A very cosy hotel with a most perfect location for travelling, free parking and many great opportunities to walk in the nature. We particularly enjoyed our breakfasts which were served by very kind staff. A 3 minutes walk from the hotel, you can enjoy lovely homemade food, particularly their pies are recommended, at the Royal Oak. The hotel also provides good food. A very good bed.

The food in the restaurant is a little pricy if you only want a small bite. We found the surfaces in our room poorly cleaned. Lots of mould on the windows, obviously from humidity in the room and when moving the coffee/tea tray to another table, we found it almost glued to the table and very dirty underneath. This is very obvious for us to be a lack of inspection and easy to change in the day to day cleaning process. The room was cosy and warm but must be cleaner.

Lovely hotel that has lots going for it - close to the motorway but quiet and in a historic location; good food; comfortable rooms. But the best thing about this hotel is the staff. They could not be bettered. They make you feel welcome from the minute you walk in and if there are issues (when are there not issues) then they deal with them quickly and efficiently and in a very friendly way. Everyone seems to pitch in together to make the hotel a success. Special mention for the lovely lady in charge of breakfast - thank you for starting the day off so well.

TV didn't work - but they offered to change the room and a repair person was waiting to look at it when we checked out.

An overnight stay and NO complaints! When we arrived it was a bit overwhelming, the car park was full and the restaurant was heaving with customers. Parking quickly resolved by a member of staff - Sarah. THANK YOU very much Sarah! Our room (no. 16) was large and exceeded expectations. Sofa, plenty of space to move around, comfortable bed and big bathroom. Good shower and towels. We enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast the next morning and the only disappointment was that the Kirby Muxloe Castle did not open until 11am and we could not wait. Recommended and thank you to all.

The restaurant and food was really nice. Had a nice beer garden and the staff were super friendly. Bit of confusion with them charging me twice but they rectified this before I noticed and refunded me.

The room was smaller than expected but the bathroom was massive (which I guess is a positive). Just feel if the room was bigger and the bathroom was smaller it would have been better. Also in the middle of the night, there were a lot of people talking and making noise which vibrated the walls. Wasn't too happy at 1am..not sure if this was other guests or staff but the walls are thin

Lovely clean and comfortable room.very welcoming and accommodating staff.Fabulous breakfast and we also used the restaurant for a family get together and again everybody more than happy with food. Good location for visiting family in Leicester and just far enough off motorway.Pretty village. They also provide fresh milk for the rooms,which always ticks my box.Good parking as well

7 till 9 breakfast time (weekday) is a bit tight if your on a break,but even then your not rushed away from table once food has been served,and welcome to sit and enjoy a coffee/tea.

The owners and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room and restaurant and bar areas were very cosy and I ate well every evening I stayed. The breakfast was also good and at both dinner and breakfast my dietary requirements for gluten free foods were addressed quickly and without fuss which I greatly appreciated. The Greek yoghurt is DIVINE!! The hotel even agreed to keep my own home made soups in their fridge which meant I didn’t have to worry about lunches on the course I needed to attend. For all these reasons, I have booked my next stay at this hotel for which I was offered an upgrade. This hotel is special and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable and to help you out. So thank you.

The room I stayed in was a little on the small side and had a chimney breast in one wall which made the room very warm at night, which might appeal to some people but not for others like myself.

My stay by far exceeded my expectations. What was a quick stopover I wish I could have stayed longer. The room was exactly as shown in the pictures, very warm and cosy and comfortable bed with good pillows (and spares!) Great amenities with everything readily available (welcome note and chocolate, hairdryer, iron&board, great range of tea and coffee). All of the staff I encountered were excellent and friendly especially as someone travelling solo (from check-in, to bar and restaurant, breakfast staff and checkout). I would definitely recommend if location suits your needs as best to get to via car.

Looked lovely when pulled up adequate Parking spaces. Staff very friendly nothing was too much trouble. Room lovely I was upgraded for free which was nice. Was comfortable and welcoming. Manager and wife were really nice. Bathroom looked modern and clean. Thought I had a problem with the TV (turned out to be operator error) but the manager was quick to come to room to help.

Stayed during mini heatwave and the rooms were hot. There was a fan which was great but it was a warm room and ended up opening all of the windows as well

dinner was just what we wanted and considering its location (as are as you can get from the sea )the fish and chips were excellent . when booking I forgot to mention i have to use oxygen and need ground floor or a lift, Our room was quickly changed to one on the ground floor. I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. As i had been born in the the village I do intend to come back for another visit and I will certainly stay at the Castle Hotel

the one thing the hotel could do nothing about which was the poor weather - this week Leicestershire managed to break the record for the most rainfall for this time of year

Warm and welcoming from the outside , this continued inside. Cleanliness was spot on . Bedroom was warm and welcoming, huge fresh smelling bed was a delight to get into after a long drive. Breakfast was served with a smile and food quality was excellent. Caroline and Pamela were our hosts in the morning and were professional but so full of humour and fun , it was a pleasure to chat and laugh with them rather than have a person who has no personality serving you. They made our stay that much nicer.
