Beautiful location surrounded by mountains, it was stunning walking around the area. The chalet was lovely, great for letting my toddler wander around and play a bit. The facilities were simple but all that was needed, the bed was comfortable, we appreciated the ceiling fan on warm nights, the small kitchenette with a sink & fridge were handy (although I wish we could cook there!). Overall a lovely experience, I'd come back again happily (hopefully when the restaurant is operating again as I see it has great reviews but it was closed when we were there).

The only thing I didn't love about the chalet was how loud it was when the people upstairs were walking. Obviously because of the wooden structure it makes more noise, but it was very very loud. I came back to the chalet for my toddlers nap time and it was cut very short because she woke up from the noise of the cleaners being upstairs (and she normally sleeps like a brick). I understand this is difficult to do anything about.

Location!!! Exceptional views from balcony. We stayed in Eiger room. Property is about 10 min drive from Grindelwald village. We took dog with us and there is plenty paths near cottage to go for a stroll. Great large balcony with stunning views. Property is immaculate.

Inside dinning table is squeezed into tight corner so not pleasant to sit down and have a meal. Outside balcony is perfect for eating if it’s not raining. Not enough lighting in the room upstairs, coffee making space is in total darkness so is the inside dinning area. No aircon!!!!!!! Which is a problem during hot summer days.

First, a great location. Can overlook Grindelwald from a higher viewpoint. At the same time, just 10 mins from the main town by car. Surrounded by beautiful Grindelwald mountains. Giving a very Grindelwald-like experience. Second, cozy house and great facilities. A wooden house gives great comfort and coziness, but facilities are modernized. Third, amazingly kind host. He runs a restaurant in the first floor. I mistakenly bought a pork steak wrongly knowing that I could cook in the room. Knowing that I can’t cook, I wanted to give the pork steak to the host because I had to throw it away otherwise. However, he made wonderful pork steak dish for me and brought it to my room, which made my dinner perfect. Will definitely revisit this place when I revisit Grindelwald.

Nothing.

The breakfast was very fresh and natural. They had an outdoor cat named Felix who was very friendly and spent time in my room at my invitation which was awesome since i was traveling alone. He seemed to like to soak up the heat and some pets. The Gasthof is right on the bus route that takes you to the main gondala for skiing as well as to the main street of Grindelwald and too the main train station making arrival and departure very easy. The bus stop is steps from the hotel. The owner of the hotel and his wife were very friendly. When he saw me waiting for the bus to town he offered me a car ride which was super awesome. On the way he made a recommendation about where to eat which i took him up on. It was perfect.

The property was excellent! The owners went above and beyond with their service and hospitality. The breakfast both the days was delicious. The rooms were cozy and super clean. The amenities were top notch and everyday we looked forward to getting back and into bed after a hot shower. Beautiful place!

This time of the year (last week of Nov) it unfortunately gets no direct sunlight making it rather far from all hiking activities and all life. There were no restaurants close by and we had to leave town early to take the last bus back to the bnb. But access to the beautiful night-sky makes it worth coming back early. :)

Very good location. Clean room and nice stuff. Awsome mountain and town view from the room window. There is a private patio right outside the room entrance, loved it!We drove there so it’s quite convenient, easy to park as well.

Unfortunately no breakfast were served during our stay. Stuff said that breakfast will start to be serving in June.

Very clean! The host comes in every day to clean the whole place! Friendly host! It was my husband's birthday when we stayed there and they gave us a free cake! Delicious and generous portion for breakfast! Bed and pillows were super comfortable. The shower was good. Water pressure was strong and had a good temperature. We traveled with our baby. We didn't even have to request, the host provided us with high chair and crib. We would definitely come back. Thank you!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this amazing place and I cannot express enough how wonderful my experience was from the moment I arrived. The highlight of my stay, however, was the breathtaking views. Waking up to the sight of the sun rising over the mountains was a truly magical experience. The panoramic vistas from the balcony were simply mesmerizing. I spent hours just sitting there, taking in the beauty of nature and feeling a sense of tranquility that is hard to find elsewhere. this place was nothing short of excellent. The cleanliness, comfort, unbeatable service, delicious breakfast, and breathtaking views all contributed to a truly memorable stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a dreamy getaway with unparalleled hospitality.

I could not complain about anything about this place.

While we were a little surprised how far away from the rail station (Bahnoff) was the accommodation, once we got some understanding of the bus routes and timetables everything became easier. The day we arrived it cost us €40 to get a taxi to the accommodation - but once we got our gasthaus pass we could use the buses for free. The manager of the property was very helpful with all aspects of our stay- and the view and surroundings were .’to die for.’

Flies.
