The breakfast is superb, with a comprehensive array of breakfast items that goes above and beyond the usual. For example, there's a wide variety of breads and rolls, as well as wide assortment of grains and cereals. Plus scrambled eggs and bacon for those who are really hungry. And best of all, a fully-automatic espresso/coffee machine! There's also drip coffee. The staff is awesome; very friendly and personable. The restaurant in the hotel is also quite good; we went there twice.

There's no lobby to speak of, so it's not a particularly good place to meet up with people or escape from your room to work or eat a snack. The room we were in was relatively old and quite small; I don't think any of the rooms shown on booking.com look like the one we had.

I was a little concerned when I realized how close the hotel was to the train station, but I needn’t have worried - the whole town is clustered right around the station, trains are infrequent, and they slow down as they approach the terminus, so there was no train noise at all. The restaurant was lovely and convenient, and the breakfast was simple but delightful - I especially appreciated the array of local cheeses, which were delicious.

The room was a little warm (it was an unusually hot day in Engelberg) and there was no fan or way to open the window more than a crack to cool it down. The street below was also a little noisy with crowds of tourists staying across the street, but that is not the fault of the Crystal.

Excellent hotel in prime position, close to train station and other facilities. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble, they make you feel very welcome. The rooms are large and well appointed with daily cleaning. Buffet breakfasts provide a good start to the day with a variety of food on offer. Evening meals also provide a wide choice on the menu with well prepared and very tasty courses, most welcome after a good days hiking in the surrounding mountains!

The staff in general were very pleasant and couldn't do enough for you, however the two owners/managers were so different, with one lady being very pleasant, helpful and always warm in her voice, but the other was the opposite and it could be seen in the way she spoke to staff as well as guests. I do not judge the whole experience on this one person, but the business should watch these interactions as others may be offput by same, but it wouldn't change my recommendation of this being an ideal choice

Everyone at the hotel was warm and friendly, and extremely helpful. This was my 3rd stay at this hotel, and the rooms and facilities have improved every time. The breakfast was superb, and the restaurant offered a varied evening menu at a reasonable price, and with excellent service. Engelberg is a very good centre for walking, and is well served by cablecars and other means of transport, and has a good free bus service around the resort. The Hotel Crystal is very well situated in the centre of the village, adjacent to the train station.

Very well located, a simple but very comprehensive breakfast, clean comfortable room of a good size with a nice view and balcony. Staff were all very friendly and made their guests feel very welcome and a bonus of a beautiful sauna area that included multiple saunas at different temperatures and a steam room, perfect for post-ski relaxation and rejuvenation. If you are looking for a very nice comfortable convenient place to stay in Engelberg at a reasonable price, The Crystal Hotel is a great choice.

Very kind staff, great cleaning room service, perfect location just 1 min from train/bus station with bus connection to Titlis or Brunni ski area. Well equiped ski room. Nice balcony, could be useful during summer months. Hotel is located Approximately 5 minutes by walk from supermarkets.

Mattresses are not very comfortable for us. We missed vegetables for breakfast. There were just not tasty budget mini tomatoes 🍅 (1 day totaly without vegetables) - suggestion for improvement.

The reception staff, particularly the two sister owners, were lovely. My mother's bag was delayed by KLM so she was without walking sticks. The hotel lent her sticks, enabling her to stick to our original holiday plans. We had a room with three single beds, a good-sized bathroom with a lovely big walk in shower and a balcony with views of mountains on three sides. The buffet breakfast gave a good variety of food and drink - the selection of local cheeses and fresh bread and fruit salad was especially nice. The restaurant in the hotel is fantastic. Some of the best meals I've ever had. The white asparagus and pork belly was delicious and the garlic and herb ravioli was mouth-watering. The position is perfect. The hotel is only 2 mins walk from the train station. Don't worry about train noise; it's the last stop on the line, there are only a few trains and only 2 lines - one in, one out. There is a free bus service from the train station to most of the cable car stops and sites.

We only had one very soft pillow each and the mattresses are a little firm - I understand this is all personal taste. 2 pillows would have been much more comfortable and I should have asked for another.

Staff were very helpful, location for hiking and taking the cable car. Close to train station and convenient to restaurant and convenience store Breakfast was versatile and delicious. I like how each room has an assigned table. I was able to leave my luggage in storage room when I went out for my hike.

Almost perfect. Everything was good.

Breakfast was good, but the same breakfast every day. If staying for shorter time (1-3 days,than it is OK). We stayed 5 nights, so wanted something different. If breakfast would be different (ar least something different), than it would be 10 out of 10.
