Beautiful property. Our balcony view of the lake was stunning. We had Prosecco and chocolate waiting in our room for our anniversary 💕

We stayed early May and it was hot. We wanted to use the AC and were told we were not allowed to which made our room a bit uncomfortable. We slept with the fan and balcony door open. Fortunately it wasn’t loud. The rooms and hallways are a bit dated. For a five star hotel, I would think they would update them. The grounds and pool are beautiful though. Also, we went to Lake Como after and comparing the two you get way more bang for your buck in Lugano so that is a huge plus! They are a bit different but for the price Lugano really offers very similar activities, food and landscapes.

Stunning views, great serviced private lido, great location, great staff, good food, great cocktails. Very dog friendly. It is always nice to return to villa castagnola. The lovely mediterranean garden and most of all everyone working at this hotel is extremely friendly and helpful making the stay exceptional. Can recommend enjoying a room service meal watching the sunset from the balcony.

Note this is just feedback on improvement opportunities: Breakfast choices limited (choice of fresh fruits and cold cuts) coffee quality at breakfast for a five star hotel could be better.. No discussion needed to get more than 1 towel at the lido especially given the fact the towels being too small to cover the sunbed.. I acknowledge though the effort on sustainability - just get bigger ones the

The hotel is relatively small with a wonderful garden in front of it which looks quite spectacular and provides distance from the street. It’s extremely clean with wonderful decor. True paradise with a beautiful view from the room.

The food quality is quite average for a 5 star hotel. The breakfast choice is vast but croissants and cakes rather dry. The rest is really nothing special. The restaurant Rucola has a limited menu and is the only place open during the day. Expensive and very average. If you’re vegetarian - good luck!

The suite was absolutely outstanding—meticulously decorated and spacious. Room service was impressively quick, especially considering the size of the hotel. The view from our room was breathtaking, like something out of a dream, and the room service food was delicious.

However, there were a couple of drawbacks. We were never informed of the daily parking fees and only found out upon check-out. Additionally, I was surprised to learn that eggs were not included in the breakfast and were charged separately each day. Despite these issues, we had an overall pleasant stay.

Excellent location mear to the bus station where the bus took is to the city center for free (voucher were given to us ny the hotel), very welcoming staff. The garden was really beautiful and the view were also beautiful

Superb view of the lake and hotel gardens; sitting on the balcony at any time of day was just sublime. Super friendly and helpful staff. Loved that they parked the car for me and helped me unload my mum's wheelchair, etc. Loved that with the suite there were 2 bathrooms; it made things very convenient for my mum and I.

Some decor in the suite was a bit scuffed up/marked. Charging for additional coffee capsules and tea bags I found extremely tight. The suite price (substantial!) only came with 4 capsules and 3 teabags and if you needed more for another day, then you had to pay. For me in the price, these should be refilled every day "for free". Seemed very petty to me and must cost more to process!

We absolutely loved everything about our stay: the staff were so friendly and attentive, the views were gorgeous, the room was magnificent, the beds comfortable, and the spa was clean and quiet, with the massages so great and relaxing. We also loved the breakfast spread. It’s a nice stroll into town and the hotel is in a quiet area. Perfect for a getaway and melt away the stress! I definitely want to return and if you have any second thoughts about booking, just do it 😊

The pillows need upgrading. Rooms need an upgrade. For the price per night I expected a better breakfast and pillows.

Fantastic loction - close to the lake, with large private garden and tenis court. Qualified professional staff, extraordinary cuisine (3 in-house restaurants, excellent bar, beach bar,...). Very stylish and elegant rooms and common areas.

Unfortunately the AC was not able to fight against the heat waves. I suggest to consider travelling before or after the hottest summer days. The private beach & bar is a must - unfortunately, there is no accessories to rent (kayak, sup,...) - you can find a rental near the private beach.

The location of the hotel is special. Most rooms, its restaurants and the pool/park area overlook the mountains and Lake Lugano. The service is traditional 5*old school where each guest is greeted with a smile and every staff is studying their client. The cleaning service is outstanding. Lovely food choice in the restaurant.

The spa rooms & the pool are dated but still in good working condition. Carpets everywhere. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful hotel all round with very attentive service.
