We stayed as a family group of adults. Wonderful stay from start to end. The staff are brilliant - so friendly, kind and willing to help. We had an excursion starting at 5am and would have missed breakfast, so the staff gave us a wonderful breakfast box each so that we wouldn’t miss out. The hotel breakfast the next day was brilliant and there was a very good variety of food with something for everyone. Their egg options are made to order. The hotel grounds are very picturesque and maintained very well. Pool was quiet and a lovely temperature. Our room was spacious and so was the bathroom. Beds were comfortable and I liked the pillows. We could not hear any outside noise from our room. I was very impressed with the hotel. Great location on a quiet road within the old town. Very well signposted and easy to find. We were only about a 2 minute walk from some lovely shops and cafes. The hotel is also very close to some of the key sites in Chiang Mai.

Staff was great! Too many people to name, but front desk Rainny was very helpful in making reservations for restaurants and tours. Paid great attention and made sure all of our expectations were met. The restaurant and bar staff was terrific, very attentive and friendly. The mid day cooking demonstrations were fun. Monika and Pim were great! Smaller pool and area, but very quaint/intimate and served as a great respite when not doing tours and sightseeing. Pretty grounds and clean room

Gym equipment could have been better maintained. The cable actually broke on me.

Nice boutique hotel, plenty of hot water, huge bathroom, comfortable beds. There was plenty of AC that got quite cold, they provided robes and slippers. Three doors down is a laundry service but the hotel was able to drop it off for us and pick it up which was a nice perk. For less than five dollars we were able to get our clothing washed, folded, and returned to us. It was ฿100 per kilogram. Right next-door is an Expat bar and restaurant called Annie's. We were able to walk to most places but not to the night bazaar or the Saturday walking market. However, the songtaws were easy to use.

The water temperature was quite variable in the shower and would get cold and hot. Need hooks to hang clothing and towels!

Location, friendly staff, no street noise, cleanliness Pim, Earth, Yogurt, Monika, actually all staff went above and beyond. Was able to check in a boot early and that was a godsend after a long travel day. Booked a tour through the front desk and it was spectacular. Breakfast was awesome with cooked to order items and they even brewed me a decaf coffee. Very close to the street market and night food market. Cooking class a couple times a week was delicious. The only negative was the pillows. They were like sleeping on a rock. The bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel. Great food. Great people. Great location.

Really easy to get about the old town. Pool was small but nice to relax after a day sightseeing Good breakfast and early. Well equipped mini bar for soft drinks and snacks.

Giving a price for drinks that’s then different even they add tax but I think a lot of hotels do this. They knew I was arriving early and clearly some rooms were ready for early check in but I could see my empty room left as the last to be prepared as I sat by the pool. Feels like poor planning. Room service is available but brought in from a sister hotel so quite lengthy

Beautiful boutique resort. Nice staff. Breakfast was standard Thailand fare so please ignore any complaints about breakfast in the reviews. Bathroom and beds were huge! Drop off your laundry on arrival and they will have it washed at the laundromat 2 doors down. Location was very quiet, water pressure was great.

Be aware that this is NOT a non-smoking resort. Our neighbors sat on their balcony and smoked and we could smell in in our room. Also - you need mosquito spray ANY time you are sitting outside at this resort (yes -even in the middle of the day). Shower temp would not stay constant and we nearly got burned a couple times

We stayed in a suite for 8 nights. Extremely spacious and comfortable once they’d put a pillow top on the rather firm mattress. There were a few problems with the jacuzzi tub which were handled promptly except for the jets shooting out black debris which was never resolved. Otherwise the service was excellent all round, especially in the restaurant for breakfast - big shoutout to Noppawee and Atthanee. The location is central and quiet. Lovely gardens and pool. A place we’d return to. Thanks.

Bathroom floor didn’t appear to get washed. A bit sticky after a week.

I have stayed at the Thai Akara many times and each time find it charming, comfortable and perfect for a group in Chiang Mai. Rooms are spacious and clean, the pool is lovely (although does overflow a bit if you are in the lounge chairs right next to the edge), the staff always helpful and the breakfast delicious. The breakfast area can get a bit overcrowded when everyone is leaving for tours at the same time, so plan accordingly. Overall, its a great place to stay in the heart of the Old City.

Nothing I can think of

Breakfast buffet was a nice touch... but what made it special was the staff. They ALL went above and beyond that which you would normally expect. But of special note was the woman named Monica? (Tang Mo) who was incredibly accomodating, delightful and fun! She had us all laughing and brought a special touch to the entire stay!

I DID NOT appreciate the fact that ANYTHING that included pork was FORBIDDEN! The Club Sandwich I ordered was completely unappetizing. Breakfast had no bacon to go with the eggs. I could continue, but I won't bother. THAT fact alone will keep me from making it a "go-to" place to stay. (Thai pork is FANTASTIC) That hotel rule was very annoying and disappointing.

I had the most wonderful stay at this hotel. It is a gorgeous little haven in the heart of old Chiang Mai. My room was very comfortable, all possible amenities included. The little room snacks, personalised welcome message and drink were a lovely touch. The courtyard activities and little snacks the staff made were lovely! The staff were all so attentive and patient. Location is great. A really great hotel.

My only negative was the temperamental shower temperature. It would flip between too hot or too cold at times
