This hotel is absolutely beautiful and historic! Upon checking in, we were upgraded to a suite to celebrate our three-year marriage anniversary. The entire weekend, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and celebrated. The breakfast is also amazing! I cannot get over how good the muesli is. Ever since we got home from Zermatt, I've been trying to recreate it.

Wouldn't change anything!

Monte Rosa Is an exceptional hotel. Deborah and other staff members go out of their way to help guests. During the registration process Deborah and others provided valuable information about Zermatt. The staff working the breakfasts were extremely helpful and the food was terrific. While The property is older, the facilities have been tastefully updated.

Not a thing. Everything was terrific. Our room was excellent. The staff in all areas went out of their way to be helpful and professional.

The hotel location in the centre, staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was great although it was few types of food. Transportation from the train station to the hotel and vice versa free and you just need to call the hotel. Thanks to 5he staff especially Mr George.

No air conditioning in the hotel 😒 and the disaster when we open the windows, people staying at the bar are shouting most of the night. This bad issue didn't let us have comfortable sleep during our stay. Please resolve this major issue if you want your customers come back and write an excellent review.

Hands down we had the best stay ever!!! When we arrived our room wasn’t ready yet so we returned an hour later and we were greeted by George at the front desk who went above and beyond for us!! He guided us on how to get up to see the Matterhorn. The hotel has a sister property that has a pool and fabulous amenities. George told us all about that opportunity and we took advantage of it after going on the train. We had a drink in the bar before heading to dinner. George told us where we should eat and he was spot on with his recommendation!!! We also wanted to catch some late night live music and he told us where to go. Hands down he was phenomenal!! We will definitely be coming back with our daughter and staying here!!! So so glad we got to experience this hotel. The rooms were awesome too and the breakfast was so so good.

I’m aware of this hotel from I first visited Zermatt in 2002, I’ve always wanted to stay there as it is a beautiful and traditional hotel, historic and where Edward Whymper stayed in 1865.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike

Wow! Where do we start? The staff were over the top in their help, their customer service, and their kindness. It was like coming back to family every time we returned from an outing. They would always ask us how we were and what we ended up doing. The food was phenomenal and the hotel itself was exquisite. Such a special place. It will always be our home away from home if we are lucky enough to visit Zermatt again. And we know the staff will welcome us back and ask how we have been. Breathtakingly beautiful property!

The hotel is very well positioned in Zermatt and it has a charming amtosphere. I stayed with my dog and in our room we found two bowls, treats and a furry dog mat. For any question / doubt the staff is very kind and will help you for anything. About dogs, in case they can also arrange a dog sitter.

Despite the dog is allowed to stay, is not permitted to go in the restaurant with him but thanks to the kind and helpful staff we had breakfast in our room. Other than that, some rooms are a bit darky, as probably other hotels in Zermatt due to the high volume of hotels built next to each other, if you like to have natural light in the room make sure to have one facing the square in front of the hotel.

A great hotel, in the middle of town. Old world luxury and charm, with amazing rooms and really great service. Its hard to believe this hotel is significantly cheaper that their sister hotel, when it seems so much nicer!

Very nice older hotel in amazing town. The staff were so kind and everything was very charming. The hotel is older but very nice sized rooms. The location is great. Just a very nice and cozy place to be. It would have had a view of the Matterhorn but it was raining and cloudy. City was so neat. We ate at the hotel and the food was great!

Very friendly and helpful reception staff. There was no kettle in the room but when I asked for hot water, they provided a kettle for me. The location is in the centre of town but still fairly quiet. Its only a short walk from the station. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Lovely big bath in the bathroom of the upgraded room. Decent breakfast.

I was a bit disappointed with the spa of the sister hotel. Reception staff not very helpful. Sauna and steam room didnt seem to be available. The pool and jacuzzis were great though.
