During my visit in Zermatt, I stayed at the Alpine Hotel Perren, and this hotel was great all around. There was no air conditioner in the room. I visited towards the later part of June, and overall the temperature in the room was ok, but you may want to open the balcony doors to let the cool air into the room to make it more comfortable to sleep in at night. The complimentary breakfast was terrific. Several options were available for vegans and vegetarians. I especially liked the variety of toppings they had for the oatmeal, cereal, and granola, such as flaxseeds, a variety of nuts and seeds, dried fruit, a mixed berry compote and a separate fruit mix. It was a great start to the day. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside was that there was no iron to iron clothes. If I am back in Zermatt, I will no doubt stay at this hotel again.

Cozy honesty bar (great concept btw) and lounge area with a piano; Spacious single room with a balcony, good views of the mountains; Very friendly staff; excellent breakfast options (cereals, fruits, pastries, coffees, eggs, meat, cheese). Less than 10 mins walk from the train station.

Small elevator; unintuitive/slightly inconvenient soap dispenser design; road works just outside my window during my stay (though gladly they stopped working at around 5pm), but would have appreciated a heads up.

Breakfast was amazing! The best! The spread was wonderful & food was delicious! Location was also very convenient, lovely and hotel offered shuttle service to the nearest train station. The room was spacious, a lot of storage space and we had an excellent view of the surroundings! Very clean. The service of staff was excellent. I fell sick one night, & the hotel team offered to lend us a kettle so that I could have some warm water. Very thankful! I recovered well.

Hotel Perren went above and beyond with service. The staff were very helpful when one of our party needed medical attention. Even before this, the Reception staff were very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble! Zermatt is not a budget place especially with AUD, but we were happy with our stay at Hotel Perren. The hotel is alpine style and our room was comfortable, and clean, with A/C, and balcony to sit and watch the mountains and town. We loved the buffet breakfast.

The only thing was the low ceilings in the bathroom. Two of our family are tall and kept hitting their heads! Otherwise it was perfect.

A lovely, spotless hotel only about 8 minutes walking distance from the Zermatt and Gornergrat Railway stations. The receptionists (Chantal, Ines and Nazaret) were so genuinely warm, welcoming, courteous and attentive. They were incredibly helpful, sharing a range of tips and recommendations, including restaurant specials (cordon bleu). The room had a cute balcony to take in the fresh alpine air. The view of the Matterhorn from the street along the canal was stunning. The rate for this property for a solo guest was also great value, especially given the high cost of lodging in Zermatt in high season. I would happily return to the Alpine Perren Hotel in the future.

Location:just 3 min walk from Zermatt train station. Luggage delivered to your room after check in and to the lobby before checkout which is important as there is a staircase before reaching the elevator. Great clear view of the Matterhorn at the balcony.

Breakfast average with few food options. At one point in one morning, the already limited choice of food had run out and there was no sign of replenishment. It was only 9:30am, far from the closing time at 10am.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Nothing was any trouble. Room was clean and comfortable. Location close to station, shops and restaurants etc. Breakfast choices looked good. We had to leave early and staff kindly provided a packed meal for us to take, which was very helpful . We were also able to get an orange juice and coffee in the breakfast restaurant before we left. Room gave partial view of the amazing scenery but difficult to get full view anywhere in such a good location due to the proximity of other hotels. Would definitely recommend this hotel and the excellent staff.

There was nothing not to like.

Superb location 5min walk from the train station. The staff was very friendly, we came before the check-in time and were able to drop off our bags and use the changing rooms. The room was clean and quiet, the only thing that would've made it better is having a kettle and a mini fridge in the room. The hotel has spa facilities, with sauna, hammam, aromatherapy space and a relaxation room, free of charge for the hotel guests. It was a lovely way to relax and unwind after all day in the mountains, the facilities were clean and not crowded, we were provided with free bathrobes at the reception. The breakfast was wonderful, a great spread of hot and cold breakfast foods, as well as a wide selection of teas, nice coffee, and all this with a beautiful view of the mountains through the cafe windows.

No kettle and mini fridge in the room.

The breakast selection was very good but it became repetitious after 5 days. However that is not a negative for most guests staying for shorter periods. We liked the option to forego room service unless urgently needed. The symbolic reward was very nice hotel gesture.

Perhaps an umbrella or possible shade possibility for the hotel balcony but we were usually off on excursions during the day so this is only our personal preference.

To be honest, this hotel is great!! There are so many choice at Breakfast. No complain. View is great. Location is little off from center so Quiet but it takes 3-5 mins to center by walking. People are super duper friendly. This is highly recommend. during summer in August you can see Cheese making in traditional way from A-Z. Also you can taste while lady is making cheese. Husband and wife from somewhere in Alpes and show us how to make cheese. You can't miss this. Please ask hotel and make book during this event. I met hotel Manager Carol. She was so nice and explained me. I do highly recommend this hotel !!!
