absolutely loved my stay at Rose & Crown. The location is perfect and the staff was great! The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
Hand dryers activate easily and can be heard from all bedrooms, even the private upstairs room. Woke me up a couple times but not the biggest deal. Also, the feminine disposal boxes were never cleaned out the entire time we were there and it smelled a bit.

What an absolute gem! This pub-hostel hybrid combines cozy charm with a vibrant atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for visitors wanting to visit central London. The staff are warm and welcoming, ensuring your stay feels like a home away from home. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the downstairs pub serves up delicious food and a fantastic selection of craft beers. Its central location is ideal for exploring London, with major attractions just a short walk or tube ride away. Whether you're stopping by for a pint or staying the night, PubLove @ The Rose & Crown is a top-notch choice! 🌟

Pretty quiet, young travellers so good atmosphere for meeting lots of people from around the world. Good access 24/7. Overall feeling of safety and trust, so even though the lockers aren’t big enough for hiking packs, I didn’t feel like anyone would steal anything anyway. Wifi was also pretty good and reliable, I didn’t eat there so don’t know what it was like but can fill up water down stairs. No kitchen or chill space though, apart from the bar garden
It’s a bit far from the underground. Ideally would be better 500m closer but 1km is a bit of a walk with a fall pack on. Also not heaps of toilets and showers, which are outside the room, not my favourite setup in the world. No proper locker for luggage room like I was expecting, so a bit less secure than my usual stays.

Nice staff at the bar for check-in, who explained everything clearly. Room (6 bed doorm) was smallish but clean and comfortable, some signs of age and use, but it's a hostel, so nothing out of the ordinary. In the room there were lots of outlets, a fan and cages for your bag, you do have to remember your own padlock. Was the only one in my room, which was very lucky, and felt even safer because of that.
Some noise from the pub and outside does travel into the room, but that is expected. There was some wear and tear from use and age but nothing major to dislike about the place. If the bunks were full in my room it would have felt a bit cramped, but as most people who use a hostel are out and about during the day, i don't think it would have been much of an issue apart from the evenings and mornings.

Good value for the price and the "bar-doubles-as-the-reception-desk" thing is a fun concept. Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Neighborhood is lively and central.
I imagine it can be a little tough to get help from the reception desk/bar if you have any problems between ~5pm and midnight. Didn't come up for me as I was out at the pubs in the evening, just a thought. The amount of free floor space for packing/getting dressed was also rather limited for a 9-person dorm. Bunks could use curtains as well.

Considering it was a hostel, my stay was adequate for my needs. The bunk bed was clean and the facilities were clean and well maintained also. As long as you understand that you have not booked into the Ritz your stay should be safe and relatively comfortable The other guests were polite and civilised which is all one could expect from a hostel.
There wasn't anything that I could say that I disliked. The amenities were adequate to everyone's needs.

Despite it being a hostel with a pub right underneath, surprisingly enough I was in a room with decent people who respected others people sleep and have managed to rest properly
Some of the staff were a bit abrupt, but overall good stay, easy to access and close to a lot of Londons attractions

Brilliant location, staff super friendly and quick to check in. Door to the rooms requires key access so feels quite safe. Bedroom nice and clean.
Not the pub's fault at all but lots of door slamming first thing in the morning (started at 6am) the problem being inconsiderate guests. Could door closers stop the doors slamming so hard though? There was a very high pitched noise in my bathroom at one point but when I turned the hot tap on, the noise stopped.

The location is centralised! It is very near to Boroughs Market. It is above a 24-hour pub, so you have access to food all the time. Each bed was also equipped with 2 power plug sockets and usb plug. Unfortunately, mine was broken.
The bed was a 3 layers bunk bed, and you can't sit straight when you are on the bed, so that was a bit uncomfortable, and it made a squeaky sound each time you move, so if you are a light sleeper, that might be quite a challenge. FYI, there is no elevator, so if you have quite a luggage and do not want to store it in their store room, be ready to carry it up the stairs.

No question, the location of PubLove @ The Rose & Crown is ideal for a person who travels on foot or public transport. It is a mere 10-minute walk from the London Bridge Underground and, as well, from the Borough Underground. There are other stations nearby such Waterloo Railway Station which I walked to with luggage in tow to catch a train to Exeter St Davids. I was a bit apprehensive about the accommodations as it coexists with a pub on the ground floor. The fear was groundless as the noise level did not keep me awake at night. The staff were very friendly and ready with any questions I had. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at PubLove @ The Rose & Crown. For the reasons mentioned above, I will consider staying there another time.
These are not major criticisms as I've encountered these at other hostels I've stayed at. There was water on the floor in the entire shower rooms. In other hostels, this problem is minimized by using sunken area where one showers or a barrier to keep the water from spilling into the other area where one has to change and use the sink. The other issue is the paucity of wall hooks in the dormitory area as well as the toilets and shower rooms. The shower room does not have a shelf for placement of soap and other items that one needs while showering.
