Liked the size of the room. The communal areas were exceptional. Especially the lounge and dinning areas. It was appreciated that plates and cutlery were available if you bought food from external sources back to the hotel.

There were no staff available to make small requests such as to get use of an ironing board. I stayed for I think 6 nights and the towels were only changed once on day 2 of the stay. to my taste the bed was too firm to sleep comfortably and the walls and doors were very thin resulting in the sound of snoring coming from the next room keeping me awake. An ironing board and a softer mattress and I would not look anywhere else when booking hotels near Crawley.

So glad we chose this property for our stay and not a chain hotel. Absolutely beautiful property, we really enjoyed looking around it and walking around the stunning grounds. It was so quiet we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Very well looked after, you can see all the love that’s gone into making it somewhere people can relax and enjoy. Check in/out was simple and easy. The staff member we met was lovely and I’ve seen other reviewers complain that they don’t like that the property isn’t manned with a reception desk etc, but I sent a text and the lady came straight away to see us and couldn’t have been any more helpful and kind. Room was very clean, bathroom modern and bed comfortable. View was perfect. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we would come back again if in the area. Thank you for having us, Kirstie.

Sat nav tried to take us to the opposite side of the road with the post code, it’s worth mentioning Hookwood manor lodge is opposite the gates to Tudor rose parking.

The room was very spacious and the check-in process was simple. The bed was clean and there was a kettle in the room, but only instant coffee. The gardens around the property were nice to explore and the Balck Horse Pub down the street was great for dinner.

The bathroom in our room had a very strong and unpleasant smell that wouldn't go away. We had three windows, but the room had poor ventilation and was very hot at night. They did provide a fan which helped! I thought it was close to the airport by bus, but it wasn't. We ended up having to get an expensive Uber to get there because the bus doesn't stop close to the lodge. Just be mindful of that when booking!

Spacious and well-maintained room, spotlessly clean, beautiful building and setting, excellent value. They organised my airport taxi transfer which went smoothly. I recommend this property and will use it again.

I had the impression when I booked that an airport transfer in both directions would be possible (this was qualified by 'might'). However the property does not offer airport collection, and the drop-off is £15 cash only. These extra costs unexpectedly reduced the otherwise excellent value of the booking - although I may have missed something when booking.

We have stayed before and will stay again. The proximity to Gatwick airport combined with the car parking and transfer system makes it ideal for overnight stays before and after a trip. The room key was waiting for us - we have never met a member of staff, but they are obviously very efficient - and the room was immaculate, a good size with views of the grounds, which are well kept and a delight to sit in given good weather. There is a pub within easy walking distance for evening meals, and Hookwood Lodge has a dining room for the consumption of visitors' own food. They even do your washing up. I managed to leave the phone charger in our room, but having realised and messaged them, it was waiting in our car on our return from holiday.

Gorgeous hotel, the land is stunning and the location was perfect for us flying from Gatwick the following day. Ample hotel parking, we checked in at 10pm and there was still space. Couldn’t fault it - good shower, comfy bed, contactless check in had perfect instructions, had a tiny hiccup but it was resolved within 30 seconds of a phone call at 10pm at night. Fantastic service. Would definitely stay again. Saw complaints of thin walls but never had an issue. Lovely welcome pack of info too, just a really thoughtful hotel owner.

Comfortable and convenient for airport. Long gravel gates drive made it feel very secure. Self check in meant when we arrived at 9pm the gate code and keys were waiting. Comfortable bed and nice shower. Good amount of coffee, milk and sugar in room. Nearby pub for meals. Less than 10 mins drive to airport car park (or you could use their parking).

If I had to find something then it would be the ectectic mix of furniture in the rooms.

Liked · There was no staff at the Lodge, as expected, but I had been sent explicit instructions of how to collect my room key. All was as per instructed and the process was very smooth and effective. Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Facilities for making a hot drink was good and the location, despite being very close to Gatwick airport, was exceptionally quiet.

Only thing missing was a wardrobe. 2 large Chest of Drawers but only a hat & coat rail to hang things and no clothes hangers which was a bit disappointing. All other aspects of the stay was good.

Like the ambience and beautiful landscape of the lodge, also the ease of check in. Perfect for overnighting before a flight. Value for money. The lodge’s airport taxi driver was prompt and pleasant.

Stayed here once before in a large room upstairs and found the room comfortable and quiet. This time I was given a smaller room downstairs (was initially thrilled I didn’t need to lug my suitcase upstairs) but was surprised at the noise from the other neighboring guests, especially when they were leaving at 5 in the morning. They slammed a door loudly at least 4 times to top it all. Also, like many of the reviews I’ve read, the pillows were really hard and uncomfortable, and an investment of softer, newer pillows would go a long way.

We booked very last minute after a cancelled flight about 7.30pm for arrival about 8pm. Despite our very short notice arrangements had been made for us to arrive and our rooms were clean and comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities and toiletries. There was gated access and easy parking and a lovely pub in walking distance. Would definitely stay again if returning to Gatwick.
