Fantastic location- right on the light rail so easy access to the city and darling harbour ICC. Spacious rooms

Clearly can see they were very under staffed- the first night attempted to call for extra towels and it took over 30 mins to get someone on the phone. The room was serviced each day- however a made bed and change of towels was it. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned- hair was still on the floor and toilet not scrubbed- the dust on the lights on the bathroom walls were extremely dirty. Shame they don’t have time to clean. Breakfast should be made more affordable for in-house guests- $55 pp is ridiculous

The room was absolutely exceptional! Stunning view (we had a harbour view room). Exceptionally clean. Beautifully furnished (luxurious). Coffee Machine. Absolutely dreamy & comfortable beds & pillows! We were upgraded to a one-bedroom suite! It was magnificent! It had a lovely lounge area, dining table (for four), even a guest's powder room! The location is fantastic. A short 1.4km walk over Darling Harbour bridge to the Queen Victoria Building shopping centre. Loads to do in the area at Darling Harbour! We chose to dine at the Italian restaurant on-site, Cucina Porta - fabulous service, great food! And, bonus was using the new tunnel from the airport, our trip from the airport to the hotel took less than 15 minutes! The greeting on arrival was very attentive. The concierge helped guide us to check-in, carried our bags, and escorted us to our room. He also showed us how to use all the special features in the room (automatic blinds, block out blinds), TV's, Coffee Machine & much more! Amazing experience! Great value for money. We will definitely be visiting Star Hotel in Sydney again!

There was nothing we did not like!

The staff were so friendly they saw it was my birthday night away and upgraded my room to such a lovely setting overlooking the Harbour and at night the lights of the city. Loved the location. The room was magnificent. The bed was just so comfy and even though I only had the night there and to see the show it was the best experience I’ve had for a long time. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend anybody thinking of staying there will have a guaranteed wonderful experience. The food was delicious with plenty of options and the buffet breakfast was a hit with everyone. People there were friendly and noticeably having a great time. The were absolutely amazing and everyone I spoke to went out of there way to help me with anything at all. 10 out of 10! Go you’ll have a wonderful time and The Lyric theatre is there if you’d like to see a show.

I can’t really think of anything that I didn’t like. To me it was perfection 😊.

Room location bathroom and bed. Breakfast at Harvest was really good. Room exceptionally clean!

room requires maintenance 1505 : red stains through out dining/living room very noticeable and lots of them. Second toilet gets stuck flushing, down light in bedroom square one needs plaster repairs, couch velvet is not very comfy (outlived its use by date), both TV's lose picture (not volume) and the one in the lounge area actually turns itself off when ever it feels like it. Had a meal in casino in food court area - not cooked through properly dumpling soup. did not eat half of it.

The room was immaculate and we were very impressed with the decor. Spotlessly clean. We stayed here as we were seeing Hamilton at the Lyric Theatre and it was so convenient. Dinner and breakfast were in the same location so we didn't need to leave the building which was great. I would definitely stay here again if I was seeing another show at the Theatre. The light rail was just downstairs and it was so easy to get back to Central Station to catch the train home. A great stress free experience.

The amount of restaurants and facilities onsite is fantastic. They also have a tram stop underneath that takes you to Darling Harbour, Haymarket or Central. The property is well staffed and clean. The room was spectacular and after a mix up with our room we were offered an upgrade. David the concierge was fantastic. He helped us check inC shows us our room and later on helped us order an Uber after we had trouble finding the pick up point.

It can be a bit of a rabbit warren trying to move around but once you work out that you can cut through the casino it is much easier.

There was enough space in the room. The staff who took my bag from the bus and also while I was waiting for pickup were very polite and helpful. Staff generally were lovely and welcoming during my stay. My request for a possible early check in due to travelling a fair distance was met with no issues - very appreciative of that. Location for Lyric theatre could not be better. Bed sooo comfy.

Location the room - close to lifts and people were very noisy at night otherwise all good

From the moment we arrived, the valet parking attendants were helpful and efficient. Our first impression was quick and seamless service! The staff took great care of our bags and directed us to check-in, where we were warmly welcomed by Vivian. Her beautiful smile and exceptional customer service made us feel right at home! It is great for us as we like gambling

The hotel is not run like an international hotel. You can’t have eggs and bacon after 11. You have to negotiate to get a Bloody Mary served at breakfast. They won’t serve more than two bottles of wine to your room. It is like a Nanny hotel where you are being watched and managed - I understand the fact that it is a gambling hotel but even the gambling is a shamoozle- go to Monte Carlo and see how it is done. Your staff need to be sent to a professional hotel and see what real customer service is all about.

We stayed in room 1101. A very large room with a large bed and lounge to spread on and look at the city lights. Had a very large TV with normal TV and Fox TV channels, I tried to connect my phone to watch Netflix but was not able to do so. A small Fridge and a pod coffee maker + a kettle for tea and instant coffee that was provided. Also had a large cupboard with a safe, Ironing board and iron. The bathroom was great, very large with a mirror and movable shaving/makeup mirror. The water temperature and strength were very nice. We did not make use of the Gym, but being part of the STAR perimeter, we did use two of the restaurants plus the Harvest restaurant for breakfast (which we found all to be of very good quality and of excellent service). We also walked to the Pyrmont ferry stop and took a ferry ride to Balmain, in essence, once we parked the car, we had no need for it until our departure. We now view The Star Grand Hotel as being very central and will stay again when in the city, perhaps they can improve the mattress situation a bit(in fairness, we did not tell them at the time so they did not have an opportunity to rectify if it was possible). Finally, from our arrival to our departure, the hotel service from all staff was very professional and they were genuine in their desire to make our stay memorable. Thank you, team.

The bed was way too soft, my wife felt it was just ok, but I woke up with a sore back. I actually sunk into the mattress. Being such a large hotel, this may have been the only one non-supportive mattress, so I can't judge all the beds, only the one in room 1101.
