The room was a very good size and liked the walk in shower with seating area and handrail. Very thoughtful for Senior guests. Breakfast very good.

What was really disappointing was with booking.com. I booked a twin room on-line with booking-com only to find on arrival at the hotel that just a standard room was put through to the hotel from Booking-com and NOT a twin room as I particular made a point of stating on their website!! The hotel was fully booked the first night, but they made an effort to get a twin room for our final night. I was told that this is something that booking.com do, just specify a standard room and I was shown this by the staff what they received from booking.com. I am therefore very unlikely to use booking.com for hotel bookings if this is their standard procedure, as it was very upsetting to share a double bed, not even a king-size bed to share!!

The staff are super friendly and helpful - I loved Sian and Sofia ( who was on night duty) - all the staff were thoughtful and helpful and made me feel seen and welcome. I liked the diversity of the staff and patrons. I was able to loan an international power adapter and they will allow you to use the restaurant area for your own meals, if you'd rather not eat food in your room. I was given a goodie back with candy and water and a lovely room on the second floor - it was clean and attractive, the bed was great and the shower strong. As part of the IHG group they meet the standards required to make the stay worthwhile. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

They will impose a parking fee of 100 pounds if you dont register visitors vehicles, I think that needs to be explained more clearly at reception that this goes for ALL cars. We had to call to get them to cancel the fine. Just be mindful of the parking rules. Otherwise a great place to relax and unwind, lovely view from the window and peaceful and quiet. Loved being here.

The tiles at the entrance are in need of immediate repair to prevent trips and falls. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful with guests though when we checked in, a longer-term member of staff was talking unkindly to what seemed to be a member of staff in training. She was belittled about having been shown something previously and being unable to complete the task unaided and it wasn't nice. The bed was comfy. The pillows were awful. The hotel was clean. The carpet was vacuumed but could do with a shampoo. The shower was excellent. The breakfast was fantastic. The location was ideal for restaurants, Villa park & other attractions but was out of the way enough to be quiet.

Plenty, good choice at breakfast

The evening meal menu was not good if you couldn’t eat fried food and was not very hot. Had fish and chips. Fish was appeared to be prepared and was tasted as if it was very dry and uninteresting, mushy peas were cold mentioned it to the waitress when she cleared the table she didn’t make any useful comment. Al. Told found the food and menu not suitable for our diets. Breakfast was not hot enough. The two USB sockets either side of the bed in room 301 were broken and unusable. Was rushing to leave and reception was busy so it wasn’t mentioned.

Aaron on reception from the moment we got there was polite and very friendly and welcoming, the room was extremely spacious and we all loved the little note in the bathroom stating if you had forgotten something not a problem you had spares and to just notify you if we needed anything. When we went down to breakfast we loved how hot the food was but also how clean the area was, being a serve your own we was aware there would be abit of untidiness due to this fact and there wasn't any at all. All the staff in the morning were polite and welcoming, which helped us stay relaxed for our breakfast. As a group of 4 (2 twin rooms) we all loved our experience and can't wait to book a visit again, to which we are already planning for next year.

It was clean and pretty much everything worked well, (except perhaps the TV remote, which was a trivial thing!). The room was quiet (with the windows closed) in a busy traffic area and comfortable, with good hanging for clothes. The shower cubicle was brilliant. And the room very well provided. The staff were very welcoming after a long tiring day, and breakfast was excellent.

The entrance was hard to find at night and not brilliantly sign posted in an area heavy with distracting roadworks. But good old sat nav won through.

The bed was really very comfortable. The cleanliness was superb. The breakfast was very good, with a good coices and varieties of food. We had the pleasure to get dinner and the experience was superb.

Being disbaled I must admit that there was something that could have been improved: the shower seat was too low. and it was quite difficult to stand up after having finished to get showered. On the other hand the emergency cord that was besides the bed was really a bonus, and it's not easy to find hotels that have got it.

A fabulous friendly welcome, from smiley helpful staff. We had a small issue with our room that was dealt with immediately. Really big, clean room. Comfy beds, crisp linen, choice of pillows. Bathroom again, very clean. Big shower cubicle with toiletries provided. Excellent free breakfast. And all this for half the cost of a similar hotel nearby. Excellent location. And although there was a small amount of road noise, it really didn't disturb us at all. Excellent stay, will definitely use again.

Sophia was excellent and always is, to be honest. We are return visitors, and she always goes above and beyond to make us comfortable, whether she is managing breakfast and catering to our dietary requirements or front of house; this time in particular I came alone with my baby. She assisted me to my room, with my bags and set up the heating in my room after a friendly chat at reception. May I add this was after midnight. It was much appreciated and helped me feel at ease first time travelling alone with baby. I chose to stay at this hotel for the familiarity although having business on the other side of town and was not disappointed. I stayed two nights and was offered clean towels etc in the morning. The bed was comfortable, showers hot and spacious, breakfast plentiful, hot and varied, parking is free, good/quick access to motorways. I would recommend and stay again. A pool would have been awesome in this hotel. Probably an unreasonable request 😅 Nothing to not like for me.

It was all good apart from the smell in the room, the toilet could have been cleaner, there were hairs in the shower, the shower gel and soap sprouts were not clean. The Cistern has dirt marks on them. The pillow and the quilt could have less stain. The breakfast was okay, but the staff member looked tired, the breakfast was good though.

There were few things wrong in the room, i wasnt expecting a dirty pillow, shower room and cistern from a high profile business like holiday inn. And I do stay alot in the brand hotels and local hotel, the cleanliness was a questionable, and I didd share this when i drop the keys of the room.
