Comfortable beds. Spacious family room. Good food selection and high quality breakfast. Reception staff and cleaning ladies were very polite and accommodating. The breakfast chef (Gary) was accommodating to special orders for egg and soldiers for my toddler and always greeted my boy with a smile. Lots of green spaces and a play area for my son after his breakfast. Situated next to the canal and a nature reserve for an early morning walk. The pub next door also does a good carvery and main menu items.

The bedroom would really benefit from a mini fridge. Not being able to refridgerate kiddies food/milk is not ideal. I'd also recommend swapping out the irons, which need upgrading.

Breakfast good - but would always like a little more healthy food! The fruit ran out both days , Alpen muesli very processed - liked the granola in a jar - maybe provide the muesli in the same way ? And some plain yoghourt and semi skimmed milk- no idea what the dairy milk was ? Whole organic? and no oat milk

My shower only appeared to run very very hot water on second day. Couldn’t get it to turn down at all - nearly burnt me ! Had to get out ! So had to use towel to wash with using water from the washbasin . It was a bit dodgy on day one but day 2 frightening. Forgot to tell them when checking out.

The room was clean and warm, as we were visiting friends we didn’t have breakfasts on this occasion as friends were catering for us but have stayed at Pastures many times before and enjoyed some excellent breakfasts - the breakfast staff are lovely, as are the wonderful housekeeping staff, looking forward to our next visit to Pastures

No information in the room regarding breakfast times and vacating room times on day of departure, even though we have stayed at Pastures on previous occasions it would have been nice to have been reminded of this by having the information in the room

It was in a beautiful area and it was extremely clean and quite the breakfast was very reasonable too. The bed was extremely comfortable and the power shower was brilliant. The surrounding area was beautiful and peaceful. The hotel was very easy to find with google maps. We had clean towels and complimentary shower gel with plenty of toilet roll and we even had a non slip mat which you wouldn’t normally get. We also had the usual complimentary tea and coffee but we also had a hot chocolate sachet which was lovely. The staff were brilliant and bent over backwards to help and support nothing was to much trouble. Our overall stay was very very nice and comfortable.

There was nothing to dislike

The hotel was very clean and nice, when checked on the following day, we aired our dissppointment to Michelle about our no so Welcoming Check in experince. Michelle was very apologetic, as was another member of staff who at the reception.

We arrived 20mins before our scheduled check in time at 14:00, when I ask the receptionist if we can check 2omins early? I got a long hostile look, then a reply saying " No you're room won't be ready until 14L00, come back then!" I sensed that this person was about to go home, she didn't even ask my name. I looked around the car park which was literally empty as was the hotel, I was taken back by this attitude. When I finally checked in, we were greeted by very polite staff who had just started their shift at 14:00! I rest my case.

Fitzwilliam Suite was huge, and the jacuzzi bath was amazing on day 3 of a 5 day cycle trip. The bed was really comfy and there were two full armchairs and a big telly to relax in the room. The room was cool with plenty of opening windows and a fan. The pub over the road was really convenient for a satisfying evening meal. Staff were friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was good. Great location for us just off the trans pennine trail. Incredible value for money.

Slightly corporate feel to the overall hotel, view over car park

The room was clean, warm and comfortable and the staff were courteous and helpful. Check in was very clear and straightforward. Parking was easy and the walk along the canal was pleasant to do before we left.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing. I had asked for a vegan breakfast when booking. I didn't get told that I would need to order veggie sausages until I heard another guest mention it. The member of staff when asked told me there was a 15 min wait so that meant breakfast was delayed. When the sausages arrived they were very tough on the outside and not that pleasant to eat. The staff were very polite and apologetic but said they hadn't got my message. Soya and oat milk were available but no alternative spread or yogurts.

Lovely big room, great shower and very comfy bed. There was a good choice of cereal, yogurt for breakfast along with toast and crossiants aswell as cooked breakfast items.

It was very warm when we were there and difficult to sleep because of the heat. I didn't realise there was a fan in the bottom of the wardrobe until the day we left. It would have been handy to have this pointed out.

The peace and quite the overall setting the rabbits/ hare were a bonus we saw them playing on the lawn from our room window. The table service for breakfast. The food both at the hotel and the pastures lodge pub and restaurant was great. The bed was really big and comfy. The shower was a good size and easy to use.

The mattress cover didn’t fit the bed. The rooms were a little to warm even though only heat was in the bathroom. There was a fan that we used that did help. I didn’t like the buffet breakfast preferred table service as the breakfast was cooked from our order so hotter and not a greasy fried egg like the buffet ones. On check out I was asked to pay the bill however I paid on arrival. The receptionist could not find the receipt I showed her the money had left my account and showed her my online banking app on my phone. My mobile number was taken. I was slightly embarrassed as other guests waiting to speak to her. The receptionist then said it’s ok I will sort it later. A bit awkward!!

The location is fantastic, the food in pub was lovely

The room advertised had a bath, but the room had a shower in and no bath, I have herniated discs and chronic sciatica and can't use showers because I can't bend forward so sadly disappointed, also the breakfast wasn't nice, sausage taste too herby for breakfast they weren't cooked enough either, the bacon was chewy undercooked and fatty, mushrooms were slimy, vild beans and tomatos snd the eggs were swimming in oil, the scrambled eggs were black and in a solid clump, inedible really all of it,
