The hotel location is really lovely, overlooking the canal lock, and just a short walk to the beach. The room was cosy and warm and comfortable, and the only noise was from the local birdlife (plenty of it, but no annoying seagulls thankfully) and the church bells. It was very peaceful Breakfast was extremely good with loads of choice, and the restaurant for dinner in the evening was exceptional. The hotel boasts the "warmest welcome in the west" and I wouldn't dispute that for a second. All the staff were friendly, happy and very good at what they do. We've stayed in a few hotels that look really impressive from the outside but then are a bit shabby and with poor service when you're inside. This is definitely not one of them, it's well kept, well maintained and well run.

Nothing that we didn't like, but I think we got lucky with parking as we found a space right outside (and didn't move the car for the whole time we were there). Not sure what the other parking arrangements are but it's probably worth checking with the hotel before arrival.

The food service in the bar on Friday evening was inattentive. We were told it was table service, but actually, no one arrived to take our order, so we went to the bar to order. We were told they were short-staffed, but from our table, we could see 3 staff chatting together in the little room next to the bar, including taking a personal phone call.

The Falcon is a fantastic hotel, in a perfect location. Me and Dad had a lovely Sunday roast there and it was reasonably priced. We stayed four nights, I was comfortable in my room (14) dad had (16) saying it was a bit noisy. There is a few communal places around the hotel to relax in. The staff was always happy and welling to help and nice as well. Breakfast is very good with a wide range of choices and the breakfast room itself is lovely which is a dinning later on. Overall totally value for money and we are returning.

Only thing i could think of is they need a password for the WiFi.

Lovely spacious room, comfortable beds and good linens. Good view from our room overlooking the front. Very good breakfast, both cooked and continental. The staff in the hotel are excellent. We had to have room service on two nights as my mother was not able to go downstairs to the restaurant, and the service for this was excellent and very helpful. Equally the staff at reception and in the restaurant are excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Parking is a little bit of an issue, and at times difficult to find a space. But you can usually get one after a little while. But at least there is some where to park.

There was plenty of choice for cooked breakfast as well as continental. We had dinner of three occasions in the hotel and each time the food was lovely. Our room faced the front overlooking the canal. The room was a decent size and clean. And most of all the staff were all very helpful & friendly.

My husband and i loved our stay at The Falcon and would definitely stay again as the location is so good. The only very small niggle was in our room there were no coat hooks which we needed as on one day we got caught in the rain and had very wet coats and had no where to hang them to dry out. Ended up hanging them on the bedroom door hinge!

Our room was very comfortable, the bed and bedding was also very comfortable. The room was very spacious, with very good facilities. The breakfast provided was perfect with a good choice of cooked food and a buffet of fruit, breads, yogurt, pastries and juice. The staff were friendly and helpful.

It is recommended not to drink the tap water from the bathroom, a couple of bottles of water are provided but a larger supply would be better considering. We did have a family meal booked during our stay with guests, there was a delay and we waited for a 45min for the main course but this could have been communicated more efficiently to us at the time. The food was perfect and there was no shortage of it.

This was the second time me and dad stayed at the fabulous hotel, in rooms 14 and 15. The rooms are comfortable, with quality toiletries used in the bathroom.. The staff is the big part of the hotel, they are very attentive towards the quests and happy. Sunday lunch is lovey, breakfast is lovely with a good choice, the evening meals is a fine experience, love it. Also the cooking and serving pizza in the secret garden was great.

I couldn't get the wifi, but to be honest, i didn't miss it that much

The staff were excellent. Smart and attentive. The breakfast was excellent with a good range of cereals, fresh fruit, compotes, seeds, yoghurts etc and a great selection of other items for continental breakfast eg savoury and sweet muffins, pastries,. The cooked breakfasts were delicious and again a good range of choices, freshly cooked. Delicious bread and a variety of jams, honey etc. Comfortable and spacious dining area with views over to the canal. The bathroom was well appointed and spotlessly clean. Luxurious towels. Fresh bottled water every day was appreciated. Good range of storage for personal belongings. The room was fairly small but sufficient for our stay. Very comfortable bed and cotton bedlinen. The bar is spacious and comfortable and bar food was available. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal in the restaurant. Very tasty, beautifully presented and hot! Get there early if you want your first choice for the fresh fish, but there were several options for fish as well as other things and interesting vegetarian options. Fairly easy to park though there was a charity do there the day we arrived and we seemed to get the last space in the car park! Very handy for electric car charging in neighbouring car park. We loved the updated, tasteful way this historic hotel with its wonky floors had been modernised. Great spaces to sit and read including a large garden and conservatory as well as a "library" snug.

The only improvement I'd like would be the option of a feather pillow as I find these hard pillows uncomfortable.

The room was exceptionally clean, and we had a great view of the garden. The location was perfect. Beautiful walks along the river leading to the beach. The breakfast was really nice, and staff were very polite. They explained how things worked and we were very well looked after.The setting for both dinning room and bar were beautiful. We had a bar meal, which was lovely. Again staff were lovely. The garden was beautiful. Staff on reception were very welcoming.

Although there was a lot of choice of coffee/ tea etc in the room. There didn’t seem to any decaf choices.

Lovely hotel in a great location overlooking the canal in Bude. Ample parking was available across the road from the entrance, but we managed to park out front. Warm Welcome. Nice staff in restaurant and bar, and comfortable, spotlessly clean room. What's not to like. The dinner and breakfast we very good. We would certainly return.

Rather strange person in Falcon Hotel T-Shirt was rather loud in the lobby when we arrived! Couldn't make out who he was, but a bit off-putting. He was gone when we came down for a drink later!
