After our stay at Doruk Palas, I don't think I can ever stay in another hotel in Istanbul. Location is great - in Pera, just south of Galata tower, which makes it ideal if you like to walk (~30 mins to the main attractions like Agia Sofia, Blue Mosque, etc.). You also have the option of taking public transport - ask the guys at the hotel and they will easily hook you up with whatever you need. Pera is also a neighborhood with plenty of shops and restaurants, just a short walk from the hotel. Breakfast was great, and the coffee is of a high standard (as it should be, in Türkiye). Tip: you don't need to limit yourself to whatever is at the buffet - the staff are always happy to make you eggs, in any form you want. But let's get to the most important part: (Mr.) Osman, the manager, was the highlight of our entire trip. If you're lucky, he will follow you into the elevator and walk you to your room. If you're even luckier, he will stay for a while and take a nap (he's super busy, and can always use some rest). Osman is a cat, btw. I cannot stress enough how amazing the owner(s) and staff of this hotel are. We got to know everyone very well in just a few days, and had a blast talking to them, finding out more about the city, but also about them on a personal level. The ambience they've created in the hotel is one of warmth and a feeling like you belong there, like you're part of a family- so much so, that we even met other hotel guests and even ended up hanging out with them in the city to do tourist stuff! Can't wait to be back to Istanbul and to see Osman again!

We stayed at the Doruk Palas for 5 days/4 nights the experience was just great. Location - 10/10 we basically walked to the old city and the night life in Beyoğlu. Metro & ferry stations were in walking distance whenever required. Food - 10/10 wholesome, fresh and very delicious. For all the days, we had breakfast and went out walking to explore the places of interest and never had to stop for lunch, a perfect way to end your day at one of the many highly rated restaurants. Comfort - 10/10 Functional, clean and comfortable, high levels of cleanliness Staff - 10/10 Service with a smile!! Everyone here is so warm, helpful with anything you may ask - from a welcoming chat to any logistical questions to recommendations on restaurants or things to do. Just a warm human touch to the whole experience that we feel that we now have friends in a foreign country.

Our parents and our little family had a very nice stay at Doruk Palas Hotel. There was a very friendly contact with the people in the hotel, both on arrival as during our stay with advice and during cosy breakfasts. The hotel is situated within walking distance from the beautiful old town and close to the shopping street in the new part of Istanbul. If you prefer a small, well situated, ultra clean, cosy and above all warm and friendly hotel rather than a giant impersonal building, look no further. On top of that, we appreciated the fine humour with which our teenage daughters too felt very welcome.

A lovely stay, the staff were so friendly, Ahmet and Ghofran both exceptional, I felt very much in good hands and looked after. Wonderful breakfast and homely feel, Osman the cat is a very special part of the place. If you can, take a room with a sea view because at night time it is very special. The location is perfect, just 5 minutes the metro Sishane to get to IST airport but you can also walk everywhere from the hotel, into the old city, to Karakoy for ferries and another metro line and the area around the hotel is buzzing at night, but also nice a quiet as it is down a side street. I will definitely stay again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it without a doubt! The staff were incredibly polite, always willing to help, and even had a great sense of humour. Their hospitality truly stood out. The rooms were spotlessly clean and offered stunning views of the city from the windows (see photo). The hotel’s location was perfect as well - conveniently close to the metro station and other tourist attractions. We originally booked for three days but enjoyed our time so much that we extended our stay for another three days. This hotel truly exceeded our expectations in every way!

Doruk Palas is a family-owned cosy hotel, tailored for an unforgettable tourist experience. It’s located in a safe neighbourhood in the heart of the city, almost at the doorstep of the Galata tower, and very close to public transport (Metro, Tram, Boat, Bus). Very convenient for exploring the sights of the City. From the first moment you enter Doruk Palas, you experience the warm Turkish hospitality, you have some Turkish tea, and you meet Osman, the lovely cat security-guard of the place. The owner, Ahmet, and the staff are very kind and helpful, they make you feel like home! Somebody is at the reception 24/7! We stayed in a room of 2, with all the amenities and a great view to the Golden Horn and the Skyline of Istanbul. We couldn’t believe that the rooms were exactly as shown in the pictures (see pics below to verify). Of course, everything was very clean! The Turkish breakfast, available until 10h30 (good if you’re a bit sleepy) was a good and tasty way to start the day. We liked a lot the variety of traditional savory spreads! From all aspects, staying at Doruk Palas was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had and I’m glad that for my future trips to Istanbul, I won’t need to search the entire internet for a place to stay, I know exactly where to go! It was a pleasant stay; the hotel is very clean, and the room was spacious enough for two people. Breakfast was simple, varied, and delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. It was a 5 minute walk to Galata Tower and the traditional market area, and 20 minutes by tram to Sultan Ahmed and Hagia Sophia. I am very happy that the street where the hotel is located was quiet and calm. I heard and sensed how difficult it is to find this in Istanbul. The call to prayer in the morning is everywhere, so it’s by default (as some may not find it quiet), but the voice was kind of nice to hear in the morning.

We absolutely loved our stay in DORUK PALAS. It's clean, comfortable, with amazingly attentive staff and super friendly cats. We were upgraded to a room with a view, which we can't thank enough for. Turkish breakfast they serve is a perfect start of the day and Cay is offered any time of the day, which was our favourite bit in the evening, after long walks in Istanbul. Rooms are on a smaller size but the lobby is large, cosy and welcoming, with the cats: Mr. Osman and Princess, keeping you company.

Calls to prayer from nearby mosques are a bit loud but that's part of Istanbul experience.

We booked as we wanted a good value hotel near the centre of town - Doruk Palas did not disappoint. Situated on a quiet street, approx. a 2-3 minute walk from Galata Tower and all of thr surrounding cafes, restaurants, shops and bars, we found this to be a great spot in the centre of a few different parts of Istanbul: the old town, the modern art musem and surrounding area, and Santasi and Besiktas. Really great location to explore all parts of the city! The streets felt very safe and the hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful, especially Ahmed and Mohammed - thank you for a great stay! And of course, Princess and Mr Ousman (the hotel cats) are great fun too. Highly recommend!
