a kids area to play so parents can actually enjoy their meal. We walked from the hotel to Engelberg center via a beautiful trail that runs along the river (about 20-30 mins walking). Wifi worked perfectly. Everything was very clean. There is also a camping site with small grocery store in case you need anything at all.

The hotel is located in a nice area. There is a hiking trail to Trübsee that starts right at the hotel. The hotel team is very friendly. There is a grocery shop in the hotel that works till 9:30pm, a small one, but there are enough options there. Overall, nice facilities. I want to personally thank the hotel team that agreed to refund my non-refundable booking, because I got sick and had to change the date of arrival.

Very comfortabe and modern facilities, cosy room, very nice bathroom, free parking, very nice indoor pool, location very quit and a bit off but just a short trip to the city center, mostly very friendly staff

The waiter at the restaurant was not happy when we asked for a table for two at 20:50h. We primissed that we will be quick but the waiter kept on complaining that it would surely take too long. He walked into the kitchen to check with the chef, still commenting on our late arrival. We walked away and had dinner elsewhere. Dissappointing work ethics and unusual for Swiss hospitality.

Lovely hotel with large room and comfortable beds. The spa was excellent beyond our expectations with several saunas. The hotel also has a shop and an excellent restaurant so a dinner is sorted for the evening. Sufficient breakfast with great coffee

Note it is a about 20 min to town by foot and no public transport in the evening but hotel may offer a shuttle.

I am back to this place in 2 months so I think I like it. The staff is really friendly. The pool and the different type of saunas are amazing. The pizza is at the hotel's restaurant is really worth to try. The breakfast is amazing and really friendly staff too. Plenty of walking and hiking routes around the hotel. Really recommend A+++

Breakfast and restaurants excellent, with very good service from staff. Location was great. Nice spacious rooms, good retaurants and fabulous swimming pool and spa. Good free ski bus to and from hotel.
