The Hotel Alex is in the centre of Zermatt, very conveniently next to the railway station. Public areas are quirky and comfortable with some lovely seating areas. Every day the restaurant impresses with an exquisite, delicious and varied menu. Staff in all areas are absolutely delightful, especially in the restaurant and bar.

The Alex needs an urgent design make over, bedrooms, corridors, lifts, carpets, fixtures and fittings are old fashioned and tired.

Breakfast was very good - both in terms of the spread as well as freshness. The hot counter offered custom-made eggs and other freshly made items along with a wide selection of cold cuts and bakery products. A pot of good coffee along with the spread made the breakfast excellent. The staff at the breakfast area was consistently wonderful. So was staff across the hotel. The decor and ambiance of the hotel were consistent with it's high rating and with the description on the website. Look forward to visiting again.

We loved our stay at Hotel Alex during our ski vacation. The location is excellent. The staff is very nice and helpful. The sauna and pool facilities were amazing after a day of skiing. The place felt very authentic Swiss and had a lot of charm. I would def return again.

My room was a super cute small double room. The bathroom was nice (not super clean) with a Jacuzzi bathtub but I haven't used it. The room was very quiet with Mountain View, just to the wrong side ;-). Realised in the morning that you can see the Matterhorn from the terrace - other side from my room view. Breakfast was very nice - everyone can find something. Location is nearby the station.

I found some hairs in the bathroom but I haven't mentioned it at the reception. And for me the bed was too soft.

It was a wonderful time at Hotel Alex Zermatt. we had the pleasure to spend a weekend for our couple birthday. Not only hotel was incredible with a real « soul », special places to welcome you and many activities (huge swimming pool, sauna, hammam, tennis, squash, cigar lounge), great cocktails, the luxurious suite is beautiful and with a view on the Matterhorn… but the staff and the owner are lovely and dedicated to make you enjoy your stay! Fully recommend it and we’ll definitely come back to this place!

The staff were amazing. They welcomed me and my dog without a problem, he even had a special bed prepared in the room. They were also very flexible on checkout. The rooms were perfectly clean, the bed and pillows comfortable, there was everything you could possibly need in terms of bathroom essentials, and we had plenty of choices for breakfast. The location is also right next to the train station which is very convenient.

Very cozy room and great bed. The SPA was the reason for our booking and we were not disappointed. They have a beautiful pool, with jaccuzzi, sauna... The short distance from the train station (1min litterally) is adding to the convenience of the place. The resturant is excellent, and the staff was very kind.

Hotel Alex is a wonderful hotel. The bar and lounge has to be one of the best bars I’ve been in, great staff, full of uniqueness and character, understated luxury with bags of personality. There is a real authenticity and sense of provenance and I hope I have the opportunity to return

Hotel has a very unique style of classic and Zermatt tradition. I was overwhelmed by every details especially at the bar. Room is spacious and very good toiletries Molton Brown. Breakfast was very good.
