Location is excellent. Rooms are comfortable and clean with more than expected toiletries. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall a great place to stay at a fab price.

No restaurant available even though advertised. I have been twice before and enjoyed their sumptuous breakfasts so was very disappointed when the restaurant was not available even though it is described as such on your ad.

Location location location. Breakfast amazing value. Staff excellent. Great value for money if you have children who haven’t been spoilt in 4/5 Star accommodation. No TV which is marvellous. Should remind you of Uni days and canteens.

The beds are well worn and dormitory influenced. Late night arrivals very noisy ie 2am.

The hotel is located on Bankside, 5 minutes walk from the Thames and the "new" Globe theatre and directly opposite the Tate Modern. There are cafés, supermarkets and various restaurants in the immediate vicinity. If you are travelling from Gatwick Airport, you should take the Thameslink train to Blackfriars station. Then leave the station in the opposite direction (follow the signs for Tate Modern/Bankside) and you will be at the hotel in just under 3 minutes on foot (note: Google gives different information here and recommends getting off at London Bridge, which is a 13-minute walk). The hotel is only open to travellers between June and October. Otherwise it is a student residence. The hotel therefore basically has the charm of a youth hostel. And so most of the guests tend to be under 30. Everything is kept very simple, but - it must be emphasised - very clean. The beds in the rooms look like cots at first glance, but they have good mattresses and are therefore very comfortable and you can sleep very well. The breakfast - in a kind of canteen - is very extensive, with both English breakfast and Continental breakfast. The coffee and the cappuccino are very good. There are also plenty of croissants and pain au chocolat, as well as muesli and lots of fresh fruit. As I said, you shouldn't expect luxury, but you can get good accommodation for little money in this expensive city. I would like to emphasize the friendliness of the ladies at the breakfast buffet. Coupled with a pinch of humor, they serve up the fried eggs or beans. The housekeeping staff were always very friendly, polite and smiled when you greeted them. There was also a very nice young man at the reception (blond hair and glasses) who was very accommodating and helpful.

nothing to complain!

Very good no thrills centrally located accommodation located directly behind the tate modern next to the globe theatre in a peaceful safe area, access st Paul's etc via the millennium bridge a short walk away. Good food and drink at the anchor public house 10 mins walk away. Good breakfast in LSE ground floor dormintory style restaurant. Excellent way to see london on a budget. Rooms basic but good, kitchens on each floor, big rooms. I found the bed comfy but took my own pillow. Shower powerful. I took a cool box fridge for milk etc. Great if you like your own space and don't like fuss or bother. Recommended

Get to breakfast for 7 am otherwise long queues. Doors slamming from 6.30am onwards can be annoying as other international guests start there day on the plus side it's quiet at night. Didn't bother me too much as I took ear plugs.

The location of the accommodation was superb for getting out and about. I was with family (child 8) and we walked to a large proportion of the sights my granddaughter wanted to see. Staff were polite and friendly. The all you can eat breakfast was of excellent quality and really set us up for our days out. Value for money wise I don't think this accommodation can be beaten and I would certainly use again if it was available next time I visit the smoke. Also the availability of a luggage room made a huge difference on the days when we arrived and left, making both days very much part of the holiday rather than having to tow luggage around with us.

Nothing really!

Remember this is student accommodation during term time and your expectations should match this. Twin room, basic beds, furniture and lighting but loads more power points than you would get in a standard hotel. The shower was a surprise, hot and powerful! We were seven floors up, there are plenty of lifts. Breakfast exceeded our expectations, so much choice, hot and cold, fruit, cheese, pastries, etc. Vegetarians and vegans are well catered for. There are restaurants and convenience stores on your doorstep. The White Hart pub around the corner was good for drinks and had outdoor seating.

Nothing. For some it may be a bit far from the tube, 10-15 minute walk to Southwark or Blackfriars across the bridge. We didn't mind that too much. Breakfast is busy! Especially around 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. It is self-service, although someone dishes out the hot food. Be prepared to queue. The coffee machines aren't great, but step outside and there is plenty on offer nearby.

It was perfectly positioned for what we arranged to do. So impressed by the little extra touches, generous amounts of tea and coffee making facilities in our room. Also generous quantities of shower gel and soap-all good quality. Breakfast was great and plentiful. We stayed two nights and there were some different choices each morning. All the food was great quality. All Staff were excellent. We were able to refill our water bottles regularly which was great!

We stayed during a particularly hot spell and there was no air conditioning, the window didn’t open to far-understandably for safety. I think our room was at the back of the building and it was quite noisy between 5.30 and 7.30

Yes, it’s a dormitory — but a surprisingly comfortable one. The rooms are spacious, clean, convenient, and feel safe. The building is located directly across from the Tate gallery, just a few hundred meters from the train station with direct connections to Gatwick Airport. Guests have access to a laundry room equipped with modern washers and dryers, a game room, and shared kitchens on each floor. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

The downside — yes, it’s a dormitory, and a massive one at that, with a LOT of people staying at the same time. One morning, the queue to enter the breakfast hall stretched to about 50–60 people, all waiting in the corridor. BUT — the dining staff were absolutely incredible. They worked with machine-like efficiency while still managing to greet and assist each guest personally. The line moved quickly thanks to their impressive coordination. The food selection was EXCELLENT for such a place, with a good coffee and fresh pastries. Our windows faced the main entrance, and it was noisy at night — not because of the guests, but due to the location itself. It’s a busy pedestrian area, and the sound echoes off the surrounding buildings, making it hard to ignore.
